Seton operation

Hi all

Is the seton surgery safe and does not lead to fecal incontinces??

I need the answer please.

You may want to use the forum search function across the top of the page and the keywords Seton surgery. It should give you some threads to browse through of others experiences with seton. Also, if you click on the word seton in your first post it may give more info as well.

I'm sorry I cannot be of more help but my son has never had a seton. Hopefully others may be along soon.

There are a lot of factors that would be in play. It depends on the location of the fistula tract, how much the surgeon has to cut and clean and it they use a cutting seton or not, and if a fistulotomy is peformed as well. It is possible if they have to go through the sphincter that there could be some incontinence.

I find I cannot wait now once I feel the urge to go.

I would definitely ask your surgeon this question.
