So far I understand thing to do with Chicken Pots, I have all childhood vac and also suffer with Chicken Pots as a child twice.

What the connect with have Crohns disease and flare up?

Please can someone is plain English.

Hi Joesphine, if you have had chickenpox in the past, your blood test for chickenpox (Varicella Zoster Virus antibodies) will be positive, and you should be immune.

The main reason it is tested is to pick up those who haven't been exposed, so not immune.

You can then either vaccinate them, or, if they are already on immune suppression (so you can't vaccinate them as it is a live vaccine) you can treat them with immunoglobulin (passive immunity) if they have a significant exposure, which should protect them for a short period of time.

Really important in adults as chickenpox in a adult can lead to a very severe illness, and can be life threatening if also immune suppressed.
