Well I am new to the site and love it, would like to share to everyone some of my favorite things to do on my spare time..I have been married for 12 years, and together we have 3 boy's.

I live on Vancouver Island, B.C, so on most of my spare time I am fishing on my 23ft fishing boat with friends and family, this past weekend I took my 8 year old boy out for a 3 day adventure on the West coast of the Island. Awsome time we had, anchoring the boat in a nice cove's for the night, exploring little Islands, taking picture's of Humpback Whales, killer Whales, Sea Lions, seals, a weekend what will never be forgotten.

My wife and I also like to go hiking, camping, basically anything to do with the outdoors, we enjoy, every minute of life together as a family. We like to travell also, when we can afford it. I can't wait to see what kind of activitie's other people do from all over the world, I know we all live we a nasty desease, and limit's us for some things, but I try to live life the fullest potential for my family.

Cheers Dave

Welcome to the forum, Dave. You're much more adventurous than I am! In my spare time, I don't get out of the house much. I prefer to stay in my "safety zone" near my toilet and my bed. I tend to get anxious if I go out for too long or if I go too far away from home or work. My hobbies include things like video games, crocheting, reading, watching movies. Things I can do from the comfort and safety of my couch. I used to be more adventurous before I got ill, I would travel and go kayaking and stuff like that, but not so much anymore.

Hi Deeds, welcome to the forum. I used to fish myself a few years ago, just coarse fishing really though. I must agree with Cat-a-tonic, your hobbies sound quite amazing.

I have a friend who lives on Salt Spring Island, plenty of wilderness and wildlife in B.C, eh.

Nice to hear from you, Deeds. Hope you enjoy your time here with us.

Hi Cat-a-tonic, Yep...I hear that, I like to stay fairly close to a loo, and if I go out I make sure there is one nearby lol.

My hobbies are mountain biking, walking my dogs, video games, films, books, etc.

Liam

I here you both really well, that's why I bought a boat with a potty and little cudy...Salt Spring is a beatiful place, I have a house on Galaino Island, where I spend lot's of time in the summer.

The biggest reasen my wife and I are so adventurist is from all the medical issue's we have had in the last 3 years, she has had 2 heart operations in that time, and I almost lost my life to crohns, long story. Since then we have decided to live life to the fullest, the boy's love it, never a dull moment.

Cheers

That sounds amazing Dave.

I'm with Cat and Liam in that I limit myself a little bit because moving too far away from a toilet makes me anxious. I'm really working on that though :)

I love gaming, reading, graphic design, baking, playing with my dog and my birds and I've just very recently taken up running for fitness and would love to start playing a sport but I'm taking it slow at the moment. I'm also hoping to get my learner permit for a motorbike and start a scuba diving certification course but I'm waiting until my Methotrexate starts working :D

hobbies are skydiving, kickboxing, rockclimbing, snowboarding, reading, cooking

had to cancel a few days, worst part is skydiving as it takes 20mins to get up to altitude, 5mins down then another 5mins to get back. and yup ive had a bit of D on the way up .. quite cold on the way down tho :p

I love the idea of skydiving but knowing that I can't get to a toilet if I need to scares me way more than the free-fall ever would :/

same here lol, depends how you are really. most tandem instructors have been puke/pee/pood on so nothing new. Most places take paraplegics, amputees etc so should cater for you if you ask. Ive let go of a few very wet farts in my time (only done 198jumps) but its never stopped me.

My mum and dad are moving to aus (perth) this year so i reckon im going to visit there quite often. If you fancy we can get together and sort out a jump in brisbane

hobbies are taking up space, having staring contests with my Basset hound, Ike, writing funny songs & poems based upon my adventures w/Crohn's, reading, scrap booking, making home made greeting cards, volunteering my time w/the local ostomy & CCFA support group, being the best Aunt I can be to my 4 nieces/5 nephews, taking photos with my digital camera, collecting teddy bears (especially Boyds Bears) for my Bear Room, listening to & collecting old time radio shows on tapes (Jack Benny, George Burns, Great Gildersleeve, Baby Snooks, etc.) and chatting w/my good friends from GA, PA, OH, and FL online. :D:D

You can never have enough friends to chat with!!

Rygon I think that is awsome, skydiving I am going to have to try that....

If you make it Brisbane I sure would like to go there some day also, maybe I could pull that trip off.:thumleft:

Since starting the azathioprine, I only go like twice a day! So I really ought to get out and do more! But by the time I come home from work and walk the dog and sort out dinner I'm so tired I just want to go to bed. I take the dog to flyball once a week, and I do love reading when I have the time to just curl up with a good book. Oh and I'm always willing to go and visit my 11 month old niece. I used to go indoor rockclimbing a lot, but I haven't got a regular partner at the moment. I would love to take it up again, I need to do something to build my strength back up!

Cars cars an more cars lol
I do a trip once a year for a big car festival half way across the country
usually the hottest part of the year through one the hottest areas lol

other than that cruising the streets with my car club
an hittin the track an racin my mates

Hey Deeds. I love Vancouver Island, I'd always go to Tofino as a child. Hobbies included usual things for people my age like going out with friends, snowboarding, working out.

I enjoy quilting, reading, watching my weekly shows on the tube, playing with my dogs.

That sounds both awesome and terrifying haha. Hopefully by then, the Methotrexate will have me in remission :D

Zalanicht speaking of Tofino, I just got back from there. It was my second time ever being there, and was awsome, there was 12 friends who went and we had 4 boats between us, the first morning we spent 4 hours on the water and went 15 miles off shore. We ended up with our limit of fish, 32 salmon and a halbut each, AWSOME:emot-dance:.....

I had tried to post pictures on here, but can't figure out how to do it. I ended up getting some in my profile. What a great way to end the fishing year, with great friends and good food for the freezer.

Cheers Dave

ooo! That sounds like fun! I used to fish a lot (until I found out ticks resided in the area. lol)

I like spending time with my best friends, and my cat. I also like writing, and practically anything that has to do with electronics.
