Surgery tomorrow :-(

Going in for a open small bowel resection tomorrow morning. Starting to get nervous, anxious. I can't stop thinking about it. Trying to stay calm. Just wishing for a smooth operation.

Good luck Lostboi779! A small bowel resection is exactly what I had also several years ago.

The actual surgery is a piece of cake... you are out for the entire thing. I was in the hospital for a week after the surgery, but overall the recovery was not too bad at all. You definitely will not be ready to run a marathon the next day (or the next month) but as long as you can give yourself a good recovery period there is no reason to think that things will not go smoothly.

Truly relax and I truly hope that your 2011 is full of health and happiness!
