I 'm married to a wonderful man who has helped me through a load of surgery ( some of it scary) but is in a job which is very mentally draining... teaching teenage adults at the local college. He sometimes is so tired that he has in the past admitted to having 'run out of sympathy and empathy'. He is still supportive and 100% behind me but I can understand what he means. Sometimes he comes home from work and I've had a bad day (or number of days) and he just feels 'not again'!
I'm posting this for all the other carers/lovers out there who may feel guilty about this. My advice is to talk it through. If you've both had a bad day accept it and get an early night to read or sleep, whatever...
I hope this helps some of you both carers and patients.XXX

I think communication is always key in any relationship. Everyone has good and bad days and has their set of emotions and opinions.
