Kirsty, do more than just say "boo" - we're long overdue for a new puppy photo, we are in Jammer withdrawal!
Sandy, I feel similarly about public restrooms, and I always lay down a thick layer of TP on the seat before I sit. And I will say, you might want to never visit Japan.
Public bathrooms there almost never have soap! Like, there's not even a dispenser. You just rinse your hands and that's it, that's apparently the Japanese way. Ew! It drove me and my mom crazy because we're germaphobes and hand sanitizer just doesn't cut it. And it was so odd because it's otherwise such a clean and hygienic country! At one point, I discovered a product in a Japanese shop called "paper soap" - it's little sheets of paper, and if you get them wet they foam up and dissolve and become soap. My mom and I used that paper soap for the rest of the trip, it was the best purchase ever. I've bought a bunch more since then for things like hiking/traveling because I hate, hate, hate using the bathroom and not having soap to wash with.
And I also always get the flu shot, but I seem to get the flu every third year or so anyway. I always seem to catch it from my nieces, too. I can tell you, the last time I had the flu I caught it from my youngest niece who was a baby at the time (who even brings a sick baby to xmas??!! Oh right, my sister-in-law and her cheating husband) and the time before that, I caught it from my middle niece. Those kids always get me sick.
I definitely worried myself into a stomachache, but I think I'm okay for now. Because I'm me, I decided to go to the store (I needed toilet paper anyway) and get myself a treat.
I kept it way cheap this time, I just got a new pair of socks. There is a picture of a cat wearing a business suit on the socks, so obviously they were a necessity in my life, ha ha. So if I do end up sick, at least I will now have new cute socks to wear when I go to the ER to get rehydrated. Winning?
