I haven't been able to reach remission totally since I was diagnosed almost 2 years ago. I've been changing my medications ever since the beginning and everytime I go on a flare, I need to take prednisone for almost 2 months.

I hate prednisone and I can't deal with the side effects anymore. My doctor even said not to be on it for long because I won't grow. Yet that's what she puts me on everytime something happens.

This time arround, my doctor reduced my 6mp dose in half which I don't think is doing enough. Ever since the reducing, I've been in a flare. She put me on prednisone again which worked until I weened down to 15 mg. she told me to go back up to 20 for 5 days but I'm still having stomach pain and diarrhea.

I'm starting to wake up in pain with a gurgling stomach having to go to the bathroom. I have a doctors appointment next Tuesday but I don't think she understands that I can't just wait for all these things. And I'm afraid she won't do anything with my medication accept tell me to take more prednisone..

I'm sorry you are going through this on a beautiful saturday morning :( Contact your Doctors office now. They always have a doctor on call. Tell them exactly what you are going through and they might be able to call in a prescription to your pharmacy to keep you comfortable until your appointment. If it severe enough, they will probably want you to go to the ER to get a CT scan or xray. There may be an obstruction causing your pain. Prednisone is a horrible drug, perhaps something else may be appropriate for your flare up now. There is no need for you to suffer until Tuesday so call your doctor's office. Tell them how much pain and discomfort you are in and where it is. Good luck and I hope you can get on the road to recovery asap!

Make sure you tell then how much this is having a impact on you it is not right for you to be left suffering and they need to come up with a plan to get this under control. I have found I take so much but I get to a point and I can't take anymore its best to be honest with them and they will hopefully listen and act.
I have had a dr before who was dawdling when I was really suffering I was begging them for help and they wouldn't I went to a different dr and spoke to a fantastic nurse who got things moving and baisically told the other dr what a div he was being.
I hope you feel better soon
