I did.I usually have him groomed every couple of months but let his hair grow during winter for warmth. We're always out no matter the weather, and he won't wear a coat. He's not been trimmed since August and is just starting to look untidy.Still, who cares,as long as he's fit and healthy. He is getting a bit porky though, too many treats from my husband.I've told him he's not being kind, we often "have words"about it.If I think he's had too much rubbish I give him less dinner. He still loves me the most.I hope Allies aches and pains are ok.and that she's well.I laughed when you posted about the squeeky toy.Dogs bring so much love and laughter into our lives don't they?

Even though I don't have one, I do love them! I saw an unusual dog at Harper's Ferry yesterday and asked the owner what kind of dog it was and she said a Tinsdale I believe. They are very cute!

Thats a new one on me.Must be an American breed or a cross.Crosses are getting popular over here,at a cost.Labrador +poodle= labradoodle, spaniel+poodle=spandle etc.the list is endless.they cost the same as pedigrees. There are so many dogs in rescue centres,it shouldn't be allowed. In fact all breeding of cats and dogs should be licensed .Too many bred, too many dead. :frown:

So true Carol! My sister iI am proud to say has always had rescue pets. They come with problems sometimes, but they are just as lovable and loyal!

sorry I missed you Sandy.Hope you're having a good day. We're like ships that pass in the night aren't we.Our clocks go back an hour this Sunday so it might be easier to catch up.

Nope, I am happy as a clam with a pearl inside. Guess who the pearl is for?
Anyway, sorry, my mistake. I admit when I'm wrong!:D

You will have to get up earlier Carol!

It's dark until 7-30am though.During the summer I'm up and at it (not THAT) at 6am,but at this time of year I'm up at 6 but stay in bed and drink tea until it's light. It's too dark to walk the dog as there's a lot of dodgy characters around who might take advantage of a defenceless woman.

Well it looks like winters on the way.I'm quite annoyed with myself.I've just discovered 4 unworn, lovely summer tops which I kept for when we went somewhere nice, and didn't.Anyway,it's a good start to next summer......Never keep anything for best girls, get 'em worn then get some new ones. That goes for your thongs too Robert

I will have you know my thongs are well worn.

I do that with suits - I have a few that are for 'best' and rarely wear them - mad really.

Well at least it will take you a while to find out all the other places we hang out.

New photo! I think I am spoilt being surrounded by all these lovely looking women.

Was that a jab and a compliment all in one??! I went to a Halloween party the other night...figured I would play along with the holiday! Be warned...I WILL find you! Lol! Smile!

He's in a jail cell Jen he just wont admit to it. For assault and battery in a drunken brawl in London!:ywow::redface::redface::redface:Too embarrassed to tell us gals.

Oh,it doesn't take much to make me happy..........just had a txt from the book store and the book I reserved is in stock.Good timing too as only got a few pages of my present one left to read.Trouble is the review I read online wasn't the best, but I shall ignore it and make up my own mind.

I agree - the small things are often the best. Reviews can be a real pain - I prefer when the only reviews available were from newspapers, etc - at least you knew you would usually hear something unbiased.

So many people in the UK seem to be addicted to antiques programs - seem to be dozens of them on television. Is it just here?

I like watching them though - think it is a sign of getting old though! There was a Chinese polished disc - used as a mirror by young ladies - from the 12th century on yesterday and it sold for £40

I watch some of them.........Far to many cooking programs though.Don't watch ANY of them.I'm enjoying the western Hatfields and McCoys though.Great stuff.

Teresa told me not to long back when she watched an Antiques Roadshow filmed here in Salt Lake. I caught it next time it was on. I love that show also. Also enjoyed the "Hatfields and McCoys" when it was on here. We also watched an episode of "American Pickers" where the pickers went to the store that was frequented by the Hatfields and McCoys, bought some of the memorabilia, and ended up giving it to a local museum. It was an interesting episode. They usually just sell the stuff they find.
Somehow this talk reminds me of when my mother, in her later years, went back to college and got her teaching certificate (for secondary education), with a minor in history. When interviewing for a job, they asked her why she thought she would be good at history. She told them, “because I've lived through half of it." She got the job.

a question for the girls,or anybody really.Earlier this summer I decided to grow old gracefully and stop colouring my hair.Well I've decided that being a "silver surfer" is not really me so I've got a colour today. What I want to know is,do you do a "test" before you do yours ?I haven't in the past, but there has been so many horror stories of bad reactions.I want to do it tomorrow but the instructions say test behind ear and don't wash for 48hrs..........what do you think?

I've never tested first, I'm so silly, I just jump right in, lol! Have you used it before?

Not this one,it's new on the market. It's oil based, permanent.Think I might risk it.It's such a faff testing 48hrs before, because by then I might not be able to do it for one reason or another.I think the darker colours are the problem.Although I was dark brunette I have so much grey now I use ash blond and it highlights the grey.......Bears gonna love this conversation, make a change for him from cooking.:ylol:

If it stick with brands I've used before, I never usually have a problem unless I go with a shade I've never used. But I bought a new brand, and got the dark blonde in said brand, omgggg it turned my hair DARK red.

I never tested and have had no problems ever! If u r allergic to alot of products, then test. If not, don't worry is my opinion.:thumright:

thanks guys, well I've done it.Darker than I would have liked, but the grey has gone a nice deep gold.It will fade to the colour I want in a week or two............My hubbys been home 2hrs and we've been out with Alfie,AND HE HASN'T NOTICED !!!!!! I was silver streaks and I'm now brown and gold.I will let you know how long it takes him.

I know, I told my hubs I could dye my hair purple and he wouldn't notice for days!!!:lol2:

Off to work now. Me and my sone are going over to his daughter's bustop after she gets home and are hoping her Granpa will let us see her for a few min.

LOL Carol! That's hilarious. Mine of course noticed when it went dark red, lol! I didn't get it quiet back to a normal shade, it still had too much red in it the first few weeks, then that faded out to blonde somehow. I need to do mine, but have been afraid since then, lol! I went to a salon a few times, the girl did an amazing job, I loved it, but can't justify the 80 bucks each time.

You ladies !!!!!!!

Pity the poor man who does not notice when you have been to the hairdresser - I had my hair cut two weeks ago - did anyone on here notice?

No one addicted to this thread for two weeks. Still at least I will get some sensible conversation on here now

I think they all have something missing in their brains.I'm used to it now, though that doesn't mean I'll forget........By the way Alfie is going through his untidy winter stage. He gets trimmed through the warm weather, but not in winter. We go out in all weathers and he won't wear a coat,so it's kinder.Hope you're having the best day :thumright:

It was certainly safer last night. how are you Carol?

I'm good thanks Sandy. The thing with ignoring Christmas is that every days the same.I don't have to plan meals, put tree and decorations up,shop for and wrap gifts, look for party dresses to wear etc etc.I've bought a new sweater for the day but if weather permits we usually go for a hike and a pic-nic,so it will be under my coat.I've just asked hubby what he fancies for Christmas lunch and he want bacon eggs and fries,so who am I to argue. haha.:dance:
