York,
I talked to my GI but she can't see me til tuesdAy. I have this area between my vag and rectum that is protruding (sorta like a hemorid would) is very sore , bleeding and seems to have stool coming out. I can feel (can't see it and I am not asking my husband to look lol) a small pint point hole. I have no stool coming out of vag or anything else crazy.

I was trying to explain this to my GI over phone and I have her confused.

HELP

I do have cipro something being called In either way. :ybatty:

I'm currently on Pentasa, Imuran and just had my 3rd dose of a Remicade

Poor you :-( If there is stool coming out, yes it could be a fistula. You have Cipro? What was that prescribed for? I would bathe the area in warm water with a little salt to soothe and keep as clean as possible. Also dry gently and maybe wear a pad for the discharge. It's very distressing,, I know. Let us know how you get on with the GI.

That does sound like a fistula. It's good that you have made an appointment with your GI. Until then, I would try not put a whole lot of pressure on the area, if possible. I know it's a pain, but laying down and applying hot compresses can be really helpful for fistulas and similar problems. Tons of warm baths in a sitz bath would also be a good idea. The Cipro is an antibiotic that is commonly used to help treat fistulas and abscesses, so that is definitely a wise move from you GI. Thinking of you, and please keep us posted.

Iv never had a fistula or abscess but iv heard that hyperbaric oxygen chambers are now being used for healing them and are very effective, so try ask your GI about that ASAP, all the best xo

thank you everyone. Well Im glad tje GI called in cipro. Do u think a hot tub is ok and good? we have one. Also my doc is pretty certain i have crohn vs UC but has not been anle to prove it...so she still has in my chart UC. Are these common with crohns vs UC? i would lile to get the Rigjt dx and have it in my chart. I dont understamd if she thinks i have it why wont she dx me as it. I guess she is worried of a lawsuit?

Yes, fistulas are very much common in those with crohns unfortunately

It would be recommended to take sitz baths

Why would she be worried about a lawsuit?
She thinks you have it but it is not certain until further tests are done such as biopsies from a colonoscopy. Even though fistulas are common in crohns there are regular people that get it as well.
