Hi Cheryl, how you doin'? It's a lovely day here.Sunny and coolish.Perfect.Just had my juice and washed up.Can't decide what to eat.Hubbys just had the last of home made veggie soup and black forest gateau, but I didn't fancy it.Might do some toasted cheese just to stop the hunger pangs.Have been for my results and all's well.Bit of fatty liver and the start of gall stones, but nothing to worry about at the moment and no meds needed.Hope all's well for you and yours x

Morning, Carol! Glad to hear the results are all good! Yes, perfect weather here too, wish I was off today to start my garage sale, but...will settle for tomorrow. I just said yesterday I was hungry for homemade veggie beef soup, might have to start a pot this weekend, mmmmm!

I made some last week and it was so good. We ate the whole pot. it took 5 days! Do you put cabbage and tomatoes in yours? V-8 is really good in it too. Just 2 cups or so. I love to make soup.

I make soup every week summer or winter.I just chuck in whats handy.I like a meat or chicken stock but hubby doesn't like meat actually IN his soup so I add it to mine again later.I also give some to the fella next door. He's on his own and in his 70s so likes a bit of home cooking. It's nice to be appreciated.

Tomatos yes, the cabbage no. My family wouldn't eat it with cabbage, lol, wimps! I throw in pasta at the very end too. I made an entire pot for Mom when she was going thru chemo. When I took it to her she told me I should not have brought the entire pot, had me freeze half of it for her......she finished it all within 4 days, even what I froze, lol!

Well then, you definatelt know what you are doing!!!
A hint about cabbage is to leave it whole or just add a wedge and take it out when soup is done. It gives it so much more flavor! Making me hungry for it a:biggrin:gain

Can you tell I'm a cook at heart? Cooked everday for 30 or so years, big meals. That's how you get good. You find what works and doesnt. Much practice.:thumright:

Well if I had a choice I would like someone to cook for me,but until the lottery comes up I'll just have to get on with it.I think I was really born a "LADY"and there was a mix-up at the maternity ward.I really want to be waited on hand and foot.Probably comes of being married for 46yrs and being very efficient and independant(as in,no it's ok I can manage)If I only knew then what I know now..............probably wouldn't make a scrap of difference.

If we had our time again we would invent two languages - one for men, one for women............................................actually we kind of have that already - don't understand what women really mean most of the time

I think I might start 'teaching' you all a little about cigars - in the spirit that you never know when you can use the information

A good hand made cigar from Havana, Dominican Republic or Nicaragua of a decent length will cost about £15 ($20US) with a smoking time of about one hour. Smoked with friends in appropriate surroundings, with a drink of your choice, is one of life's truly great pleasures.

I can understand how you could enjoy them because I used to smoke cigarettes. Now they stink to me and can't stand the smoke. It's hard because both my kids still smoke and when I visit, I can barely stand it.

I hate to admit it, but I never could stand the smell of cigarettes, but I somewhat, and I mean somewhat, like the smell of cigars.:stinks:

I got a compliment on my driving today. When I got back to the car there was a note on the windscreen which said "Driving Fine" which I thought was really nice.

Wow! How often does one get a compliment on one's driving? Around here, at least, we keep hearing about incidents of road rage. That must feel mighty fine!:thumleft:

I forget that you over there don't speak "proper"English and worry sometimes that you won't understand me.Also,we have lots of different dialects over here too, so we sometimes don't understand each other.Still,it makes things interesting and funny and that's how it should be.

I have picked up on you lots language somewhat. But, Kirsty, forget it... I still don't understand alot of what she says!!:yfrown:

It must be very hard Robert.................................I mean struggling to keep your superiority on your own.Where are your cronies when you need their support eh? Talk about "Last man standing"

OK then - clearly on here we know many people with Crohn's and it can be easy to think society in general are well aware of the disease. However how many people do you come across who actually have Crohn's - or have a good working knowledge of the disease?

My first GI, the one who diagnosed me, told me that I upon him telling me what I had, that I would now find I knew others with it even if I thought I didn't. He was so right, I had been working with an older woman for 2-3 years at the grocery store, and didn't even know she had it, until I told her what they found with my tests. I have found many people I tell know someone with it, etc...

My mother has ulcerative colitis(in remission), My sister Mary had it too and had her colon removed. My brother's intestines exploded from diverticulitis(he thought it was intestinal flu till too late.) He made it through though. My sister Deb who passed away had colitis. I have crohn's. A good friend in my church has crohn's and another lady thinks she does. Alot of people in America seem to have it probably from all the processed foods. But, my family, I think it's just hereditary. My Dad's Mom died from some sort of stomach cancer or intestinal. He was only 5 and doesn't remember well.:frown:He has the runs alot and won't tell the Dr. about it.

no family history and wasn't dx with uc until I was 58.Had probs for quite a few years previously but didn't go to docs until bleeding started. In remission at mo.but had a few nasty flares.don't know anyone with I.B.D but many who THINK they have it.That's I love this forum. It's been a massive help.Of course the most important thing is meeting all my special friends and you Robert.

Grrrr

No real family history for me - I knew absolutely nothing about it - when I was diagnosed - about 1994 - I was thinking Crohn's (Crohn's) - isn't that wizened old ladies?

Natural superiority
Size of the male brain
One step ahead
I'm 5ft 11in - so prob in an 'elevated' position

Natural superiority - women
Size of the male brain - fatheads - even Doug can't find a hat that will fit him his head is so big (sorry Doug)
One step ahead - of what?
Doug is 6ft 3in so he is probably in an 'elevated' position (that should help make up for the'fathead' remark)

I've got nothing to add but couldn't leave without saying something, and here it is...........................SOMETHING.

I would also tell my brother he was nobody, because nobody was as perfectly bad. Siblings. I get along with him pretty well now.

Of COURSE she has.....see, I tell myself this about all the beautiful woman in the spotlight, the actresses, signers, etc. They have the money to have the work done, knowing this makes me feel slightly better about aging as a normal woman would. LOL!

Hello everyone,
I guess I've been missing all the chatters today. at my sister's now for the week. Taking a break from cleaning upstairs. Hello anyone!!!:sign0085:
