I'll take a win before work. This fishing talk may motivate me to put my canoe in the water. I just wasn't physically able to drag a canoe around the last two summer seasons. I find I can help out around the house way more too,ie mowing,etc.. Some days I'm not worth a damn with fatigue. I do best early mornings to mid afternoon and then I hit a wall, energy wise. I work two nights on my work schedule and they are challenging.

Speaking of work,I should get my backside in gear. Today is a short day and the afternoon is supposed to be nice and sunny. I forsee yard work in my future...or take the dogs to the lake. Hmmm...

Win!

Good to see you Dave....feel better soon...
Hot summer day here.....30C.......sat in the shade after the gym......very cool thing to do
Another week and I will finish the rehab....then I'll be able to return to the gym...looking forward to that
Had a less than perfect night last night....pains creeping back insidiously....hope it's a passing trend. GI appointment in two weeks time.....don't really want to go..so fed up with all this.
Still...could be worse.....
Hoping to enjoy the summer with freedom and no encumbrances.
Looking forward to a week in Quebec in July....fingers crossed.
Carol...I think the paint job was close to perfection if the only imperfection could be remedied with the ear bud.i don't think you are a perfectionist?.........
Sandy...sorry about your fish licence and hope it was righted...and after all that you did not get any fish...next time get some help from St Peter...he was good at fishing.......
Winning...........

30c Trysha ? wow !!! it's a cold 12c here and pouring with rain.
Are you feeling better than you did this time last year ? Mention all your worries when you see the GI,leave no stone unturned.
I touched up the paintwork with the cotton buds, and did a good job,I thought. But it was in daylight, and I've just spotted some missed bits under the electric light. And no,I'm not the perfectionist I was, back in the day.hahaha.

David...we are being conservative so as not to weigh down the system.......

Two poets who could not agree
Decided to go on a spree
They walked in the park
Until well after dark
Then agreed that they could not agree
Trysha

Kudos to you Mandy for trying....never give up and never give in
You will soon be writing the best limericks ever
It's up to 32C here...all air conditioners busy and using the hideously expensive hydro......
Carol you are welcome to some of our sunshine...on your shoulders..make you happy...
Winning..........

For perfection you could look to Edward Lear:- he wrote limericks:-

There was an Old Person of Dover
Who rushed through a field of blue Clover
But some very large bees
Stung his nose and his knees
So he very soon went back to Dover
E.Lear

Cheers Trysha i thank you for your words
I know i can fall behind the herds
I like to try and win
Though my brains not always in
When i've to deal with words
😃

Well done Mandy
It isn't who wins or loses but how the game is played
We all have a lot on our plates..sometimes enough for permanent indigestion....
So...a little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men....
Cheers!

Carol..I don't know what we'd do without you.....challenges save the brain cells and encourages new ones ....
we need those reminders...as well as the refreshing reports of your bike rides and descriptions of the English countryside...makes me homesick sometimes...and that's a good thing.
Kirsty..good to see you keeping your brain cells in poetic rhythm...good luck with your appointment
Hi Mandy....Ron...Sandy....
Winning..

I did not go fishing or put the canoe in the water.I did bring the dogs down to the lake and they had a wonderful time.I try and pick times to go to the lake that are,as best can be,people free. Some people are intimidated with large dogs.Bruce is 170lbs.now,all muscle at four years old.Dobby is a ninety pound full shepherd,Bruce is half rotti, half shepherd.I say all this because we met a Dad and his son,boy was 10,at the lake.I asked if they mind if I let the dogs swim, they were fine with it.The dogs and the kid ended up swimming and splashing together for a good half hour or so.Having a great time.Dobby would run out of the lake from time to time and give the Dad a wet 'kiss' every now and then.Dad and son said they had a great time too!It was a good time had by all.

I wish all good health and I will take the win! Even David who took my name and I had to find another one...I suppose helping to create this site that helps countless people cope and heal from IBD gives one the prerogative to take the name he wants...I guess.

I promise you Dave,I wasn't waiting to pounce on you.Pure coincidence.I was having a last look round before switching off for the evening.
I enjoyed your post so much.Alfie was a "water" dog.Sea,river, streams, lakes .lochs and muddy puddles. But NOT rain or bathtime. We still miss him and the life we had with him, every day.Our lives have changed, but that's what life is about.
Winning,or maybe not....Procrastinating again.

That's a lovely story Dave....just love hearing about dogs and kids and it was great they all got along so well....heartwarming too is the dog sneaking in a kiss to the boy's parents.
Need more reports like this one....
Winning....

I agree, that was a lovely story Dave. Those moments are moments that can never be entirely planned, but treasured forever.
Today was Memorial Day in the US, traditionally a day a day to memorialize those who lost their lives in the armed services. Originally it was called "Decoration Day" as people would decorate the graves of the fallen. It has morphed into a day that in addition to remembering those that served in the armed forces, families tend to get together and visit the graves of their loved ones, whether they served in the armed forces or not. There are also a lot of picnics, etc. In the first traditional category, I have a nephew who came close to losing his life in an IED explosion in Afghanistan, but thankfully survived and I've come to know and love him even more since his return home. In the second category, we spent the day visiting graves of our loved ones who have passed away (along with the masses), and brought my mother as we have occasionally over the years. My mother being just short of 87 years of age and moving to Indiana in August, it hit me rather hard that this might be the last Memorial Day we spend with her. Still, it was a lovely day and good to remember our loved ones.
On a lighter note (somewhat), Doug told me this morning that Allie was thinking about Luigi this Memorial Day, her fellow Boston terrier "boyfriend", that has gone over that rainbow bridge before her. Like Carol, we miss all our former furry friends as well.

Today my BP was 170/100 so now my meds are being increased. Also back on metformin for high blood glucose. I'll get it sorted soon.

Here's a good one.......The same water that existed on the earth millions of years ago
is still present today.Because of the earth's close cycle of evaporation, condensation,
and precipitation, that glass of water you just drank was at one time dinosaur pee.

winning

Hi all enjoyed reading all your posts.. some lovely n touching stories. Hope all are as well as poss.

I became a grandma today (a week early)
Little boy called Jaxon 6lb3oz at 1-20pm. So im winning me finks ☺☺💕💕💕

Seriously I am sorry to hear you are having such problems and hope they will soon be resolved....feel better..
Mandy...Congratulations on the birth of your grandson..how lovely for you all.
Carol...dinosaur pee indeed!!! You are a mine of information...but I would venture to think
maybe the pee evaporated with the dinosaur...
Winning.....

Dinosaur pee...kinda humorous in a revolting way. Congrats Mandy! What exciting news!! Hi all.

Shanen, soooooo good to see you. And that was my sentiment exactly.
Mandy, sooooooooooooo very exciting! Such great news! I'm sure little Jaxon is as adorable as his grandmother. Congratulations! I can't wait to hear little snippets of grandbaby stories as he grows...
Slept a lot of today with a migraine again (~sigh~) which always makes my blood pressure go up, but Kirsty, Kirsty, Kirsty, I hope you get that PB under control. As well as your blood sugar ups and downs.
Trysha, aren't you dizzy with your PB so low? Please take care too!
And I feel a little more "high" seeing Ron's "Hi" above, because he is always so good at greeting everyone and giving them a smile. :)
HI RON! :ylol2::ylol2::ylol2:
(Dinosaur pee indeed. I have a hard time even saying that.:ywow:)

P.S Doug has been watching outdoor/fishing shows all night. Just thought I would say.

Hi Trysha I'll give you some of my blood pressure. It's good to have the meds that will return me to some sense of calmness. hey Mandy congrats on being a grandma, yay!
Be careful Doug doesn't dream of fishing, he may whack you trying to cast a line.
Ron, thanks for all your good support.
Carol, thanks for your awesome fountain of knowledge, I love learning new things.

Sitting in t he gardens at the rehab centre waiting my turn at the machines in the gym...
Soon I will finish this programme and then transition back to the gym by choice.
The fees are nominal and quite affordable and it's one on one supervision at first...but when I earn my wings then will fly on my own...well... There's always unobtrusive supervision but that's ok since they catch you before you fall....!!!
Hope everyone is feeling better and enjoying the lovely summer weather...
Looking forward to more pearls of wisdom Carol......and challenges...

No longer the sounds of silence Carol ........Good morning to you
Hope our new baby is getting better today Mandy....also mum and grand mum....
The MRI was straight forward and to time with a very helpful gentle man radiology tech.
Afterwards he led me to a chair in the waiting area and said to rest for a few minutes...and then brought me an ice cold glass of apple juice.....wonderful caring treatment.
Wish they were all so caring as this tech. ...they are always professional but this person went the extra mile.
I had a crashing headache when I went in...still with me today.
The temps are so high 30+.....slight breeze today though.
My last day at rehab and then I return to my regular gym sessions here.
