This is an excellent video from Phil Nicholson, a Crohn’s patient who has experienced anti-MAP treatment first hand and continues to benefit from it. Phil has done a lot of research and read many scientific papers. The film is well worth watching all the way through as it clearly describes the complicated science and history in simple, easy to understand language.

I spoke to phil yesterday, I was going to post this today, it's great! I had no idea there was a large study done with triple antibiotic therapy for MAP (Mycobacterium Avium Subspecies Tuberculosis) which had a high success rate.

I found the study online in full text. Anti-map antibiotic therapy was only slightly better then placebo, which is not very good. Phil's video mentions some of the controversy was in the dosages used for the study, and that higher dosages would have been more effective. Well Phil seems to be doing fine on anti-map antibiotic therapy so that's good news. hopefully some more research will be done.

Just one other thing about this study. Even though the results weren't dramatic compared to placeabo, The sample size of patients was large enough to identify whether the treatment was having an effect and the statistical data showed this. Therefore, it is a valid hypothesis that increasing the dosage, may increase the effect and provide better results over placeabo.
