For those who don't know Sarah's story she was dx with Crohn's at 16.5 years is now 22. She has been imuran all that time.

She has been home for 6 weeks after spending the last 2.5 years working and travelling around U.K. And Europe.

She is currently in small flare and taking steriods.

She has a new job starting next week, if her employer can get the flight organisated for Wednesday, otherwise the flight will be Sunday. We will know tomorrow.

There is no chemist in town so we need to get 6 months medication organisated. No specialist, No hospital, No doctor.

Thanks for the update! I'm glad that she was able to come home for a visit, but I'm sorry to hear that she's flaring. I hope the flare can be controlled quickly.

Sorry to hear she's flaring! But, hopefully, she's already feeling better.

And I hope you had a nice visit with her and she was feeling good for most of it!

:ghug:

Wow!! She is so grown up now - 22 !! Sorry to hear she is flaring - hope they can get it under control quickly.

It good to have Sarah home.

Her flight from Brisbane has been arranged for Wednesday. She will fly out of Melbourne on Tuesday.

She is moving in outback South Australia on a contract to until January. Lots of organise, medication and blood tests and finding somewhere for the three monthly blood test.

Sarah is on her way to her new job.

She is current travelling across Queensland by mail plane. She employer will pick she up and drive her the job in outback South Australia.

We managed to locate the nearest RFDS base, which is a nurse at mine operation. The base is less than 50 km away but over 3 hours by car.

The nearest town to over 200 km away, with a population of just under 300 people.

There is no mobile phone coverage
She employer provide internet access via satellite.

Wow, it sounds like it will be quite an interesting job! What does she do?

And, glad you were able to organize it all! It sounds like there was quite a bit of coordination to arrange all. But, it's also inspiring to see how crohns has not ever stopped her from her ambitions!! From her competitive swimming to working in the outbacks!! You must be very proud!:D

She is working in a hotel as bartender. The settlement has a population of 12. The hotel has 12 staff in the dry season, in October staff drops to 4.

She seems ok, its hard stay in contact, it was easier when she was overseas. There is no mobile coverage and she has 2G of satellite internet access per month.

How exciting for her! Glad you were able to get everything organized. Love that she is out there living her life to the fullest.

Quick update on Sarah,

Her contract end date has been brought forward to early December. Work has dried up at the hotel and she luck to get 4 hours work a day.

They had 8 customers today, the most they seen it week.

They had some rain last month and roads were closed for two days.

Update on the Sarah. Sarah gots blood test done at the near by station at the monthly RFDS clinic.

She headshome early December, and she will be home for two weeks. Before starting her new job in Tasmania before Christmas.

I need to try and get a specialist appointment due that time, wish me luck.

Sarah is still in Tasmania, Hobart end. Current contract ends in mid March.

I know her GI did calprotectin and stool testing test before she left due to Anemia. Her blood results had not improve on the previous test.

It looks like the Crohn is not remission.
