I have been on humira for a year now and over the past year I have had bouts of intense sweating in my sleep, to the point where I wake up drenched in sweat. Example: last night it was like 40 degrees outside, I slept with a blanket on and had to put a fan on bc I was too warm. Has this happened to anyone else or is it Just me?

Hi Luckystar,
The only time I had "night-sweats" was when I was pretty sick, with a bad stricture. Ended up having a resection, and night sweats went away. It was bad, I'd have to get up in the middle of night and change clothes and lay a towel down under me so I didn't make the sheets sopping wet. Not sure if that is the kind of thing you are dealing with, but that was my experience.

JustanOthercp,
Thank you for the quick reply! I don't think I am dealing with a stricture or at least the GI didn't indicate that's what I am dealing with. I think I am still flaring some as I had to be put on prednisone again. But I have had night sweats in the past just being on humira alone. I think I have possible fistilas or something going on, I go October 14th so the colon surgeon can look and see what's going on. I just wasn't sure why I am swatting like this.

Do you mind if I ask a few questions? Are you on Methotrexate or prednisone? Also, how old are you? I started these same symptoms at 35 and I came to find out it was the prednisone. Later, around 38 it returned and I too thought it was Humira or Remicade but in fact it was early menopause caused by the Methotrexate. Perhaps your doctor could check your hormone count as well as your thyroid and adrenal functions.

Night sweats are a side effect that can occur with Humira but if it is suddenly occurring and you we're fine on the medication before, you could have an active infection. http://www.rxlist.com/humira-side-effects-drug-center.htm You should definitely consult your doctor.

I had major sweating where I kept changing my clothes and sheets constantly but I had an abscess. I used pads on my bed and pillow since it's easier to change those than to keep changing sheets and covers. Good luck and I hope it stops soon as it can be pretty miserable.

Hi
I suffer from a lot of sweating too, Im not sure if its the humira because its been happening to be for years, even before I was diagnosed. I think its something to do with the disease but I'm not a doctor so I don't know

I've been doing the same thing I was just found to have a duodenal ulcer which is causing me lots of pain and discomfort and indigestion plus I'm active right now so who knows may be a stricture as well only time well tell hope u get well soon!!!
