Azathioprione and hair loss?

Hi all,

Im currently doing well on azathioprione 150mg and have been for a few months now but ive begun to notice my hair massively thinning. As this is a cytotoxic drug i was wondering if this means my dose is too high, or if i should be on something else entirely.

Otherwise does anyone know if this will stop and reverse or if it will grow back when stopped, im really not willing to go bald young.

I have heard this can be a side effect but it usually resolves by itself given time. I'm not sure about the dosage as I think it goes on weight and how well you can metabolise the drug? For example I'm 59kg and I take 100mg daily. I haven't had any noticeable side effects and my nurse says the drug is at the right dosage to not be impacting my immune system. I'd give the prescriber a call and see what they suggest

I am currently on it and have noticed some hair thinning. I don't know if it is related but my GI checks my blood regularly and had to decrease me by half of what I was taking.
