what makes you happy?

these are my quick fixes for a happy life

skydive with mates ..nothing serious but a fun jump which we can muck around

talking to good mates (especially my next door neighbour, 9yrs younger but a great laugh)

Music. MGMT - time to pretend, Big Pink - velvet, Empire of the Sun - Walking On A Dream

Cooking, Anything that is made from scratch whether spag bol, curry or a fish dish, if i put time a effort into it and it turns out pretty good it makes me feel like iv acomplished something.

Maybe I could have put no flare ups but to me its something thats pretty much out of my control, and its either a good time or bad... whatever i feel like the points above makes me happy no matter what my crohns is doing

So the question is... whats yours??

well good food that I cooked up yes for sure.

but overall I have to say Progress. As long as I am moving forward with whatever issue is at hand I feel good about myself. Even if it is a crappy thing as long as I am moving it forward "is alright" :D

hmmmm...what makes me happy.....

Spending time with the ones I love......
Getting out riding - usually by myself - and Nature.....nothing like meandering down the trail and coming upon a deer or other wild animal.....and just listening to Nature......

A job well done.....at work I can deal with an emergency at the drop of a hat (or at the burning of the popcorn! lol).......knowing that we have been able to get things back running smoothly, and no one has gotten hurt.....is a feel-good experience for me. Stressful while it is going on, yes, and sometime after....but still good.....

Playing music on any instrument, they are all fun.haha
Listening to music
Parkour
Hiking
Apologetics
Going to church

First of all, what's parkour?

My current thing that makes me happy are my brand spanking new sneaks with the sequins on them!! They just make me smile :)

Parkour is moving through your environment as quickly and efficiently as possible. If you look up David Belle in District B19 then you can see kind of what Parkour is. It's pretty difficult. I can't wait to get my stoma so I can go back to training.

Fluffy clouds.
Latin dancing.
Balcony gardening.

A VERY important one I forgot.....watching my daughter....play, sleep etc.....even thinking about her puts a smile on my face!!!!!

What makes me happy is that after all these years struggling with my daughter about University she finally pulls off a 4.0! You think that makes me happy.. you betcha! :panda:

Things that make me happy -

My kids, my boyf Mark, my sister Andrea, my friends
Eating, Chocolate, live music, concerts, festivals, sunshine, flowers, my garden, and getting thro to one of my ASD pupils always makes me happy, feel like I've achieved something!
getting new clothes and shoes makes me happy, holidays in the sun, and school holidays! Christmas makes me happy, and most of all, being pain free, makes me delirious with happiness! hoping I'm in remission, then I'll be HAPPY!!!!

When my friends come back from uni :) The Sun. Getting my hair done. Drama/Performing. I agree with Astra being pain free!

On a day to day basis, fresh coffee and chocolate (don't seem to get reflux anymore... all the repercussions happen lower down)

On a more occasional basis, going on holiday with Mrs SJ... doesn't even have to be anywhere exotic... we're going to Scarborough for a few days in May... it's as good as two weeks in the Med (almost)

Hey Penny!

This is cracking news and would make me Happy too!:)
She deserves A+ after all the hard work she's put in!
Well done xxx

Thanks Joan! I knew she had the brains and I knew she could do it but she was afraid of failing and then what? So she knows she has the full capacity, and being a Kenesthetic learner, she figured that out on her own. Problem is she also does so amazing in Psychology, I keep telling her, done analyse me lol. Proud of her tho. She will become a doctor someday, not sure of what. Thanks Joan, you are such a nice person!;)

New shoes.

Yes!!!!!!!!!

After two weeks of working out kind-of consistantly, I'm surprised at how exercise makes me happy (especially when the work out is over :D ).

Pen - congrats on your daughter's 4.0 - hip hip hooray!!!

soz im missing what makes you happy?

ive got another .. dogs chasing there own tail ...so funny. stupid things haha :ylol2:

My kitties, spending time with my husband, vacations, cooking, singing, exercise (I haven't done this in years! That makes me UNhappy!), movies, shopping, random acts of kindness.

Ha Rygon, If I wanna laugh, I watch Golden girls, Frasier, or I love Lucy (right INKYSTINKY)? Sometimes, they make me pee-my-pants laughing. Which is really hard for something to make laugh that hard!

Getting up at the crack of dawn...especially to go for a run or a bike ride, or pick vegetables from my garden

Driving in my car with the stereo blasting so loud I can't hear my phone ring...and singing at the top of my lungs

Snuggling with my kitty

Really funny movies

The first signs of spring

A hug from my husband after a stressful day

Cooking dinner with my husband...he is like a kid in the kitchen and it's so much fun!

A really great perfectly normal poop. :) Seriously, that really makes my day, for me it's the simple things.

Also, as with some others - a warm bath, a good book, my adorable puppy and amazing husband.

At this moment what would make me happy would be for the 50+ tests I have to mark to magically disappear!

Happy children is the best medicine for me.
Playing guitar with EJ and anything else to do with music.

Siting on a rock beside a lake miles away from any pavement, hydro lines or any other man made abominations.

Lots of things make me happy especially seeing friends and family. But the main thing for me since I sold my car and still live in a crappy neighborhood so walking by yourself is out of the question, don't have any friends left in the area cause they all moved, I don't have a job and my boyfriend works all day... what makes me happy these days is leaving the house to go ANYWHERE even if it's a trip to Target to get cat litter. :p I'm not the type that can sit around at home all day with no human contact and talk to my cats. I'm sick of all my stories being about what the cats did today. :p

Hahaha...Crabby I can completely empathize with you. I was happy last month when I had the car and went out to get blood work done! ;)

I've thought about this one a few times, and I can narrow it down to three really specific things:

1) Seeing a bunch of toddlers being walked around the pre-school near my apartment with those little belt-leash things on. It's just so goddamn cute.

2) Street buskers. Whether they're homeless or are just doing it to kill an afternoon, I love hearing random music whilst walking around downtown

3) Slurpees. I really love slurpees. :)

My hubby makes me happy..he just bought me a new computer!!! My old one is dying, and I am using his laptop... I hope my keyboard is easier! I am spoiled...cuz he loves me.

Just wish I was not in pain :(

Pen - "My hubby makes me happy..he just bought me a new computer!!!" I can really relate to this. When I was admitted to the hospital in April, I told my husband I would rather have a baby. The pain is not as bad, it would be over by now, and I would have something to show for it. The next night, he walked in my hospital room with a box, telling me I went through the labor, so here was my baby....a brand new laptop. That made me happy and is still making me happy.

Other things that make me happy....my home. It's full of love, support, laugther, and never a dull moment. It's my husband, our daugher, my mother, 2 dogs, and 4 cats. And lots of visitors.

This forum makes me happy. Being able to get help and try to help others.

The poem "Footprints in the Sand"

Playing the keyboard, guitar, and singing.
