What prompted you or made you decide to quit?I quit in 2010 after smoking for several decades enjoying both cigs and cigars. Quitting made no difference for my symptoms, the flares remained about the same after quitting. However, smoking is a filthy habit and everything from my mouth to my house cleared afterwards. I would never pick up a smoke again for that reason.
Ten years after the colostomy surgery and with advice from the GI I decided to quit. I didn't enjoy smoking so much after retirement, smoking on the job was a thing. I just put them down and that was it, I had some craving at the start but it dried up quick. Only when I was around other smokers did I have a desire to have a puff, but I held off. As time went on, I did not like the smell either.
