As some of you girls may know...Crohn's disease especially sucks around that time of the month. :( Just wondering if anyone had taken Tramadol with Midol and is it safe? Or Tramadol with any other tylonol or pain meds. I ask the pharmacist but she didn't seem very confident when she said it SHOULD be okay. Please let me know!

my doctor told me that it's ok to take NSAID with tramadol, midol is an NSAID. Now, the question is - should you be taking midol?

also - the pharmacist wasn't sure?? I'm hoping it was a technician and not the head pharmacist..

Yeah, I'm not sure. She seemed very confused as to why I would ask if it was okay to take them together. Maybe I was just really irritated at the time, who knows? As for should I be taking midol...I'm not sure why I shouldn't?

Well most GIs tell you not to take NSAIDs if you have any kind of IBD or gastritis issues.

yeah mine is too, he marked it on a sheet he gave me after my endoscopy once. It's because NSAIDS can cause internal bleeding and irritation to the digestive tract so it can make things worse. if the pain is real bad it may still be worth taking, as long as its not often. I have migraine medication with aspirin in it so I can only take it if I'm basically on the floor screaming from the pain. otherwise it's tramadol all the way.. and muscle relaxants and xanax.

Tramadol can be mixed with tylenol, actually a drug called Ultram is that particular combination. Works like a charm for me, better than tramadol on its own :)
