Well, I haven't been on this part of the forum for a while and after today, I thought I'd write a happy vent!.. Im currently 8 weeks post op from having an ileostomy and mucus fistula.. Today the sun has been shining, I got my car back yesterday (although at a cost at £615 which has pi$$ed me off a bit)
Being able to just drive and get about has made me so much happier, its part of my life that I used to really enjoy and can now do so again.
Im slowly gaining weight and starting to enjoy food again... which after so long not being able to eat is heavenly
For the first time in months I can walk around with out being in too much pain, and am hopefully going to start swimming soon. I've not yet named my stoma like some, but I seem to of finally accepted it and just seem to be getting back on with my life again. I walked to the shops this morning and for some unknown reason just had a smile on my face.. I can't remember the last time that i could just walk around without a care in the world and smile...
I'm still mentally struggling a bit with the incident that put me in hospital in the first place, and an upcoming court case but otherwise.. I just thought I'd share a happy story and try and spread a bit of positivity!...
Keep on smilin peeps
