Oh and Jane surgery really helped me! I am still taking meds, but have been in remission since my surgery.

How long ago was your surgery? They think I will be too so like to hear from others how long they've be ok since surgery.
 
Jane, I had surgery in October 2010 and was in remission for almost 5.5 years. Even when not in remission I have never been as bad as I was before surgery. I recently got active disease again because Humira had lost effectiveness. Hopefully Entyvio will get me back to remission.

My surgery was Feb 2012, so over 5 years. I am on Cimzia and Lialda, and I take probiotics and Vit D. I pray that this surgery puts you in remission and you can try to get back to life more.
 
Thank you everyone. It's so important for me to think ok most people get about 5 good years. Hopefully since envivio is working so well with me I'll get a few more too.

Will do am praying now. It's hard having that guarded feeling....is this going to work....try not to be too optimistic incase it doesn't.....try not to be negative....holding out hope....ya lots of thoughts I'm there with ya.
 
Your very right GI Jane but sometimes it's hard you know had to many promises but a few would always back fire. But my faith in God always helps when needed...
 
Deffently I will Ron, hope everything goes well with your doctor appointment Friday. Just keep a positive attitude about the situation whatever the outcome. Your friend 4ever...

Oh no bro that's horrible news, do you still feel crappy after you get the shot? Or did it just stop working for you? Man I definitely hope that they will get you on something that works Buddy...
 
Damn buddy I feel you on that. That's what happened to me with remicade recently. I have incontinence a least twice a week, rest of the time I go to the bathroom 12 Times a day I can say is since being home from the hospital when my GI put me on a gluten free high protein diet it has gotten a lot better. So Friday I'll be taking remicade with this new IV med immune modulator that I'll told you about. He has high hopes that it'll work studies from Harvard so very promise. I hope that your GI gets you on something that works well for you buddy...
 
I don't know when but I will be switching to Entyvio. I have been on several biologics. Please pray that this one puts me in remission. Thanks.
 
So much pain today and even water sends me to bathroom.....I didn't even eat anything odd yesterday....sigh....so weak....never know when is the right time to go to ER or just give it another day or two...and I took oxy which should have stopped me up...the second surgeon's secretary called to say still looking over records but will be soon...pray it will be soon.
 
Hey cmack buddy Im sorry to hear about your best friend. Damn I know it hurts bro, when my two little ferrets passed I cried like a little child. But they had very long happy lives. I had this done on my bladder for that fistula it put me down for a few weeks got the catheter out Friday morning. But I am back on here now, buddy sending prayers for you and Ron.

Thoughts and prayers for you all. I still miss my dog Kodi and it's been years. It's made it hard to get another one for me for some reason. Been thinking about it a lot lately for a balance trained dog. Keep me in prayers for successful surgery on Friday.
 
I could use a few prayers today, i have a migraine with accompanying nausea, a large toe that needs a joint replacement and has been keeping me awake, an abscessed tooth that is also keeping me awake, the dreaded diarrhea, and a heart that won't stop racing and doing weird things lately. (I know what the problem is, it's getting it under control that is the issue right now.) Going to sleep now, but prayers would be much appreciated.
 
I knew what you meant Ron. :hug: But I have been feeling a little dented.:biggrin: Headache is starting to dissipate, now if I can get the other things under control. Thanks all. At least don't feel like I'm going totally out of my head right now, as I felt earlier. I highly believe in the power of Prayer.
 
Been out of town and just seeing this. Praying for you Sandy that your body can heal and you get some peaceful rest.
 
Did a little too much this weekend so in more pain in surgical area would appreciate prayers and for my husband who had eye surgery.

Faith and hope. It is surely something we must always constantly remind our self of on a daily basis. It is surely what gets us through life and some of us need it more than others. You do not need to be religious, it does not matter.
Today I would like to pray for all of you and despite all our individual hardships to keep faith and hope alive within you. Even though I know during some periods it can be more than difficult.
 
It helps me to get out of my own head and my own health, and it always helps to discuss your worries with others. I hope an outside this board subject doesn't break any rules.

Many other people have intimidating health concerns, including my daughter Emily. She's had headaches everyday since she was a sophomore in high school and she'll turn 37 this year. The headaches are caused by chronic conditions called Chiari Malformation and EDS and normal OTC meds don't touch her. We've been all over the country to various specialists and she's had 3 surgeries trying to stop the daily pain. She can't work and while she was married, her husband couldn't deal with her medical issues. This Friday, the 2nd, she has a 4th surgery scheduled in Bethesda, Maryland, to fuse disks in her neck, hoping to find some relief.

Prayers for this poor soul would be greatly appreciated.

I've had more than my fair share of migraines, but I can't imagine headaches every day for years. Praying for relief of pain for your daughter and peace for all involved. I hope the surgery works.
 
Every day when I eat lunch I say grace. Today I prayed for others to find relief (and better yet cures) from their ailment(s).
 
Please pray for my daughter who is graduating that she finds the best job for her with the best insurance as she's diabetic.
 
I got sick from visiting family. Hate my weak immune system. Head killing me, coughing, can sleep.....lungs heavy.....please pray.
