Bleak winters day here . No rain but no sun. It has been very cold down south due to strong southerly fronts sweeping thru Bass strait . They have been causing some very severe weather as they continue up the east coast. Both Norfolk and Lord Howe islands have been recording swells up to six meters . Things in Australia are continuing to free up with few if any new corona cases showing up in the past week. I can now travel anywhere in Qld and other states are being given the same freedom. Most state borders are remaining closed as governments are being very cautious. The criteria is basically the incubation period so if nothing flares after two weeks they proceed to the next stage. It seems to be working. I seem to be having more bad days than good days with my health. My doctors ask me what is wrong but I don't know , all I know is I feel unwell most of the time but nothing specific. Ron.
 
I hope you feel better soon Ron.I think the Covid is affecting most of us now even if it doesn't interfere much in our lives. Plus the underlying health problems rearing their ugly heads don't help.
Cool,blustery and showery here,and I'm sure I heard some hail at the windows.It won'r last of course as we're just days into the summer....Oh,deep joy......I hope that badger hasn't dragged Di. into it's den,let's know you're safe my friend.
 
No notifications and i couldn't get the site up manually.

I'm doing ok. I've managed to put plastic storage boxes with water in by the ginormous holes under the fence. I've left enough room for hedgies to get through. No badger activity last night thank god.

Blustery, freezing cold, my hands are numb and i've raked the woollies and thermals back out. What a shame i put the electric blanket away. Think it's like this for a little while too, so proper English weather really. Summer seems to be over.

Ron, seems like Australia is having a proper winter already. I'm almost delighted for you. Carol would like your weather lol. Hope the health picks up soon. personally i can feel spread in my abdomen but my cancer marker is at it's lowest. I wish i knew what to do about it, but the hospitals are all on a very long drawn out go slow with appointments with specialists or treatments. Oh, well. At least i can go out for some exercise. I went to the dentist with broken denture and i noticed the market was on yesterday and far more shops were open and they were non-essential items shops. A little more normal in town now.
 
Chris, Norway suffered a huge landslide on the 3rd of June. Was a whole chunk of land with houses on sloughed off and slid into the sea. Everyone was safe apparently. I saw it on the news and youtube. Enjoy the ride.

Heating on can you believe? i'm really feeling this cold windy weather. Roll on Summer! the plastic containers with water in have done the job though i didn't spot any hedgies last night. I know the birds visit the hedgie feed station early in the morning so i'm keen to see if i still have hedgies.
 
Cool and calm with sunny skies ,temps ranging from 11- 22 c. My doc called with some more results. I was in hospital last july with raised heart attack enzymes (troponin) . The normal level is around 12-14. I was at 18 when they checked me out two months later I was at 28. Last week I was just over 30. They are suggesting that there is probably nothing wrong. There are several types of troponin caused by various problems. the type I am leaking is associated with mostly cardiac or sometime kidney failure. I really don't have much confidence in doctors. Ron.
 
We know more about what is going on in our bodies than the doctors can, one can only hope the doctor can find the best way to handle our complaints, they can only do so much Ron. I have been feeling under the weather lately, I'm blaming it on the time of year. The flies are terrible now after the recent rains keeping me inside the house and last night with the emergence of the mosquitos they were buzzing around the bedroom interrupting my sleep making me feel worse. A good day to snooze away.
 
The weather here is currently 17c and cloudy. Rain is expected for today and tomorrow. We had a decent amount of rain last night... I happen to know it was substantial due to the 200 litre rain barrel having been filled to the brim. I certainly hope the land doesn't slide wherever you may be. My best to all.
 
Another cool cloudy morning. No sign of rain tho we need some badly. It is always windy at this time of the year and many people don't realize how much water is lost to evaporation from wind. Not enough gardeners here use mulch to retain water in the soil. I understand the strain on our various medical systems in various countries Buff and I understand their ability to treat us at times. What I don't understand is that everytime I turn up with a problem it is treated as a new problems . Some of these things are decades old and are gradually getting worse. I doubt very much if our long and detailed medical records are ever referenced. it is about time that the local medical centres had a specialist physicians who specialised in long term medical conditions. I hope those mosquitos and back flies back off soon and you can get some quality rest, Ron.
 
It's pretty bleak out today. Still cold and it's June. Never mind. I could do with another social outing. I've had one this year and i am feeling too isolated now.

think the badger has found the tiny bit of fence that isn't very high. He hasn't come under the fence and my bulbs aren't disturbed. the hedgehog feed stations are still strewn about. I have a spare piece of fencing and hope to prop that up against the fence with another plastic storage container of water. See if that helps.

That's a great deal of rain Buff. Are you on a hillside at all? i don't fancy you slipping down into the sea like the Norwegians did the other day. I'm glad we don't have blackflies. They sound dreadful.

I think we get to a certain age, Ron, and the GP's treat us less and less. It's known over here that they really don't give the best healthcare to those that aren't going to be taxpayers for too much longer. We are a strain on the NHS, it's insulting, but it's true. Stay safe everyone.
 
Rain and cold, I put on the fire last night, and I'll light another later on. Yesterday was a pleasant afternoon and took a ride on the ATV down the logging road to see the damage from a small bush fire, it was not very much, luckily it was caught early or it would have been serious. Di the medical system works the same way here too, Its part of the plan to get rid of seniors. They don't want the pensioners around for long.
 
Clear and cold here today. Some rain expected later in the week, I certainly hope so. It was a public holiday in the southern states yesterday. There were a lot more people out and about for the long weekend. Unfortunately a 60 year old surfer was attacked and killed by a great white shark in northern NSW at 10 am yesterday morning. It was not a typical attack with bright sunshine and crystal clear water. We have seen drone shots in the last week of huge schools of bait off the sunshine coast and one chilling picture of a half grown humpback whale being tracked by a white pointer and a pack of large bull sharks. Scary , Ron.
 
So pleased it's cooler for you, Ron. I bet a lot of Australians relish the cooler weather, but what a year Australia had. Those sharks sound really terrifying.

My fingers are completely numb as i type this. Looking less windy out there and i hope the temps creep up. I need to sort the horrible mess the badger caused. He's had a field day with my bulbs/hedgehog feed stations/lawn. Hopefully he won't stay around. I didn't feed the hedgies last night in the hope he will go elsewhere.

We're over 40 thousand dead in Britain. America is doing badly and Brazil, i think, know they will overtake the US with its favella's/flavellas? which ever they are. It's going to run riot there i think. So sad. I sincerely hope there are no real second waves of this. Mind, the way it keeps mutating i think we should all have to get it at some point as any new vaccine will not treat the newer mutations. Time will tell, stay safe all. s.

Di., where do you think the badger beast has come from ? are you close to woodland ? I know most police forces have wildlife officers so it might be a good idea to get in touch for advice.Given your health issues I would hope that it wouldn't be a problem for them
 
Cold soggy and gray, expecting it to warm up later. Di that badger might be living close by your house somewhere, you may need to trap it or call pest control if there is one in your area. The virus does not appear to be going anywhere, and its mutating. I think it maybe a symptom of too many people on the planet, the sickness doesn't surprise me given the poor health of our natural environment such as the state of our forests.
 
I'd completely forgotten that police have wildlife officers. I might do that if he doesn't p off. My neighbours have tried closing up the holes their sides too with just enough room for my hedgepigs. there is the woods around 150 meters away but there are a few residential streets behind us between the trees. Probably brought further afield due to dry weather and no earthworms. I feel a bit sorry for it but i might put food out the front for him if he's starving. Was hoping it was a friendly muntjack deer. No such luck.

less than 100 deaths yesterday, but numbers aren't that accurate over the weekends with under reporting. Protests of Black Lives Matters will probably have spread it far and wide now so i expect numbers will go up soon. There seems to be no end of this.

Are you and Les all right up there, Carol? I'm worried for you.
 
We're good thanks Di., Life for us hasn't really changed in the lock down..I'm getting fed up doing the shopping but that's all .Oh,and the TVs crap.
But I have two new releases by my fave authors to read. Les is doing OK too...….14c but it felt really cold as we cycled along the coast Still far to many people out and about but I expect it will get worse before the summer ends
 
A warm summer day today, but the weather shifts between warm and cold have been rather extreme lately. Expecting more cold and wet later in the week, some places to the north may see some snow. I went grocery shopping yesterday and people are letting their guard down, fewer are wearing masks and self distancing is often ignored. This thing isn't over by a long shot
 
Woke to a rainy day. Overnight was warmer but rainy days always seem colder. Wa and the south are expecting wet and windy weather. NSW and Victoria have bumper grain crops for the first time in years. For the first time all states recorded zero new covid cases today. State border closures are still in place for Qld,NSW, SA, WA and the NT. Governments are holding their breath to see what happens after large gatherings in most states during the past week in support for civil rights. The next couple of weeks will see if there is any outbreaks of the virus. Ron.
 
13c and showery but we really need the rain....we are close to 50,000 deaths here,there's even talk from some quarters that it's more.
Some people here are being rather relaxed about social distancing etc.and are getting quite annoyed when being directed by shop staff....we're keeping our distance and wearing masks and latex gloves and using sanitizer.Why take risks ? More shops opening on Monday but I can see problems in clothes stores etc .I mean people want to browse and take their time,well us girls do anyway. Probably Ron does too.
 
Another cool wet winters day. No quality rain just nuisance showers. Heavier falls expected over the weekend. Carol I'm one of the rocket shoppers. I know what I want and fly in and out of the shop as fast as my training wheels will let me. ( half the time I forget to get half of what I wanted.) Ron.
 
I think we have Australian winter weather, Ron. I've had to put my heating on daily for the past few days. I didn't bother getting the electric blanket out again but i have raked out my winter jimjams. Felt i slept a tad warmer last night. No signs of badger today and i see a hedgie has had diarrhoea. It's either a crohnie like us or it's stuffed something in it's mouth like bread and milk. So pleased one is around and the badger has gone. I simply cannot believe my Blue Tit fledgies. They're so lovely out and about with their parents. Balckbird has now mastered my new feed table with roof and gets in to scoff about 10 live mealworms in his beak before departing happy as larry. He comes as close as 4 foot from me when he comes for his raisins.

Just spoke to oncology and my cancer marker is surprisingly down 3 to 14 from last month. Biggest shift down so far. Can't help but feel it's prob bowel cancer as i have considerable pain and node pain too. I simply have no idea quite what is going on in there. I have more pain each month but my numbers keep falling. I'm now going to start juicing carrots . Mind, i'm not brilliant with fructose but they have great cancer fighting potential too.

Seen a few kiddies off to school. Apart from that looks pretty normal in Northampton when i went for bloods. Bus service is lousy but socially distance seats and i was mainly the only one on there. Northampton Market is back on and loads of shops and people were around and about. Stay safe.
 
Damp and drizzly.The park was very busy but I expect parents are at a loss what to do with the little.....cherubs ! I'm just so grateful that we don't have many living around us.Not that I don't like kids of course,but I couldn't eat a whole one.
Glad Bertie Badger has gone D.,maybe he was one of last years young'uns chased off from the sett ? I hope you're watching Springwatch on BBC2 every night at 8pm
 
Rocket shopper, thats a good term Ron, I shop the same way much like the same as using the public loo. Go in, do what must be done and leave. The weather has turned cold, rains that fell yesterday and last night turned to snow flurries this morning, ran the wood furnace last evening, and the oil furnace for breakfast.
 
Oh, i do love springwatch. I've got my eye on the cuckoo egg in with blackie. Some of the bird journeys are really sad with their nests and chicks, but on the whole really lovely nature.

Spoke to MacMillan nurse today. Ca-125 is still on its way down. It is 14 from 17 last month. Don't know how it happens but i've got strange pains left right and centre. I think my big fear now is what if i had two cancers at the same time? There are a few people that do have more than one at the same time. It would be beneficial if they would allow me a scan so i could know exactly which are the cancer spots and what is not. I'm sort of pleased that it's on it's way down still and very surprised, but i still believe my colon is giving me grief.

Really cold, blustery and intermittent rain, it's not nice out there but i've been bird watching a lot today. Costing me a fortune though. No badger last night. Hopefully with all this sudden rain they will dig up their necessary food,
 
It's been an overcast and humid day. The temperature is 23c currently. I too, like the term, "Rocket Shopper." I happen to be one as well! ;) I'm glad to hear there is some good news, D. Maybe nobody besides us knows it.. but I think most crohnies can attest to the fact that we're here because we're tough nuts! I wish you all the best.
 
Dull, drab and wet. More like late November. Badger was back last night. Most bulbs that are left have not been touched. He'd pushed one plastic container with water out the way. Omg, the impossible badger! think i should hastily plant some flower 'seeds' seeing as my bulbs were scoffed.

yesterday the bird table really became a big hit with parents. Blackbirds, blue tits, sparrows, dunnocks, starlings,....and the jackdaws lol. those live mealworms are carried off about 15 at a time. They've got everything for a full feast. The fledgies are beautiful too.

If i was fast on my feet then i would definitely be a rocket shopper. Just picking up meds today if i can be bothered. This weather entices the duvet.

Much sunnier and warmer today so far. Went to get my medicines, no queuing anywhere. Not as many people out as i was expecting.

No badger last night. I added more water to the container, lol. A hedgie had been at around 10.30 pm last night so i'm relieved i still have one. I have two mr. Blackbirds coming within a couple of feet for raisins and mealworms. I shall have them eating out of my hand soon enough i hope. they probably have different ideas themselves and are only risking it because of their young. I love nature though.
 
Sorry for the doble post, however we are having a great lightning show at the moment. You couldn't light the bush with a flamethrower, so no worries about that. The landslide is continuing and I'm afraid it's getting a little bit worse. At least the vulnerable homes have been evacuated... It looks like there's another one deemed unsafe as well. I wonder if people have insurance for this??? Man, I hope so!
 
If i'm here next year i will put some bird boxes up and hope the local cats don't get them. I'm in a bungalow so i'd have to put them up the top of the outside. My neighbours always see the birds flitting to and fro across their gardens from mine. Well it's still sunny, the washing is dry but the weather forecast suggests that we might be expecting our own good lightning show. I sincerely hope so. Nothing better than a good thunderstorm.
 
14c and misty. The fog horns are groaning from the lighthouses at the mouth of the river so it must be worse near the coast.

Di., A lady in Stroud thought she had burglars as there was a racket coming from downstairs. Yes,it was a badger in her kitchen which got in through the cat flap.It managed to open the cat food container and scoff the lot and also ate an energy bar before she scared it off back through the cat flap.....it left scratches on the surfaces as a thankyou

I see that I forgot to hit the post button; when I came here today my post was still in the preview window from yesterday, I posted it anyways. Another cool night near the freezing point, we will know later if it hurt the berry patches. When that happens black bear wander into people's yards looking for garbage and raiding gardens in search for food. I moved two loads of firewood yesterday, and may do more today.
 
They forecast up to 45mm yesterday, we got 7mm. We really need some rain particularly for those relying on rain water tanks ,buying water in gets expensive and puts a strain on dam levels. It is a bright sunny day today. I have been sleeping just under a sheet the last two nights.Ron.
 
Lovely and sunny this morning. I swear i might venture out as more shops are open. However, if it's anything like when the tips opened then there will be queues whereby people queue for hours. I'm not willing to do that just yet. We didn't get our thunderstorm. No rain whatsoever in fact. I'm going to do a bit in the garden today i think.
 
It is supposed to be clear today but we woke to a solid overcast but no rain. Cold in the southern states but apart from a cold start we have had another very mild winter up here. Still sleeping just under a sheet. I had to get up for a loo trip at 1.30 this morning and the temp was over 18c. Ron.
 
Again, beautifully sunny today. Will sit in the garden and relax. We don't normally have the weather for it. So this year i'm making the most of it as we can't exactly go out. Not even shopping unless we want a 3 hour wait in the queue. thats not for me.
 
Grey and humid and misty, but there are thousands at the coast and the car parks are full .Shopping's a definite no-no. Public loos are still closed.
Just where do the powers that be think visitors and shoppers are "going" ?...…..
 
Carol I could answer your question, but prefer not to. I understand fully what you are going through, it was not easy to find a loo before the pandemic, but its posed additional challenges. For sanitation's sake I always carry an extra roll of loo paper and a big bottle of hand sanitizer in the vehicle, no need to further elaborate.
Looks like a real summer day coming up, I may need the airconditioner. Moved another two more loads of wood yesterday.
 
The sun vanished. Never mind. I sat in and watched an old football match on the television. Have to say i am disappointed not to see all the sports on tv this year. Euro's and Olympics i think will be next year. I'm so worried about the loo's out and about i am not going anywhere unless i have to. Having said that, i am desperate for summer blouses. Think i had too much of a clear out last summer thinking i wouldn't be here. I'll nip to Primark when everyone is over the excitement of queuing for 3 or 4 hours. My legs wouldn't take it lol.

I think the world is in for a second wave of this corona virus. The BLM protests all over the world were too crowded. People aren't wearing masks on transport and even China is closing down part of Beijing.
 
Today was nice, with a high of 23c. It was a mix of sun and cloud with a slight breeze from the south. I took another ride and had a great time. I was mostly on the highway, but I stopped and cruised through a few small towns along the way, waving to everybody who would stop and look. It's just my way of being socially distant... All the while trying to be social about it. ;)
 
Another sunny morning that has turned to a cloudy overcast afternoon. Still no proper rain. I see that Britain is turning to dexamethasone now for severe corona cases. They used to give me Dex (injected into my canula line) as an anti-nausea drug when I was having chemo therapy for cancer. In the end I had to ask them not to do it any more. It is a mega powerful steroid, more powerful than prednisone. Both of these drugs gave me a bad time. My doctors credit my type two diabetes to steroids as well as causing a serious loss of calcium . Another case where the cure is worse than the disease. Ron.
 
18c but no sunshine over here on the east coast......not complaining mind...….

Bucketing down out here. Hopefully the rain will allow that dastardly badger to bugger off from my territory. I know it's been bad with the dry spring but the rest of my bulb were turfed up and eaten last night. Just to amuse me though, i keep my live meal worms in the utility room with the door open for my cat. I noticed a tiny bedraggled Dunnock helping herself the them. She was so wet and worn out i just left her to them, lol. It amused me.

I too had those steroids. Nice to know something helps. I could put up with a few days more of that stuff if it was life or death. Don't tell anyone i omitted day 2 and 3 of steroid taking. Unfortunately the first one goes in IV. I don't do steroids either, Ron.
 
It's 24c in the shade and humid. Not my type of weather... I used to ride horses a lot when I was younger, Carol. Maybe that's the reason it sounds like it's out of a western movie... That and I do live in a western town that still has a law on the books allowing ranchers to run cattle drives through main street every Sunday.
 
Another sunny morning turning to overcast by midday. Carol if the WA weather keeps up Scott will soon be living on the east coast.(blown there). They had another 100kph front come thru today with a fair bit of rain and another due in a couple of days. Trouble is the rain does not go far inland and there is high fire danger where there is high wind and no rain. Chris in the eastern states of Australia (Qld NSW and Victoria) we still have a setup called the The long paddock. It is a free stock route with feed and water so the graziers who can't afford transport can literally walk their stock from the north of the country to the south. It is not used much now but it remains open and it is a very popular tourist route with lots of historic waystations. Ron
 
Omg, it's like Autumn pushing into Winter today. Bucketing down again and a really low grey sky. I'm going to have a spring clean today i think. I'm certainly not going out in this weather. Last night i left my bag of live meal worms slightly open. I'm worried about the result. I think there has been the mass exodus to get under the shelving unit or the fridge/freezer. I'll try putting a bit of food enticement out for them and pray for the return of the wet, bedraggled Dunnock.

I've not ventured out to see badger damage but initial glances show one is intact. Hoping some of my bulbs will pull through too, having been pulled through the soil and bitten, lol. Stay safe all.
 
You're not having a lot of luck lately are you Di. ? Talk about being kicked when your down......No rain here but still cloudy and 16c.
I enjoy the history and geography lessons from the guys,two subjects I wasn't fond of at school....inc. maths and the rest.
I've learned more in my adult life than I ever did at school....
 
We have had some needed warm weather the last couple of days, but next week looks cold and soggy. Soggy...... , the roofer showed up and explained what is wrong with the roof, part of the roof will have to be re done due to lousy workmanship of the last roofer who went bankrupt after doing my house. Another bill to knock another hole into my meager savings. Carol I moved firewood ahead of the deerfly season, they are picking up now, and chances are I will hold off from moving wood for few weeks now. I'll be glad when we get into the better part of summer after the solstice.
 
It was warm here today with a high of 27c and the humidity at 53%... I drank more than three litres of water and Gatorade today, and I'm still thirsty! A couple of those biting flies that bother Buff so much got into the corner of my right eye and died biting my eyeball. I look like I have pink eye on just one side... Cute look for the ladies.
 
Well, another one of those drab, neutral toned Winter pictures outside. Cold too. Numb fingers these past few days. Yesterday i had so many different birds at my feeders it was mayhem. The Great Tits have brought their fledgies along to join the baby Bluetits. I've spotted an extra fluffy juvenile Jackdaw (honestly he had a cute innocent look about his fluffy head and face. The Dunnocks don't carry off anywhere near as many live mealworms as Mr Blackbird and the Squawking Starlings. I haven't seen my Robin in a couple of weeks now. I have to assume it's a she and is sitting on eggs. I now have some lovely Goldfinches turning up which is unusual for my garden. I sent off for another bird feeder which has arrived. It's so big i've had to send off for another sack of bird feed. Hope it has a strong handle with the amount of seed it holds and probably a flock of Jackdaws or Starlings on it too. I wonder how long it will last.

Thank goodness we don't have flies like other nations do. Couldn't fancy batting flies out my way forever. I always feel sorry for African kids and animals. They always seems to be plagued by flies. Mind, Badger was bothersome last night, but i was still awake. What a kerfuffle he creates. I put my bedroom light on and hammered on the window to chase him off. He only turfed up one tub last night so not too bad. He's a bit of a sod though.
 
How about one of those motion sensor barking dog alarms Di., Or a shrieking one,silent to people.Cat won't like it so she'll have to stay indoors at night...….

Well, It's cooling down now from a high of 30c this aft. We discovered that we have a skunk family living in the back yard underneath the shed. I have no issues with a skunk, now that I don't have a terrier. The babies tails are longer than their body... there looks to be three of them, and a momma skunk of course. I left them a couple apples that were past prime. I'm pretty sure they'll like it. Cute little guys.
 
Skunks are good to have around as they control pests like mice. Years ago I had one that became tame and would show up every evening to clean off the dinner plate. Today its the Solstice, I'll make it a day for relaxing. Not so warm out today near 20C, but no rain for now.
 
we are in for a little cold weather mid week. We are still getting a little rain from overnight showers but not enough to fill tanks. We don't have too many town critters. Our main animal ratbags are our native scrub turkeys. The parents build a big mound or detritus and earth in the bush and bury their eggs in the nest. The young dig their way out and get no parental healp. They are a protected species and they know it. They have no fear of people and constantly raid home gardens ,they eat a lot of insects but also a lot of fruit and vegetables. The tourists love them until a camp site they are in suffers a turkey raid. Ron.
 
Looking fine today. Really warm as i went out to feed the birds. Yesterday i noticed that my birds that came here with all their fledgies are not so abundant now. Strangely, i picked up last years diary and read for yesterday last year and i had written in my diary of the sudden lack of fledgies. Spooky! Badger came last night. I saw him out the window. I think with all this rain he is able to acquire his food more readily. I think he just wanted a rummage around, not even tipped my troughs out to eat bulbs.

Can't believe it's solstice already. I have had one social day out this year. The rest have mainly been hospital appointments. I'm bored out of my mind now. Don't think so many of my friends are going to be keen to get out and about though. My usual social gatherings are all cancelled and none are keen to start up. I think i shall have to take that trip to Pompeii and Herculaneum just as an excuse to push my life forwards before it really beats a retreat.

I'm going to plant up some of the plants i got down the local village shop today. The soil is very wet now so i'll be able to get them in without struggling. They'll make up for the missing colour from eaten bulbs lol.

18c today with some heavy rain during the night.We had a walk down the bank to the river and it was abso-bloody-ridiculous. Crowds of folk and not a sign of social distancing anywhere.As we walked back up the bank there were streams of people coming down towards us.We,being polite,usually step into the road but I told Les not to.We are O.A.Ps with hidden disabilities afterall.Most of them just shoved past with a phone in one hand and a coffee in the other......loos were open but not needed today,by me that is.
 
Better day coming up with some sunshine and hopefully it warms up. For the solstice it was gray, damp and cold. I could have slept the day away, but I ended up moving a load of wood before the blackflies became too much. We have similar wildlife Carol; the bears are a problem and so are the beavers, but luckily for the most part the druggies up the road don't wander the area all that much. Seems like every neighborhood has at least one.
 
It's been a fairly cool day. The temperature at noon was roughly 21c, and later we peaked with a high of 24c. Skunks don't seem to eat mangoes, so I offered up another couple apples. Social distancing, washing hands, and using hand sanitizer are what people need to do right now. I have seen similar incidents locally, Carol. Quite frankly, I'm getting disgusted with the members of the public who don't care about others. I think the health authority needs to crack down!
 
Beautifully sunny this morning. Going to have some very good weather this week apparently. I shall look forwards to that. Hope the heat isn't up north for you Carol.

There are plenty of people out and about here in the UK. People seem to enter shops politely then once in just ignore social distancing measure. Most nations reporting lesser numbers have started to see cases go back up, as in the R number. Germany and even Australia have seen cases rise as lockdown loosens. It's obviously that there will be coronavirus on the go for quite a lot of months yet. I'm feeling for the Brazilians and other SA nations. That Jair Bolsorano whatever his name is, is treating it as one bloody great Joke. They are suffering very badly indeed.

If you're going out today, just stay safe. I'd hate to think any of us would get it after such a lockdown and having avoided it like the plague for three or four months.
 
It's not over yet.nor will it be for a long time.We can only do the best for ourselves and hope it's enough.

Cool day and cooler morning tomorrow. It will hit 7c in the morning and they say we could get some light snow on the Qld border ranges. We will also get a strong cold westerly wind. We have had a small rise in covid cases today. NSW had 2 and Vic had 16. The rest of the states had zero. Most of the states still have borders closed , only NSW and Vic don't The prime minister wanted all the borders open but the state premiers said no. Ron.
 
7C this morning, expecting it to go up into the low 20's under partly cloudy skies. The covid numbers have been holding steady in the region, and I wonder how long this will last given the increasing lack of distancing and more people take to the road traveling. The government is allowing Mexican workers to enter Canada to harvest the crops and do the job that Canadians refuse to do. With all the people out of work collecting social assistance I am quite disgusted that our government allows foreign workers to do the job our own people should be doing.
 
Today began with a start of 7c... It's currently 25c in the shade. The skunks came outside while I was there to see them today. All FOUR of the babies strutted around the shed, then ate the rest of the mango and apple. Lastly they took a drink of water from the bowl before returning to the skunks barracks. Another good day on the right side of the dirt.
 
We have the same problem re: workers .Some folk turn up thier nose to a decent job with a wage packet...Why should they when they can get freebies from the government ? The number of young mothers is getting ridiculous.They won't take birth control because they can get a nice little home and a smart tv...,smart phone,manicure,hair do and tattoos and pay with their benefits...….just like their mates. I won't even mention the fathers

That's wonderful Chris, that family will keep your yard pest free for the most part. The horseflies are out with the deerflies, when they are young they are fast, and the big ones really drill, making it hard to do any job that requires both hands. They know exactly when to land on me when I am trying to make a long, but straight cut with the sawzall.
 
Cool mornings (7c) but sunny days around 20c. No rain in sight. In Australia we rely on backpackers for fruit picking. With covid and time limit on visas our borders are closed so the fruit growers are starting to get to get a bit anxious about labour. Singapore relies on a labour force of outside workers and unfortunately it resulted in a 2nd wave of the virus when they stared to let them in again this year. Victoria remains our only concern with community spread and those small clusters are all in Melbourne. The regional areas are pretty well all covid free and the fruit growers in that area are not keen to get pickers from the city. Ron.
 
Today has been very warm and muggy, with temperatures in the high 20's. Seven Americans who were supposedly bound for Alaska with only essential stops allowed, got caught in the national park near me and they all got $1200 tickets. That should be fun to explain when they end up crossing back, either in Alaska or State side. It's about the best I've seen out of the RCMP lately.
 
I'd be glad to send them over Carol, it might take a few jumbo jets worth, but we still have more. Send some of that summer heat over here in return, we could use some as I had to put on the fire again last night. Temperature this morning was only 6C with day time temps barely making the 20C mark.
 
Absolutely baking early this morning. this is more like the med or Caribbean. I'm not complaining but i am feeling guilty about feeling great when i know the likes of Carol suffer badly. Not me lol. The pics online from the national press show packed out beaches that look no different than the height of a heatwave in August. Not many are in work or school yet so it's completely packed. So pleased i'm in a village. The lunacy, and what with the protests, it's getting to the point when this just won't go away and govts will just have to allow the world to get back on with it and hope the cases dwindle rather than increase.

Badgers are protected and they've increased the size of their sett under my neighbours house. The plastic containers with water aren't doing the job now as it's just as though he's doing some Arnold Schwartzenegger work out bulking up his brawn to continue to ravage my garden. My neighbour fixed my gate this morning so badger can't push through. But i didn't get to feed hedgehogs last night. Haven't seen any hedgie poo lately and i don't want to encourage him for live mealworms (or bulbs).

I remember the 70's well. All those ladybirds lol. Punk Rock jelly sandles melting on the pavement lol, i got laughed at tee hee. Oh the memories.
 
Don't feel guilty for enjoying the heat wave Di., you deserve some warmth on those old bones me darlin'.
I'm staying indoors today and don't feel I'm missing anything.Thunderstorms on the way for tomorrow and a drop in temps and rain for the weekend...….Scott txd it was 2c early this morning.They were on their way to pick up a horse for the girls..Delila….why why why ?
 
Better weather is on the way and expecting some beach weather in the coming days, I 'll be glad to get some warmth upon my bones. By the looks of things by the way people are moving about the pandemic is over. However, I fear the pandemic may have other ideas.
 
Cool and clear here, getting cloudy from tomorrow. Carol south west WA has had front after front coming thru the past month ,COLD fronts! There is a common saying in Aust that the wind is so strong it would blow a dog of its leash. Horses are much heavier:) Buff I agree with your fears , people still think it is just a cold but the evidence in Australia is that those that survive often have severe complications requiring physical rehabilitation. There is so much misinformation and urban myths coming from this pandemic. The simple truth is that we are better not to get it. Ron.
 
There was an estimated 5oo,ooo on a beach in the south of England yesterday despite being asked to stay way.Traffic was deadlocked and there was standing room only on the sand. they still arriving at 6pm.The police were at a loss what to do.Insults were hurled.Also huge street parties
in towns ending in battles with he law....Another w arm one here......
 
Sunny but with big black clouds passing over. We are expecting the rains to be heavy at times and perhaps with thunder and lightening. Why do we never really get a good thunderstorm? I wish we would have them, they make me feel good for some reason. The beach scenes in the papers was of one very packed Bournemouth beach. I expect most beaches are going to be like that. This and the protests will spread the coronavirus around again. it only took one person to bring it here in the first place and look what that did. It does annoy me greatly.

Stay safe and stay away from the crowds.
