Hi my name is Amanda , I have used this forum before but a long time ago, I have a question I hope doesn't sound too daft, I have just brought a bread machine I have a problem with heavy wheat based product , so can you use the the recipes for wheat free bread thats for oven baking the same in the bread maker as you can with normal bread ingredients, I have been looking for a recipe book on line but they all seem to be for gluten free stuff. Thanks :ycool:

I'm not 100% positive about your recipe or bread maker, but I have used oven bread recipes in my bread machine and they worked perfect...only issue I have had is I think my bread maker is a bit smaller than a regular loaf pan that you would use in an oven so I end up with extra dough or the loaf rises so high it pushes the door open on the bread maker lol

I think it will depend on the recipes to be honest, some don't work so well in bread makers, since they don't always cook right through, but there are ones that are available to use in bread makers, you can use the same maker you would use normally provided it is clean and you don't have an issue with cross contamination. Although if it's clean there shouldn't be any anyway..
I have coeliac and so I always use gluten free, but wheat free really shouldn't be that much different, and if you are having problems with it then you can try gluten free just for the bread, it really doesn't taste that bad, I can recommend some recipies if you want.

Thanks both of you, ce1210 that's what I actually meant I just didn't explain myself very well lol , so using oven recipe for the machine works, some recipes would be great thanks valley. O:)

Okay, no problem :) I will find them and get back to you, I'm on a phone at the moment so can't copy and paste etc. I could just PM them to you if you like? Save clogging up the thread so you can still get responses.

Gluten free is wheat free isn't it, cause isn't gluten in wheat, I brought gluten free flour once yrs ago when I was first diagnosed and I think it was made up of different types of flours but not wheat. Is that right

Yes, most gluten free things are automatically wheat free, there used to be something called codex wheat starch which had the gluten removed and that would be in some mixes, but those were premade flour mixes for cakes etc like you would usually get for cup cakes, and it was only one brand anyway.. I don't think I've ever seen a flour with it in. It's best to double check of course, but generally there shouldn't be any wheat in there at all.
