HaHaHA.....typical IrishmanNice day here today 16C and sunny ,
That's crazy you have to wait that long for a dentist Carol , I could always get an appointment with my dentist within a day or two if needed ,the problem is cost ,
I was lucky there's a dental school only about 20 miles away and if you're will to be a patient for a student you get the work done at a fraction of the cost ,
I need 5 crowns two bridges and 2 root canals , privately this would cost me around €12000, in the dental hospital it's 3000 so worth the extra time it will take , its well supervised so no worrys there ,
Knowing my luck I'll kick the bucket after it's done but I'll be a handsome corpse with a lovely smile .
That oldie sounds like the chopping machine my darling fiance/husband encouraged me to use back in the day....love knows no bounds.....13c and raining now at 5-30pm...hospital tomorrow with Les for his prostate blood tests.Taxi booked and shopping list written for afterwards....weather permitting. It's not urgentThe coffee shops here are highway robbery, but one would not know it for the traffic coming and going from those places. One can make coffee at home for a fraction of the cost. Yesterday I put the new wood splitter to work, and was surprised at what it could do, its slower, quiet but it gets the job done. Its not at all like the machinery I worked with when I was young that ran fast, noisy and had no safety features at the local sawmills.
12 C change is in the air.
The injections are easy enough to do yourself once you get used to it , hope it goes wellHope all goes well for you Buff!!! 79 degrees and beautiful today, helps too that it's the last day of our weekend!!! Anymore, the closer it gets to fall it usually will be rainy on our weekend. Got to enjoy it while we have it!!!
Also, today is injection day for me. First time doing it on my own at home. Just warming up the medication now and getting stuff ready to go...
I feel your pain Bufford , hopefully we'll get back with the energy levels ,-2C with a heavy frost, the aurora put on a good show last night, they were bright enough that I could see without a flashlight. It was chilly this morning and the cat and I cuddled up in bed and I got a good sleep for a change. I feel the same way Tony, that surgery took a lot out of me, the body is just not the same anymore. At least it starts and runs.
At least the choice ye have is better than south of the border , forgot to say the student dentist I have is there's at least 3 of them there studying,That is a bargain Tony, They advertised furnace oil at the reserve for $1.24 liter by pumping it myself, it costs a lot more to have it delivered. Last year I paid $1.44. No break for the people, the federal government will ratchet up the carbon tax again next year. That carbon tax is about inflicting as much financial pain as possible to break the average person. They have succeeded, many on low income and seniors sit it dark cold homes throughout the winter which is why I am forced to burn wood. On the upside, our prime minister is still stumped as to why his party is now the most unpopular in Canada while he constantly flies around the world on the public dime sunning himself in front of the news cameras and lights.
I finally got the courage to lift the heavy airconditioner out of the window, it went well, I simply set it on the table beside the window until next summer. There is no way I could carry it over to the closet. 0C overcast. Back to the wood effort later.
And don't you love...hahaha I bet most of it was for you,I know for a fact Les costs more to feed than me,despite cooking all his meals from scratch...(at 6 in the morning )...there's a storm heading your way over the Atlantic, gets to us on SundayHeavy rain and just feels cold , 10C ,I was dragged shopping this morning and came home with a much lighter wallet
Not even a pair of socks and I do all the cooking as well from scratch but being honest she does all the heavy stuff nowadays , so can't really complain ,And don't you love...hahaha I bet most of it was for you,I know for a fact Les costs more to feed than me,despite cooking all his meals from scratch...(at 6 in the morning )...there's a storm heading your way over the Atlantic, gets to us on Sunday
No storm yet Carol , really lovely today mostly sunny with a few heavy showers 15C ,storm due to hit tomorrow and with big tides at the moment should be a lot of flooding, kept busy today ,minding another dog (Bernaise ) , wife is a soft touch and love the dog ,but some people take advantage of this ,minding a, dog for 10 days but they gave us a shopping voucher for €60 ,woohoo,Les was a landscape gardener before all his little health problems and we had all the gear.He loved his blower especially.
It's a good time of year for your dear lady to get waffing. We've been shopping today and I bought him some winter undercrackers and a fur lined hoody.....but I did get meself a couple of pairs of PJs so won't begrudge him.
12c and sunny, but feels warmer....has the storm off the Atlantic reached you yet ?
Thing is Tony once you say Yes that's it.You can only say No to people you don't much like, and when they ask why ? you reply with "I don't have to tell you why,"...You could get a T-shirt with a slogan on but as people have a knack of taking us unawares, you'd have to wear it 24/7No storm yet Carol , really lovely today mostly sunny with a few heavy showers 15C ,storm due to hit tomorrow ,minding a, dog for 10 days but they gave us a shopping voucher for €60 ,woohoo,

I love chooks C-sg,I find them very relaxing, but then,I don't have to live with them..Do you need to knit little sweaters for them in the cold weather ?.....hope you're keeping wellSounds like my Husband with our chickens! For the most part he loves them and we treat them like the kids we never had. Ours are pretty old and are surprised that their still going strong, but are losing their feathers right now for the year. But, drive us nuts most of the year with their singing and fighting in the nest!!!
It's supposed to be 71 degrees today and is beautiful right now. But, supposedly will start raining again later today.
Just for that here's a photo of the two of them ,just Louis and Ellie ,everything is crossed at the moment as Ellie is due to go into season in the next few weeks , hopefully he'll be back home by then ,hope ye survived the storm without damage ,He's a smasher and I would have him....and I think you're kidding that you're not fussy about dog sitting you just like a whinge..wink

Ah feck that's a nuisance , patients are always the last the know ,A nice sunny day at 14c..we had to trail up to the hospital to pick up one of my scripts.....the brand of mesalazine i've been using for years have stopped manufacturing but nobody thought to warm the patients who depend on it even though I requested a repeat
over two weeks ago. There's always something eh? But not to worry, the Govnt have a 10yr plan to make things better hahaha I can't wait....
Hey Bufford there's normally a drain at the back of the fridge ,it got clogged in our and did not run properly ,I got a bendy piece of wire and ran it through the hole and its running well since ,12C almost summer like, with a thunderstorm last night. I woke up to a fridge that is warm and constantly running, the last thing I need. It appears frosted up, hopefully defrosting it will solve the problem, if not it could be a bit of a hunt to figure it out, these new fridges do not have the familiar mechanical parts such as the clock that usually is the problem when it no longer cycles between run and defrost. I managed to tarp over the winter woodpile until my body said no more for the day.
That's still cheaper than here , our is €0.93@ ltr which = $1.42 Canadian but we pensioners here in Ireland we're getting about $1450 a year from the government to help with fuel and this year we're getting about another 1000 to help with cost of living increases .I picked up a load of furnace oil and topped up the tank after taking the truck in for its annual rustproofing. The price was $1.35 per liter, the cheapest in years, but still highway robbery with all the taxes. What I could not get into the tank, is stored in the shed. The mornings are getting dark and paltry, next weekend the clocks go back, brighter mornings and a longer evening with the earlier sunsets. Lots of houses are decorated for Halloween, and I picked up some halloween chocolates to indulge on myself.
I used to hollow out a turnip lantern for Scott (50yrs ago) with an old wax candle stum to light his way,and him and his mates were back and forwards for a light..... until 7pm !!!.No such thing as trick or treating, they were happy with a toffee apple....Our fuel help is £300 but some pensioners are being barred due to having savings etc....this is due to the new gov. being left in the sh*t financially from the Tory's (allegedly)That's still cheaper than here , our is €0.93@ ltr which = $1.42 Canadian but we pensioners here in Ireland we're getting about $1450 a year from the government to help with fuel and this year we're getting about another 1000 to help with cost of living increases .
I'll be glad when halloween is over ,
Too Americanised now , when we were young there was no trick or treating, it was all in the home where people just played games and told stories and not a sweet in sight apart from toffee apples ,
