Rib/chest pain - side effect?

Hi

I have crohns and am on 4 tabs of prednisolone a day (3 weeks so far) and 3 tablets of azathiaprine a day (nearly 3 weeks). I was diagnosed last year and had 4 months of pred, then when i came off it the crohns came straight back so now im on pred and aza.

since starting on these my ribs are hurting. i feel ike ive swallowed loads of air and its hard to swallow food. Like a big burp would help but i dont burp. i have major back ache and i had that on pred last time.

Is this rib ache, feeling of swallowing loads of air a side effect or could it be heartburn? ive taken a rennie but that hasnt helped.

Also whne i started back on pred the diarea went but its been back again the last 4 days. I did eat some carrots and melon so i assume its a reaction to that but i notice aza side effect is diareea. anyone else had D as a side effect of Aza and does it pass?

Hey Kerry. I was wondering if you drink plenty of water when you take your pred because a similar thing happened to me, but when I started drinking a ton of water when I took the pills it cleared up. I would definitely advise you to talk to your doctor about it...

is it like a gas pain? i have had something like it. It's terrifying. rub your stomach so that you burp. that might help. also try activate charcoal or gas-x
