Can you pick the leaf that's going to fall next? I enjoy doing that with raindrops on the window :)

Kirsty, you really should get out more me darlin'........It's a horrible day here.Cold 4c.frequent sharp wintry showers.Did a supermarket shop, reluctantly, but feel better now it's done.Just sitting around happily lazy.Might watch Rob.Redford in Jeramiah Johnson (for the 3rd or 4th time) but I don't mind one bit.I think I'll get my PJs on soon too.

Clocks have been turned an hour back here now. I'm up early and don't know what to do :)

Madhu, ours went back last weekend and I've had the same problem all week.Stayed up late last night hoping for a Sunday lie in.......no chance.Up with the birds again.I wish they'd leave the clocks alone.I mean what's the point ?

That is so true. Maybe it is to make us wake up early on work days, but the trick wears off in a week as you say. And it seriously messes up with the crohn's warriors' schedules. I hope everyone is coping up okay.

I Me too Madhu
Such a bright sunny day here..probably cold out there ...not like your weather Carol
Good to see you Kirsty...
It's always s longer day..Sunday..in hospitals.
Yesterday there was a bad problem with the fire alarm...kept sounding the danger signal
Went on for about an hour and all doors must be closed
Not good for me...too claustrophobic....but I was rescued by the physio who took me to the gym...fire alarm and all...
They finally fixed it...what a relief.
My leg is coming along in leaps and bounds..so hopefully this week they will let me go home
Still gets very achy but I think once I am home it will become normal
Can't walk properly yet but coming along quite nicely I think
Did anyone ever go off hospital food?..

Did anyone ever go off hospital food?..

I'm in a great hospital but the food is really poor , at this stage i'm buying my own cereal , I eat some of the lunch , the rest I get from an onsite restaurant which makes it a lot easier to eat well ,
I think the system needs a big makeover esp for people who are just starting to eat again after major surgery and need all the encouragement they can get,
eg. yesterday I was given the choice of bacon , potato and veg for lunch,

I got dried up veg with CABBAGE (not allowed on low res diet) some mashed carrot , small potato and two slices of ham which were dried up totally and more fat than ham ,
exit stage left to nearby restaurant for really nice baked chicken ,carrot and some fries ,

rant over

Mandy, how's our little Jaxon? He must have started rolling around now eh? :D

Hi Madhu... ye he is on the roll now, tho he has not quite mastered it every time he tries to do it ☺

Its so lovely to hear him chuckling too 😃
I cant wait for him to be walking but im not sure im to up for chasing him around either 😆
Hope your well n hubby is good too... 💕💕

Hi Tony n Trysha our little hospital buddies. Hope your improvements continue a pace and your both home very soon. Mmmmm hospital food does leave a lot to be desired...some of the food i tried to eat tasted like it had come from the bottom of a budgies cage 😃

Not the best when you are hungery and able to eat for change, that you end up with cardboard on a plate 😨

Love to all. Keep your chin up peeps or you will have a double chin. Haha 😆💕💟💞💝

Thanks for the birthday wishes, everybody! I had fun at the game even though we lost. I'm not sure if anybody else saw the game on TV, but the most fun part was the squirrel. :p Out of nowhere, somehow a squirrel got into the stadium and onto the field! The whole crowd stood up and cheered, "Go squirrel go!" and when the squirrel ran into the end zone, everybody put their arms up as though the squirrel had scored a touchdown. It was really funny. The squirrel then disappeared and hid for awhile, but made several more appearances throughout the game. Poor thing, it looked terrified - being in a huge stadium with so much noise and lights and people, it clearly didn't know what to do or where to run. For awhile, one of the stadium workers was chasing it with a net, but he apparently never caught it. The squirrel might still be in Lambeau field for all I know!

So yeah, it was a fun day. I'm paying for it today, though. I ate safely yesterday and honestly ate hardly anything (2 Boost drinks, 2 eggs, and a small bag of potato chips). But I think I overdid it on the activity with all the driving and then walking from the car to the stadium and the excitement of the game and so on. My guts are NOT happy today. I put in a call to my GI and am waiting for a response. I've had urgent d 3x already this morning, you know it's bad when it's only 9:30 and you've already had to take an imodium and a zofran. I made it home though without having an incident in the car which is good! I'm off of work today so I'm just going to rest and try to feel better. I'm a bit scared to eat so I might do liquids only today. Hopefully my GI calls or emails me back soon.

Escape complete have arrived home:lol2: , new mission to search for and acquire the legendary blubber , tools needed , frying pan , well supplied butchers , wish me luck

Aw, Tony! I'm so glad you are out of the hospital. There is no place like home. (Trysha, somebody needs to work on those ruby slippers of yours.)

I wish I could share my double chin and extra blubber. Not too long after Doug and I got married (in 1995), I gained 50 lbs in a short period of time. No matter what I ate or how I exercised the pounds just came pouring ON. To this day, I don't know what caused it because I sure wasn't eating any extra or worse, tho had struggled at times as an adult with weight (I suspect this one was a temp thyroid problem as it runs in my family and I had had minor thyroid problems years earlier.) I should have gone to a doc about it, but never did. I have never lost that weight, tho started to a few times before other health problems stopped me from exercising/moving so much, and then I really did start eating poorly from depression, and gained even more. (Now all of you know, I'm much too heavy.) Growing up, as a kid, I was always skinny. All through high school and the little bit of college I went to (before my ex made me drop out), I was a thin 125-130 lbs (5'7") and prided myself on keeping in shape. ~sigh~ And even tho I recently lost 30 lbs with tummy troubles of my own, I still weigh too much. Because I got sick(er than I was) and lost that 30 lbs, everyone around here has assumed that I was now healthier and everyone has been telling me how happy they are my health is improving. (I get that every week at church.) Because, overall, that really is the case now my tummy has settled down to where I can usually eat again (tho still much sicker, in multiple other ways, than people realize), it doesn't choke me as much when I can legitimately say now "thanks, it's nice to be feeling better too." Bottom line, I sure wish I could give some of my extra weight to those who want/need it, and I could not have to carry around on my already slowed from neurological problems limbs the equivalent of a 50 lb sack of potatoes without being able to put it down. (I've gained about 10 lbs back unfortunately.)
Good luck to those of you who need the extra weight, and good luck to those of us who need to get rid of it.
With that, I will say g'bye for now, I have to go back to the dentist to get my permanent dental cap for my tooth I broke awhile back.

(Is anyone winning? )

P.S. Trysha, I too had difficulty with getting things posted correctly earlier on this forum, seems to be ok now.

Forgot to say, Cat, we saw the end part of the game, hoped you were ok. Looked for you in the crowd, but realized we didn't know what you looked like, ha ha. And we never saw that squirrel! Thanks for sharing! He was very entertaining!

Sandy, thanks, I don't think we made it on TV. We were in row 49 so pretty far up there although we still had quite a good view. Not quite close enough for the cameras though.

As for what I look like, I had posted in the "Face behind hte post" thread awhile back. This is me:
http://www.crohnsforum.com/showpost.php?p=618971&postcount=1165

My cheeks are much chubbier now due to pred. Maybe that's why I like the Lambeau squirrel so much! I've got chipmunk cheeks now so it's not a far stretch from there to get to squirrel. ;) Ha ha.

That's great Tony and now I am a pale shade of green....envy...this website is driving me insane...it's not behaving and I cannot see what I am writing...very frustrating...

Doug, the first time I had a flare my wife wanted me to gain some extra back for the next time I had a flare

There were so many posts in a row I thought we were having a party [emoji322]

Election day! Whoever wins, I'm happy I don't have to see them bickering on tv anymore. #children [emoji14]

and us too !!!

Managed an hour or so on little blackie,Loved it,even though it was cold and damp.I feel so much better for it.....sorry for being smug........

I know I'm going to end up obsessively watching the election results on TV tonight, but I don't want to. :p I did buy myself a new lego set which I'm going to put together tonight in the hopes of distracting my brain away from my anxiety over the election.

On a different subject, why do people bring the grossest/smelliest foods to work on days when you're nauseous or have no appetite? Somebody was microwaving bacon at work this morning, and this afternoon there are plans for tacos (not even good ones, fast food ones) to be brought in to work. Ewww. I don't want to have to smell those icky things.

I feel vindicated! I wrote in Mitt Romney on my mail in ballot. This morning I heard the results from the midnight vote in Dixville Knotch, New Hampshire. The town does their voting at midnight every 4 years. They had 8 voters. 4 voted for Clinton, 2 for Trump, 1 for Gary Johnson (The libertarian party candidiate) and 1 for Mitt Romney! I am not alone. Mitt got at least 2 votes in this crazy election.

I have been know to put the loo roll the right way up when visiting friends bathrooms.(as in the diagram) I'ts a joke now.I even think they do it deliberately when they know I'm coming. That's real friendship....enemies remove the loo roll altogether.

Hah, my husband also puts the toilet paper on the wrong way and I always fix it! Although actually, now that I think about it, I haven't noticed him putting it on the wrong way recently, I wonder if he's finally given up and accepted that I was right all along. ;)

One of my favorite little thrift shops had a post on facebook today that said something along the lines of, "After you vote, come visit us for some retail therapy!" I decided that sounded like just what I needed, ha ha. I ended up getting a super cute and apparently brand-new sporty hoodie for only a few bucks. It's bright pink and fleece-lined, so cozy and will be nice for winter. It makes me happy. So, the retail therapy definitely worked! :)

Good news at last...estimated discharge date.....November 15....hooray...
Can't wait...

Hi Ron, hope all is well.

Haven't gone anywhere yet, I've just been busy at work, company visiting, packing, etc. Leaving for my niece's wedding early on Thursday morning. As the time gets closer I realize how much I really, really hate flying and why I don't do it more often.

Wondered where you were Shanen
Are you ok....
So happy to be free soon...the leg pain needs to go....hoping to leave it behind..
Winning

Worked the polls this afternoon. Tentatively have outpatient surgery on my scalp the 23rd of this month.

I'm as ok as can be expected. Many others have it worse so I'll just count my blessings. I hope you're leg pain eases soon Trysha and your scalp surgery goes well Ron. Thinking of the rest here and wishing all well.

Well I see "he's" in !!!

I don't know who you all wanted as your President, but I hope you got who you voted for.
The world is watching with bated breathe

Best of luck Ron hope it helps you feel better n all goes smoothly..

I hope you're keeping warm Mandy and driving carefully.......Remember,Never drive faster than your Guardian Angel can fly, that goes for all you drivers of course.

OMG. No, I didn't get who I wanted for president and I'm terrified and depressed and just have no words. This feels like a nightmare.

There have been times where I've joked about wanting to hibernate for the rest of 2016 because it's been such a crappy year. Now I'm thinking I want to hibernate for the next 4 or so years...

I hope you're keeping warm Mandy and driving carefully.......Remember,Never drive faster than your Guardian Angel can fly, that goes for all you drivers of course.

Thanks Carol..always keep to the speed limt and sometimes less than it.. so my angels can keep up. No driving today tho having a sofa day. Did a 12 hr shift at work yesterday n another tomorrow so asked for today off with the extra hrs iv worked over those 2 days. wise move as iv caught up on some rest and sleep ☺..

May God bless America with all he can...Cat hibernating for the next 4yrs might be a darn good plan . I feel for the non Trump voters..😨

Love to all 💞💝💖

Trysha...Great news on the release date, fingers x'd.

Have you got someone to put your heating on and get your stores in,or will I pop over ?:ghug:

Love to see you Carol...I have a nice spare bedroom....currently use it as office with my computers...soon rearranged though
Heats already on since it's an apartment...very nice one
Will certainly need a dust around but it is very neat and organized..like it that way...
We could gO shopping in Toronto and also visit the Niagara Falls...not far to go.

....it's a short time since I had powerful painkillers...could be the drugs talking...

How you doin', Tony ? It's great being home eh.?

really doing great , being home makes all the difference , eating well , small portions but often , had a couple of walks today ,, and just catching up on all the tv I missed in the last few weeks

I didn't vote for Trump or Hillary, they both terrify me, but me voting for a third party candidate effectively put my vote toward Hillary and I knew it. Still, it was the only way to make my voice heard. I'm going to hide under the rock with Doug. Cat bought hoodies to help her feel better, I bought a new vacuum yesterday to help clean up the mess afterward.

I have good news and bad news. The good news is right now I have very little discomfort or pain, the bad news is that I had horrible chest pains this morning so now am at the ER again. They did an EKG which had just a slight abnormality, and then they gave me four baby aspirin and nitro, which left me feeling better and I thought I was going to get to go home. Then the blood tests came back which showed I may have blood clots again, so ~sigh~, CT with contrast to see if I do. Right now I'm just in that eternal wait and see mode. Wish me luck.:(

Hoping the best for you, Sandy.

Just got a check from insurance reimbursing us for a medical visit. My gi wants me to suspend Humira for now because of impending surgery.

Yay, no clots (I told him it didn't feel like when I had clots). The doc gave me a choice, because I'm at moderate risk of heart attack and EKG can't definitively show whether I did or didn't, he gave me choice of being admitted and having more extensive testing done, or just having a repeat blood test that was done quite quickly after initial pain episode and then more extensive testing by cardiologist later. The reason for the repeat test is that it was fine first time, but usually doesn't show I think he said some kind of enzyme or inflammation right away, so they like to test a few hours later. I elected the follow up with cardiologist and it looks like I get to go home soon (assuming the test comes back normal, and I suspect it will..). Yay, yay yay!

Yeah good news Sandy on the clots..hope all goes well with the cardio 💋
Ron hope suspending humira doesnt cause you any bother. Hope all goes well for you. 💕

Sandy..sorry to hear you are having a bad time and really hope you will feel better soon
Ron I missed the bit about discontinuing the humira and hope it's for the best..feel better
Mandy good to see you appear with nice things to say...hope you are doing better
I am slowly on the up swing but better each day...can't wait till Tuesday.

This is such an interesting place (LOW), so much going on with each and every one of you. I'm glad you're enjoying being home Tony and able to rest and watch TV. And eat! And I'm glad you have your discharge date, Trysha. It's amazing how much more work it is to be in the hospital, isn't it?
And Shanen, great to see you! Would you and Madhu stick around for awhile? I would like to say more about each one of you, but I'm already too wordy (all the time), so trying to condense. I appreciate each one of you tho for your own unique ways. And I'm doing fine now, it really was only scary for a short time this a.m. (and sort of when they told me they suspected blood clots again, tho I didn't feel so bad at that point.)
It's sure nice to be home.
Winning. ..

Hey Sandy and everyone. It's so bad when you guys aren't in the pink of health. I hope you all bounce back soon. Trysha, my aunt recently had knee replacement surgery in india and she is back on her feet now, 6 months later. She has always been one very dedicated woman when it comes to exercise and physical therapy, so she was able to pull through fast. I understand it must be hard right now, but the good days are coming soon. Hang in there :)

Ron ...Oh ...that's good then ...it's also good it's discontinued for that time since it reduces the body's immune response....don't need to encourage any infections.
Do you have a date for the surgery yet?
It has been a hectic day for me today with intensified exercises in the gym which is part of the rehab ward.
Although it half killed me at the time I do feel better for it and hope to lift my leg again soon...and resume proper walking.
Nighttime has to be the worst with patient call bells frequently...some patients can be so demanding and the nurses are rushed off their feet
Economies dictate a shortage due to lack of funding...I don't know where we would be without them...they have been fantastic to me...nothing too much trouble
Winning.....
