vsl3 vs primal defence

hey guys trying to choose a probiotic to try and after doing some research I want to try either one of the 2 I have mentioned just want peoples experiences with them and how well you felt after starting them

I was on VSL but I never really thought it did much good but any good quality and less expensive ones will do. Just my theory.

For me, I'd rate primal defense as a 3.5 on a scale of 1-5, 5 being best. I too would like to hear how people rate VSL3 versus other brands. On a related note, how much is VSL3?

Vsl3 is 120 australian for thirty sachets thats our price but I'm willing to pay anything for a normal BM and less grumbling and feeling like crap after I eat

why do you rate PD as 3.5 was it not that good and how well did you feel on it

I would say it is slightly above average, in comparison to most store bought probios. However, PD was one of the first probios I tried 6 years ago; possibly the rest of my diet was out of whack and didn't let the probios work as effetively as they should. To be more descriptive, my stools weren't as formed as they are after using other brands (Jarrow EPS is my fav, as of now). Though I did buy them probably about three times, and I distinctly remember a slight uneasiness in my stomach immediately after swallowing--this never led to any lasting upset or problematic BMs.

I can't say I've tried the PD Ultra, or later formulations. I might give em a second chance if I find a cheap online retailer.

Thanks heaps for the info and your experiences with the PD

Have you tried theese guys for PD I think they're pretty cheap here is the link

crohns.net I they're cheap

I think for 2 boxes which is good for 30 packages, and I took 2 sachets a day it cost for 2 boxes about 80 bucks CDN give or take. But it is 450 billion of these critters a day. It does more benefits for colitis in conjunction with an antibiotic that escapes me at the moment. It isnt in Canada only the states.

My GI recommends Florastor and Culturelle-the Florastor really improved some of my symptoms, bloating, gas, diarrhea for no apparent reason. These two are cultured from yeast but not the kind that gives you a yeast infection or overgrowth. Other probiotics I like are Primal Defense and Vitacost has some good ones, just look for those with like 20 billion or so, he said Crohnnies need a minimum of that number for effectiveness.

Hope this helps! :)
