What is YOUR weather like today??

It's 16c and cloudy here at the moment. Sounds like rain is in the forecast... we shall see about that. The lawn here is getting nice and green, that's always a welcome change for me! I don't mind mowing lawn unless its really hot outside, in fact I enjoy it it this time of year.

It says 19c.Had a nice 2hr cycle and had a thermos of coffee under the blossoming cherry trees and listened to the birdsong.Idyllic.But cycling towards home and the coast there was a definite chill in the air.Or perhaps I was cycling too fast.hahaha.
Di., if you haven't already watch BBCs Earth From Space (wed.) then you must.Absolutely mind boggling. The satellite, 600kils up,picked out wildlife, and even zoomed in to individual animals. Also the kids at the Shoalin academy were amazing.

I cut my first wood yesterday, and after 30 years of using the old saw I am going to buy the new one which will be the same power (72cc) as the old one, but almost 3 Kg lighter which is a lot. For some reason (sarcasm) the saw is getting heavier each year. I've been wanting a new saw for a very long time. I eyed up the Husky 72 a couple years ago, I'm going to treat myself to it for it may be my last saw.

These saws are not cheap $1200, but for that money it still would not be enough to fill a regular sized residential oil tank, I could never afford to heat with oil alone and the federal government in power wants to tax it even more.

Buff, the hard work starts already. Gotta be ready for Winter, right? I'm just planting up seeds. it's an easy task and some are breaking the soil already. The sweet peas that is.

Two hour bike journey, Carol? Omg, I just couldn't muster the energy. Mind, I shall look out for that program. Sounds really interesting. Amazing how technology is. They're spying on us. You on your bike, me planting seeds, Buff cutting wood, and Tuff mowing the lawn. Sounds like Ron isn't going out to be spied on with that weather. Mind, nice they have a bit of rain now and again.

Lovely today. Really started to have a good chuck out. Struggled to the charity shops as there was nowhere near to park. Then on the way home I noticed there's a car boot in the next village very soon. Would have been easier to park and could have made a bit of money. That's life!

20c and sunny.Going to walk across to the park later to feed the birds. The ducks will be at sinking point what with it being school hols.but the crows and wood pigeons never say no.Then we'll find a seat and watch the world go by...wearing earplugs to drown out screaming children, bless them.....hahaha

Di., the 2hr cycle included a half hour coffee break...

Beautiful day today. Lots of hedgie activity last night. I think they are 'partying', lol. I'm thinking either I have a cold or perhaps i'm starting to suffer hay fever at a later age. Not good. Sneezing, snotty and feeling a tad foggy.

It's good to take a half hour break when cycling. I used to love cycling. Unfortunately the right pedal hurts the ileum too much.

I had a productive afternoon on the wood pile yesterday, its wood cutting season here, although it is spring time the race is on to get enough wood in before the next winter. I don't move very quick, so it takes me a lot longer to get it done. Everyday now will be the wood cutting effort, and try to get as much done before the biting flies hatch.

23c.calm and sunny....I'm trying very hard not to moan,it's far too early in the season and I don't want to be barred from the thread. It's a few degrees warmer inland and in the south so holiday makers, campers and day trippers will be soaking up the sun and the traffic will be nose to tail....oh,deep joy....not !!!

Lovely and sunny day here and am having a quiet day at home. Lots of hedgies last night in front and back gardens now and I've seen/heard them in the gardens of both neighbours. Hopefully in a few months there will be plenty of little hoglets accompanying their mums around the garden.

I'm pleased I don't live in Bude these days. Couldn't stand the tourists. The hustle and bustle of families with screaming and demanding kids was a nightmare. I don't envy you, Carol.

Still only 6C, Buff. I'll send some heat over perhaps, but it could slow you down on the cutting of wood. I think you are gonna have to get the beavers on your side and train them up to be of use to you.

It says 17c but it's a lot warmer out of the shade...….for fun we drove to the village and along the sea front.Absolute chaos !!! hahaha. Not a parking space to be had or a seat outside or inside a pub or food outlet, and there are plenty of both.:drink:

Just thought I'd mention ANOTHER thing I dislike about summer...sun block cream.I really need it but I hate to use it.I'm sure I'll think of something else in the coming months so watch this space.:ylol:

I was down to my underwear and a T shirt and got a lot of sun on my body yesterday while cutting wood. The double reflection of the sun off of the snow put a good tan on my body. I got quite a bit done, today will be more of the same.
The chipmunks are running about, and the geese are flying north earlier than normal by nearly 2 weeks.

Lovely weather again here. My neighbour mowed my lawn the other day and it's grown 3 inches already. It's also filled with dandelions. The weeds are growing quicker than my seeds and i've discovered slugs in my greenhouse enjoying my flower shoots. Might have to shut a hedgehog in there to eat them (not really).

Buff, i see you're the first to get the tan of the year. Strange with your coldest climate area. Go to snowy Canada to get your tan!

I used to tan at the top of the local ski hill, there were some bunch of sun seekers up there! Bikinis Too ;) We used to love it when there was a temperature inversion. To the layman it means that during an inversion, warmer air is held above cooler air... The normal temperature profile with altitude is inverted. It's 15c here currently. Who knows about the top of the ski hill though!

Buff.in his underwear and you in a bikini Chris....the mind boggles hahaha.

12c with hazy sun.Have been for a peddle and what a difference a day makes.Lots of parking spaces on the coast made us want to go home for the car and park, just'cos we could..Did some off roading and sat on a fallen tree in the woods for our coffee.I have to say though a smoother trunk would have been a bonus.....

During the winter months I have a good tan on my face from the time I spend crosscountry skiing. Sometimes I am asked if I was on a vacation south. The sun is powerful at any time of the year.
I already miss the skiing, back to the wood pile in the afternoon.

Not as sunny and warm as the last two days, but not bad. My sweet peas are growing amazingly. I swear its 2cm per day. Others are starting out, but I think some of my seeds are not growing due to age. I have weeds growing in them! Mind, they do grow as well as sweet peas.

Tidied a bit of the over grown garden. The hedgies won't be able to hid in the stinging nettles any longer! As for the ivy, bine weed and dandylions well, at least dandylions add a bit of colour.

Rain on and off tomorrow, because i'm hoping to get out.

Heavy showers every day and constant SE trade winds rarely under 20 knots. Starting to get cabin fever, my kayak feels abandoned. Haven't seen or heard anything from Merv for a while , I hope he is ok. Ron.

Am off out for tea with friends today. Lovely and sunny at the moment, but will take brolly anyway. We're off to a national trust property. Whooopeeee.

Ron I've been wondering about both you and Merv.and was going to query you're absence.Good to hear from you,and hope Merv's well.We can only hope he's off on an adventure (not a medical one of course)

11c here, dry so far, but maybe rain and thunder the next few days.

Hopefully everyone is doing well. Its a wet day here, and after going at the wood pile for the past few days this might be a break for me. There is other work I can do around here.

Hi Everybody,
I had a few 'ordinary' days, but I am OK, thank you. Such things happened when I am nearing the end of a 'Stelara' treatment cycle.

Cloudy today, but at least the heavy showers have ceased. It is around 25* and a touch humid.

11c and raining at present. It's going to get worse for a couple of days but the shoppings done and I've a good book, and of course my crohnie famiiy chat to.What's not to love ?

Yesterday became a time out, I needed the rest. Its going to be a decent spring day, the snow is going down fast and last night I could hear the distant roar coming from the stream which is running high now.

The worst day of my life. Carol. Not a good day at all! And I hve to cope with that! I knew I had to put my windscreen wipers on, occasionly away from the hospital. I cant tell you todays weather, I don't think I noticed it

Ah, i'm awake and that means i'm alive, lol. My fingers are a tad on the white/numb side. Think i'm that way on the inside too. So, it's not raining. No sun yet. My seeds are sprouting, it's been me versus them for a little while. I will see them bloom. Some trays seem to have weeds only. So I shall buy more and plant them up. I will beatify this planet a tad before I go.

I got fucking drunk yesterday as I had to go to the hospital that has neglected to do preventative surgery for two years. Saw the gynae last year and all was clear. Not now though. I walked right out of that fucking appointment and told them they all had Munchausen by proxy. Have to find another hospital now. Ovarian is like a liquid cancer. Straight into the blood and around the body.

Sorry to vent, i'm just feeling like i'm a lost cause. If Crohns wasn't bad enough.

Right, I have this day and i'm going to get on with it too. Seeds, birds, oh, hedgies were around last night. I got so pissed and balling my eyes out i'd gone to bed and slept. I forced myself up to feed those hedgies, lol. Then I carried on boozing and balling my eyes out again. I'm ok really. Hoping your day is good.

I am sorry to hear your news Di. My only advice is to wait to see what you are fighting before you start swinging. Definitely find some different medicos and find out what is going on . Take good care of yourself you are not a lost cause just alone , sick and frightened. I've been there and sometimes it doesn't work out how you think it will, Hugs Ron.

12c and sunny.Had a cycle up to and around the Marina and the adjoining park before the wind and rain arrives. The peace and beauty of the newly green park lifts the spirits, not that they were low today mind you.Di., I'm just going to PM you.

Its a dark valley you are venturing through right now Spooky. Try to find some peace with the small things that provide you joy like the hegies and garden. Work though it, for you are a strong person who has gone through a lot in life rather than beating yourself up.

Yesterday it approached 20C under sunny summer like skies, today there is wet snow on the ground and it is coming down. Typical spring weather for the time of year.

I was going to ask you if you had been blown off your bikes. As I get older I really don't like the howling wind. Not too much rain as yet, oh, and I've put the heating on as my fingers were numb again.

The chill is in the air and snow is once again in the forecast. -8C this morning under clear skies. I bought the new chainsaw and it is a beast, the kind of professional saw mean't for wood cutting. Its much lighter and more powerful than the old one, and will help greatly with the firewood effort. Anything that will help take the pressure off of my abdomen and back.

Isn't it a nice feeling when you know you've made a good purchase? Give it some Buff, it'll make winters more bearable knowing you've managed to get the load cut. Probably a really good investment.

The wind is still on the go here, with showers and my heating is back on. We don't even have -8C here, lol.

Colder and snow with hail, (which caught me with a good few) late this afternoon. There were some sunny breaks with light cloud cover. It's 9c currently and mainly clear skies. All is well.

I've upped my minerals and vitamins and today I have awoken much, much happier. I also feel as though I have more energy.

Dull, low lying cloud and threat of rain as i'm sorting all my winter washing to put away till next year, which of course, will bring some kind of beast from the east.

Seedlings are growing nicely and i'm going to pot some on today.

12c,calm and sunny.Went to the park for a quiet walk....and it was pandemonium !!!
Dancers, singers,Birds of prey, face painting, fancy dress etc.and a million darling children dashing around on bikes and scooters, screeching loudly, while the parents chatted on the phone or took photos.Utter bliss Hah.!!! Summertime.....

I put the battery into the ATV and rode it up and down the driveway in an effort to break up the remaining snow so that I can park closer to the house, but it will take time to melt. The air is icy and the forecast is for some kind of snow and rain throughout the week.
More wood cutting today, the new saw is a pleasure to use, faster, lighter less vibration what is not to like. Should have bought it years ago.

Right on about the new Husky, Buff! I like our new(er) Stihl Saw. It's a dream compared to the old one. I went up the mountain for a motorcycle ride today and it was a little chilly but great fun. It's 10c currently with lots of sun down in the valley bottom.

A slightly foggy morning here in the midlands. Seeds still growing well and hedgies loving the food I put out.

I'm aiming to have a busy day doing this and that, but my 'to do' list is looking a tad long.

Diane, one job a day is all you need to do.It gets overwhelming if you try to do it all at once. It's a nice feeling when it's done though eh ?

Chris,I got quite excited when you mentioned Buffs.Husky...I thought he'd got a puppy .Oh well. sigh !!!! 13c and sunny today.

I won't be cutting wood today as it is snowing steadily -3C and this snow will be around for awhile. Not quite a puppy Carol, but I do have close to 18 lbs of loving orange striped cat, enough cat to make a good substitute for a Husky.

An 18lb cat! does he hunt huskies and eat them? When is your Spring going to arrive in Canada. We're nearly into May.

Turned out quite sunny here today. Pulled some weeds out. Been chucking tape cassettes, more books are going to charity shops, along with clothes and a load of bric-a-brac. Quite cathartic really. I'm going to live minimal I think.

17c but a slight chill breeze off the sea.Had a very pleasant bike ride with a bit off roading.I had to remember to keep my mouth closed (not easy) due to flying insects. But there were bluebells and buttercups and birdsong and bees. The only spoiler was that the orange I normally take for my break was rotten....How did I not notice that.

Di., I love a sort out.I've just donated two bags to the Sally Army today and more to be sorted. My hubby has a mortal fear of me chucking his "good" twenty yr.old favourite clothes out. That's what the council dump is for.

Spring in this region is one of weather variances where we get everything tossed into the wash. We received just under 10 cms, today the sun is out and this snow will be gone soon. However, more of this sloppy weather is on its way. Once we get past the solstice things improve, but until then we will still have to cope with the wildfire and biting fly season yet to come.

Buff, is that the Summer solstice? Omg, we look forwards to Spring solstice! The flowers are out by then. My tulips have already died. I'm feeling for you in the 'cold' zones. Carol and Ron might like your temps. But, me, no thanks.

Carol, I think i might be a little like ur hubby. I'm looking at fb marketplace to sell the clothes and shoes i never did wear in 20 years, lol. I'd like to raise a little money for wildlife charity. There's none of those around our way. So i'd prefer to sell cheap and give money to the charities i support. Mind, i can't pass by a charity shop just looking for a book to read. So i give to all charities. That's the way i see it. I've lived a little on the cheap due to my health and my income (part time work only). I needed those that donated to charity and quite a lot has gone to other charities already.

Today was beautiful. I had booked a mini bus trip with friends. We went to the Peak District for the day. Was lovely, just a tad too long for my energy levels. I think we Crohnies know about energy levels. On the way home i so wanted to sleep, but to be at home and sleep. I didn't get tetchy with anyone on the trip, none of my friends knew how i hurt, ached and just wanted to be home. We smiled, joked, the sun was good, and not too hot. I love a trip out. I was never too fit for them, little did i realise. God, i had a lot to learn so many years ago with just Crohn's disease. Now i'm older and feeling gaunt and in blast beruffled plume. The dandylions are amazing this year, as are the bluebells. Wow, how the seasons have changed.

I'm tired and i hope to sleep well. Thanks for being here friends. I'll probably tell you my weather tomorrow.

Last sunday was dry but since then we have had showers every day. Everything in the unit is going mouldy . Another long weekend coming up . I was hoping to get out in the yak but wind and rain is expected to increase. have to go to the hospital on Tuesday for a cardiac review. Ron.

I hope all goes well at the appointment, Ron. My grandfather had a bad heart too. However he was a strong hearted man in many aspects of life. He fought WW2 as a sergeant and lived to tell the tale. (he only talked about the good times during that period)

It's a colder than usual day here today... But then again, what's unusual in these parts? Or anywhere else for that matter! We are sitting at around 9c in the shade currently.

Had a lovely day yesterday. Was lovely and warm though i took my mac and brolly as showers were forecast. I went off with a few friends to the Peak District. Was a minibus mini tour. Loved it. Shame about my menopausal moods though, lol.

Nice and sunny out today too. Will potter in the garden.

13c and full cloud.Temps dropping for a few days then no doubt a heat wave will show up to frazzle me.It would be ok if temps rose gradually,so we could adapt to warmer weather, but they go from chilly to hot in a day......I'm not whinging,we are soooo fortunate compared with a lot of countries.Just making an observation.

Ron & Merv you're not as chatty as we're used to,hope your both OK.

Change of seasons never treats me well Carol and the weather is not helping with constant wind and rain. The night time temps are still regularly in the twenties. I have not thought about getting a blanket out yet and we are into may. I can't remember the last good nights sleep that I've had. Ron.

9c with a covering of thin cloud and a few v.light showers.
Ron,Scott was complaining about a (and I quote) bittlerly cold 15c yesterday.I can't print my reply as I'd be barred. But you get my drift...
Di., Wed.ch.5...Saving Britains Hedgehogs. Steve Backshall and Brian May.Make a note.

Oh, i shall have a watch of that. Had the usual couple of hedgepiggies huffing at each other last night. Was wondering if one was Big Dave, lol. I can only imagine.

0C with another 3 cms of fresh snow overnight. Same old weather, it snows, it melts and then repeats. Its been a long miserable spring, I hate spring because it is so miserable in this region with the cold and dampness it brings, and we have a ways to go before the summer unfolds. Once we get into summer by then that the worst for the year is behind, and the deck chairs are out.

I managed to get outside during the afternoon when we got a break and the sun came out. The snow has melted back enough that I could start up the brush saw and clean up part of my fire lines.

Tuff has not been here for quite awhile, I hope thing are going okay.

Woke to another day of overcast and showers. I cringe at weather like this with constant light rain. I know what will happen if a significant rain event comes thru and I'm not in the mood for bailing, Ron.

Had a lovely day out with friends to a stately home. Weather held until we got home.

Sunny, grey clouds, bloody freezing, so heating is on.

Hope Tuff is ok.

Really cold here too (for May) There was hail earlier today and snow is expected on high ground, although more than likely just a dusting. It's May Day holiday weekend, when pretty girls dance around the Maypole and full grown blokes (Morris Men)dance with bells on their knees, waving an inflated pigs bladder.(don't ask).
Apparently this holiday was a gift to the "workers" with thanks, from a past Prime Minister.
Nowadays he'd more than likely add an extra work day to the week.

Yesterday the sun was out and the feeling of spring in the air, then came a dusting of snow last night that promptly burned off with the morning sun. A better day is shaping up, giving me an opportunity to cut more wood.

We finally have a forecast for five fine days, pity that they are work days. We dropped to 15c overnight Carol , still only a sheet at night tho. Ron.

9c and grey. But it's ANOTHER holiday weekend so what's new ? The coming week doesn't look much better either so might have to get the winter woollies out of storage.

Sun and singing birds for the moment. My seedlings are mainly looking good. Had to shoe mrs blackbird out my green house yesterday. She was perched on the 15kg sack of mealworms. Had to open the door wide and go round the back to frighten her from the outside. Off she flew.

Has anyone messaged Tuff? Hope all is ok there.

Weather is manageable. Cloudy, no rain today, but getting a little chilly. I have a pulse. Say No More... C'est La Vie.

That's the way to do it Merv.and the rest of us....

GET UP.SURVIVE.GO BACK TO BED and look back on the day and say to yourself "Well, that wasn't as bad as it might have been".:ghug:

Merv the main thing is that its ticking, anything else is a minor issue by comparison.

Had a good day yesterday, the last of the stubborn snow on the driveway is finally melting, and I can resume using the summer parking spot closer to the house.
Going to cut more wood today

Bit chilly first thing, but developing into a nice sunny day. This the second time in a month that we have been without a landline or mobile telephone service. Bosnia has a more reliable set up! This is not a State where you need medical help in a hurry!

At least, looking on the bright side, we are not getting calls from the subcontinent to tell the there is something wrong with our computers.

I went to the cadiac clinic this morning. The doctor said that on the results he could go ahead with a procedure to eliminate random electrical impulses in my heart but he is not convinced that it is necessary . What a tosser. He wants to see me again in a year, Probably to pay for his holiday that year. Ron.

Look on the bright side Ron,at least you know you've got another year and lots of fishing and yaking to look forward to.:rosette2:

When the news is not urgent I take it as a green light from the doctor to continue life as usual. That is about the best it gets. Today is a bright sunny day, another one for the wood pile effort.

I drove 375 KM today for an optometrist appointment. Everything went well and my eyes are healthy. It was mostly sunny with a dash of rain here and there. Dad and I got mother some books to read, she really likes Danielle Steel. A good day all in all.

My optitian is a ten minute walk into town Chris. but I know you'll have lots of things that I don't,like wildlife etc.A nice touch bringing your Mother books,I hope you don't have to cook your own dinner when she gets engrossed....

6c and grey again but at least it's dry after 24hrs of rain....

Only two days of fine weather left then back to wind and rain. There is a low out in the Coral sea that has the potential to become a late season cyclone. Another one has just formed in the Timor sea north of Darwin. Very unusual for may. It is expected that our temps are going to warm up high 20c's during the day and above 20c at night. Ron.

That's a long watys for a doctor's visit Chris and probably beautiful scenery, your mother enjoys your gifts makes for a good day. Its been snowing here overnight through into the morning with about 5 cm on the ground. Its not uncommon for the area to receive late season snow in May.
