Before my Crohns diagnosis, I loved black pepper. But since DX I have been carefully watching what I eat, looking everything up on the "Safe / Usafe" foods lists, here and elsewhere on the internet.
But when I search on "Black Pepper" I find lots of crohnies saying they love it and use it all the time, and even other websites that say it is good for the digestive system.
However some other sources claim that the black pepper particles have tiny razor sharp "barbs" that can lacerate the wall of the gut with thousands of tiny cuts.
Is there any definitive knowledge on this? I cant find out one way or the other. Or is it one of those many, many things that some can tolerate and some cant?
