I was wantingg to get yalls opinions/ thoughts on this. I am salicylate sensitive so since my husbands dx of an inflamatory bowel disease Ive been thinking a lot about this.... Salicylate is a very good natural anti inflamatory. It naturally occurs in fruits and veggies thru the soil as a natural pesticide. Avacado is one of the highest foods in salicylate. Along with strawberries, peanuts, nut butters, tomatoes, most spices, watermelon.....if you wanted you could google the really long list.
My point is, since mesalimine, sulfasalazine, canasa, etc are salicylate based meds, used to control inflammation, wouldnt eating Hi-Sal foods be just as beneficial? Mabye more so cause of the extra calories and nutrients & without the bad side effects of the drugs?
