Just because you don't have Kylie to keep you warm at night, don't tell us we can't enjoy our sweet hubbies!!!:thumleft:

Two things:

I knew you hadn't forgotten her name!

'Sweet hubbies' make life much harder for the rest of us by setting unobtainable standards - man up!

He's very much a man!!!:thumleft: That's why he's able to show his true appreciation for the softer gender. A real man is secure enough in himself to say what he really feels in his heart.

It's not unobtainable........Do as told or "advised".have a sense of humour,be TIDY.be CLEAN,don't whinge,be kind, take NO for an answer and don't snore. That'll do for now.I'm sure the girls can add a few.......Oh and learn to say "yes dear" with a smile

Yay! I had a piece of tooth that fell off fixed. Now i can eat without food getting stuck there. The Utes also win because we got a "parents of the quarter award." Yippy skippy! After complaining to the Utah director, they recognized us for something! They gave us a thank you card in front of other people.

No---I am not an addict---fond of the forums maybe----but not an addict---

What you mean women no longer tie a ribbon in their hair when their husbands get home? What sort of world is this?

Then what?? it's nearly 24hrs since the last post, what's wrong.have you both resigned? I hope you haven't come down with berriberri or something equally horrible.

Just got home from visiting my son. Since I am down this way I am seeing whom I can. I live an hour away from most of my family.

Hi, Bio. I live just down the street in Utah. I've spent a lot of time in Idaho, for various reasons. If I could, I would love living in Island Park. So darn pretty there. I love the lakes and the pines. So darn expensive housing, though.

Trev, who is away right now and can only check in sporadically, would probably get along with you great. In the mean time, stay around and watch how much Robert picks on the ladies while we try to be civilized to him, but once in a while have to say something to keep him in line. (Actually, he loves it.) Once in a while my husband will post on Last One Wins, but he is harmless, even if he is a tax auditor (for businesses, unemployment taxes, and only in Utah so everyone can breathe a sigh of relief.) I think his gentle ways are the way he gets everyone to open up and "confess" their sins. He should have been a priest, but then I wouldn't have been able to marry him. But even I can't keep a secret from him.
Try to have fun with us. New personalities bring a lot to life, and healing.

I do have a pretty wicked sense of humor. I always laugh when someone gets kicked in the crotch. I think it would be a little difficult to run me off.

Bio,
Drove thru Idaho about 12 yrs. ago on a trip out west and could not believe how beautiful it was. We wished we would've had more time to explore there. Just along the road we saw many beautiful sights. Then I saw a show about it and they were showing all the waterfalls and parks. Made us want to go back someday to see it all. My husband is a photographer as a hobby and it would be a great place for pictures. Have you explored the west? Seen Crater Lake Oregon? You should go have a look see if you haven't. One of the prettiest sights on our trip in June. There was still snow on the ground and mountain tops but it was 67 degrees out. We had a blast there! :thumleft:

I'm a recent transplant from Utah. Moved to Boise in May. I have been pleasantly surprised by the scenery in idaho.

I would like to see all the national parks out west someday. Then move my exploring east to see what there is to see. I do know that a layover in Mississippi on the way to Virginia scared me, but I was a young kid then, and the airport was sooooo big. Looking back though, the people were very nice.

Oh,it all sounds just like my kinda place. One day I may surprise you all and visit.I don't care if I'm invited or not.I will give you plenty of notice though.

Afterward, can we drop in on you? Seeing the land of (part of) my ancestry is a dream of mine.

sure you can, we only have one bedroom though and a small dressing room so you will all have to squeeze into the caravan. We've had a drive up the coast today.Went to a secluded beach and the tide was way out.Alfie chased his ball and paddled in the rock pools. Then we visited Warkworth Castle a few miles further on.It's really beautiful with stunning views. It's a well preserved ruin that was built around the 13th century.I know bits of history but Les usually tells me what I need to know.We have an 11th century Priory just down the road from us which we visit regularly. It's on cliffs overlooking the sea.We tend to take our surroundings for granted having grown up with it.
But I suppose everyone is guilty of that, but we are very lucky.Having said that there are lots of run down areas,as there are every where.Well,I'm rabbiting on so I'll get off and make a cuppa.:boring:

Oohhh, not boring at all! Now that sounds like my kind of place! (I wanted to say my kind of place to visit, but now I'm thinking my kind of place to retire to.) I also know bits and pieces of history, but Doug seems to have a mind to remember all the details and bits of trivia that make things come alive. I'm glad I have him. Most of the time. Here, all of the known "white man" history in Utah only goes back to 1847, when the first settlers came to this valley. I have ancesters from this group, but the American Indian were around forever before that, but "white man" seems to have annihilated them out, mostly with our diseases that they had not built up defenses for, and some with war, and the rest were forced to live on reservations. Doug (and I) have always wanted to visit castles, etc. in Europe just because of the history of them. As for views, etc, you are correct. I think we all take them for granted wherever we are. Now who is being :boring:

I think we are all guilty of "the grass is greener"syndrom.Utah is absolutely stunning but probably too warm for me.And dusty? I'm interested in North American Indian culture, but that was a bygone age and life is different now, though not neccessarily better or worse. Also sometimes it is better to hang on to your dreams, reality can be disappointing.

Also, dreams can't come true unless you dream them. (don't worry, we aren't stopping by unannounced or for a zillion years. Can't afford it.)

Hi, Just taking a break. Vacuumed the livingroom and kitchen. Cleaned the entryway floor and carpet. Brought up some more of Mike's camera stuff to the office. How do we end up with so mcuh stuff???:yfaint:

Re: accumalating stuff,I've been thinking about having a car boot sale since this time last year. It's like a garage sale I suppose, except you hire a table in a church hall or take your own table to an outdoor venue.I've accumalated a load of stuff and really must make the effort.I do donate a lot to charity also but just fancied doing one. It's just the thought of sorting and packing and pricing. Most of it is in the attic,so out of sight out of mind, but if I don't do something soon my hubby says the ceiling will come down.Exaggerating of course.

My (unfinished) basement will explode. (like Carol, exaggerating of course) We have been little by little going through my house and getting rid of things unnecessary. Even upstairs. My basement is used for storage like an attic, as our attic is virtually unaccessible, covered with insulation, and only room to crawl. Never been there myself. Everyone in family thinks that because we don't have kids (of our own), out basement is good storage facility. They all know we are getting rid of their crap now, we gave each various deadlines, and the rest goes to charity if it is any good.

One of the many great things about being divorced is you get to leave all the clutter stored over a lifetime behind - very liberating not to possess junk that we think we will use again one day but hardly ever do.

Maybe that is the reason I started collecting -- he took everything including the kitchen sink. I literally had nothing but my clothes and the cheapest model sewing machine one could buy, so I have been afraid of losing the necessities again. But two things I did have --family that supported me until I could get on my feet and my dignity for leaving him. But I very much appreciate what you said. My goal now is to liberate myself from myself. My mind is cluttered enough without having to be cluttered with junk.

Right friends, this is serious.I really must get down to some serious reading, and if it means deserting the forum then thats how it must be.I'm halfway through a John Conolly, have just bought his latest (480 pages) and have ordered Jason Cronnins latest, due out on 28th.I have been waiting for 15 mths for this book.At bedtime I'm so tired I can only manage a page or two before lights out,so at this rate it will take me years to get through them.I've also got a stack of "must read" unreads. So it's either looking after Les and Alfie or gossiping with all of you,and I know you wouldn't want me to neglect my darlings. So farewell my dear friends, think of me with fondness as I will of you all......I can hear Robert Cheering from here.

I understand, Carol. I've been neglecting my John Connolly I've been in the middle of for weeks, um, months.

You'll notice I'm still here, every time I try to abandon ship somebody posts and I just have to look. Not that I'm addicted or anything.

I think I have finally scared her off

No such luck. Just busy laying down on the job. You know I didn't go to bed until three am. Then this morning I was busy coloring hair, had seizure Aaargghh!, lost phone (it sounded like it was coming from bathtub?? (it was actually in bathroom behind wall) listening to beautiful music, contemplating the meaning of life. Tonight I go to a family dinner at my Mom's, which should be interesting. She has a little dementia and creates drama at times, but I love her very much. I win.
