I have Crohn's, currently taking Cimzia injx 400mg every 2 weeks. this is my current regimen: i am not on an induction.
Just had an injection 11/22. Been doing injx every 2 weeks for about 2 months now. (I had to move to every 2 weeks bc every 4wk was not working and I had oral and genital Crohns on top of everything else)

I'm planning to have Thanksgiving at my house...

My sister just informed me that her kids are sick with Strep throat and ear infection, but on antibiotics. They will no longer be contagious by Thanksgiving...
BUT my 2 sisters and my parents have been caring for the boys while they've been sick, before they were on antibiotics.

The last time I was around someone with Strep throat I ended up in the hospital with pneumonia. It took me 6 months to fully recover. So now you understand why i'm extra worried.

As you all know, even just a "tiny cold" can take me at minimum 4 weeks to recover from.

I dont know whether I should cancel Thanksgiving at my house, or am I overreacting, by knowingly letting sick people/carriers into my house????

the kids should be fine with antibiotics by then, i'm told. But what about the adults?

What would you do if you were me?

That sounds good.....I had strep myself the week before going on vacation over Halloween weekend....No one else at home or work got sick......thankfully!

I'm hoping it wasn't a sign of me getting sick this winter.....usually I'm the healthiest one in the house!!

Out of interest do any of you have the flu ***? I am unsure what to believe, there seem to be so many pros and cons. Some say it's all pharmaceutical hype and that it causes great damage?

In 1991, I had the flu. Shortly afterwards, I had a flare. I have always believed that the flu led into the flare. I always try to get the flu shot now.

DS is 12 and has gotten the flu shot for 10 years
No issues
He has asthma and I have seen him with the flu ( when he didn't get the flu shot )
Lots of steroids needed /ER visits and barely able to breathe for a week
Flu shot = no flu or mild flu and no steroids
