Hello everyone! I'm new to this and like what I have seen so far. Everyone seems so nice and willing to help. I was on Humira for about a year, which worked very well. I had to quit taking as I became pregnant 8 mos ago. Stopping the Humira caused my condition to reappear and also caused me to go into preterm labor. I had my baby boy 11 weeks early, but he is doing fantastic. I, on the other hand, am not. Right now I have a large, tight, protruding, bulge on my LRQ. I've never experienced this before, but am assuming is some sort of stricture or obstruction. Watching closely and paying close attention to fever or nausea. I have a question that I have been wondering about. How many of you fellow cronies out there have had something traumatic happen in your lives? Particularly before your symptoms and perhaps that traumatic event involved your mother? Just curious here. Hope to hear some responses!

Do you mean before we had crohn's? Well when I was born I made my mom really sick because I took a poop in her stomach while I was still inside of her which caused her to get a serious infection and they had to drain fluids from her stomach. Looks like I have had poop problems sinse day one. Figures, ha.

Yes before we had crohns. My mother passed away when I was at a very tender age. A friend told me they read an article about women who have crohns disease have also had a traumatic event in their lives often involving their mothers. I have not read the article yet, but thought it sounded interesting. It does sound like you have had the poops since day one :)

Why did you stop taking Humira when you got prengnant? I took it during my entire pregnancy.

I haven't had any traumatic incidences really at all! I started having symptoms after I had a cyst on my ovary and appendicitis at age 12 though. i've been told the stress of the surgery on my body may have made the Crohn's active.

My GI thought I should quit taking the Humira. He wished that I had quit taking it about 6 mos prior to becoming pregnant. He said the drug is so new and they dont know what it can do to the fetus. My significant other thought I should continue to take it. He watched a video from the mayo clinic that says you should continue to take it. I wish I would have now. I just got my Humira back again yesterday and loaded myself up with four shots. Right now I have a giant mass that is red and swollen and hurts like crazy on my LRQ. Ever had this?? Your baby is so cute!!
