Hey,
I have had crohns for about 7 years and have allways had stomach pains but recently they have gotten a lot worse. They come on after I eat and have a bm and also at random points during the day. The pain is really intense and they last for about 2mins. I was wondering if anyone had any advice because I can't take this for much longer. I am awaiting surgery (ileostomy) and hope when that is done these pains will go away. Any help or advice on how to keep the pain at bay would be really helpful.

I got that way before having my first bowel resection in October. Personally, I was on a balanced schedule of pain medicine, hyoscyamine, prednisone, and stool softeners just to feel somewhat normal in the interim. If you don't already have those sorts of things in place, I would definitely visit your doctor so that you can have some normalcy until your surgery date.

Best of luck!

I have tried the meds but they don't work for me :( . I really hope surgery helps so I can get my life back. It just seems to be taking a while for me to get a date for it the Heath service in the uk are fameously slow!
