Doug glad Sandy is doing ok....and Allie dog is improving. How are you doing at the moment?
πŸ’πŸ’•

I'm doing ok. Had my third Entivyo infusion this week. Did not have the fatigue attack. My Crohns is showing some "D" but not any other symptoms at this time. Sandy and I are getting a pretty good sized tax refund. When it arrives, we will buy a couple of Kayaks so this year we are not stuck on the bank of the lakes while we fish. I am excited about this.

How are you doing Mandy?

I had actually never heard that one. I got a smile out of it. :) I'm good, thanks for asking. I'm glad you had a good nights sleep.

Glad to raise a smile bud ☺

Thats good nights kip has been negated by a really crappy one last night. Feel rough n my shoulder joints really sore today but otherwise im good ta πŸ’•

Have a good day /night πŸ’•πŸ’•

CYY,

Are you out there bud? How are things?

Yup, here I am! :D

Things have been going okay with me. There's still a slight bump at the place where my abscess was, but it's not causing me any discomfort at all. Will the bumps from abscesses ever subside, or will it remain there forever, like a scar of sorts?

My next appointment with my GI doc is in 3 weeks. If the bump heals on its own, then I guess things are okay? I'd want to get it checked to make sure it's not an abscess during my school holidays though, but that's only in about 8 weeks' time.

Life's back to normal, I suppose. Schoolwork, MTX jabs, more schoolwork, doctor appointments, even more schoolwork. Trying to lead a normal life of a student Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―

Cyy, the fistula started as a bump for him too. It absolutely didn't cause any trouble at first. But when it decided to give trouble, it was the worst. Oh buddy, is there any way u can get it checked asap? Don't mean to scare u but it sounds all too familiar to me. Loads of good luck ur way.

Thanks Ron.Well I can only speak for myself, but I'm feeling very well today.
I hope your good lady is recovering and that you too are well.

CYY,

I agree with Madhu. If I had a bump I would get it checked quick. It all sounds very familiar to me as well. Those abscesses can turn into a nightmare really fast. Dealing with it now may prevent even more lost school time. I am thinking of you buddy.

Doug, I think you guys are really going to enjoy kayaking! The hubby and I have a very large & heavy 2 person kayak, it's big enough for us and our dog, so sometimes we take that out for a paddle. I also have an inflatable kayak which I can just toss in my car trunk and take with me anywhere, it's much lighter and more portable than the big kayak.

Mandy, I'm with you. My hubby worked a few temp jobs last year and none of them took out taxes, so we owed about $1200 in taxes! Eek! Fortunately I got a bonus check at work which was about $1000, so I used that to pay most of the taxes so I only had a $200 difference to make up. Still, it sucks having to pay rather than getting a refund check, so I totally feel for you as I had to pay too. No fun.

Ok joke time,

Nobody was talking anyway...

We are getting 2 9.5 ft kayaks. This has been one of Sandy's dreams for a while and with our refund we can finally pull it off. We are buying a kayak rack for our Honda Pilot and some kayak paddles. (I want to move around on the water! (LOL)).They are the plastic kind and will handle up to 325 lbs so it will handle us and gear. (I am a rare Crohny, 6'3" 260). I can hardly wait.

Geez, that sounds serious D:

I'd better let my GI doc know about that when I see him in 3 weeks' time. Unfortunately, I can't schedule an earlier appointment with him as he's fully booked this week and the next, and he's going back to India for a holiday the week after the next (Yes, he's Indian). :frown:

I think my GI doc would just refer me to a gynaecologist to get it checked out, 'cause I don't think he has the right to look at my private areas anyways. The referral usually takes about 2-3 weeks, so that means it may be some 6 weeks before someone can take a look at it ._.

I really hope that the bump is nothing but a scar from the abscess, but just out of curiosity, how much time do I have before this bump escalates into a full blown fistula? :/

Hi CYY,

It varies. My bump turned into emergency abscess surgery with fistulas in less than two weeks. Since you are on meds it may be different. If the bump gets bigger, turns reddish in color or becomes warmer than usual skin temp to the touch, those are warning signs. Keep in contact. I (unfortunately for me) have experience with this.

I wish you the best bud,

cmack

CYY,

I understand you not wanting your girl parts looked at by a guy, however I was not too happy to have a lady doctor look at my guy parts either. She was as professional as the guy doctors were. I now don't worry about it. A good doctor will never do inappropriate things. Still I don't blame you for the hesitation. It is a bit creepy.

Oh Cat that really was a bummer... lucky on the bonus tho even tho it would have been much better to be able to treat your self to something nice instead of paying those tax banditsπŸ˜ πŸ’•
Hope to find everyone well today. :ghug: πŸ’πŸ’•πŸ’ž

Mandy, that's for sure. In 2016 I got my bonus check just before going to Japan, so I was able to have a lot of spending money for my trip, that was really nice. Not so nice having to spend my entire bonus to pay taxes this year! :(

Doug, make sure to get life jackets just in case, too! And if you're bringing Allie on the kayaks, get her a doggy life jacket too. My corgi is NOT a strong swimmer so we always make sure she wears her life jacket when we take her out on our kayak (she loves it, she really likes looking at ducks from the kayak, and she will never bark at them presumably because she doesn't want to scare them away).

I've had all male doctors as well, it just happened that way. My GP is male, my GI is male, I saw 2 colorectal surgeons (the first one, female, was very dismissive of me, so I got a 2nd opinion from another cr surgeon who was male). I'm female but I'm used to it by now, it doesn't bother me. Doctors see so much that I'm sure it doesn't even faze them anymore. I have a friend who works as a nursing assistant, and he's told me that he's now seen so many naked people in his job that he actually really enjoys looking at people who are fully clothed. :p He said his favorite thing is when his girlfriend is wearing clothes. Ha!

Hi cyy. My husband's surgeon is female, I don't think it bothered him but I agree, I would hesitate too :) I think his bump didn't cause trouble for a month. He never had pus or blood drainage from it. It started giving pain after a month and quickly became severe and unbearable within a week's time. Keep monitoring it!

The doctor held a stethoscope up to the patients chest.
"How do I stand?" asked the patient
"That's what puzzles me" replied the doctor

Just returned from a nephews wedding...had a lovely day.. im now shattered as my baba jaxon was here fri/sat night n would not sleep 😯. Time for bed me thinks.😴😴😴
Love n hugs to all πŸ’•πŸ’žπŸ’:ghug:

I hope Allie takes to it as well. We have not forgotten life jackets, but I admit I had not thought of one for Allie. Cabela's carries them so we are good. We have a Cabela's nearby, (lots of fun). I already have one I bought a couple of years ago for my fishing float tube. Thanks for the reminder CAT.

I love Cabela's. I have to order online, we don't have one nearby. They have some neat stuff. My dog swims in the creek with otters, she is a strong swimmer. When she is wet she looks a bit like an otter with her head poking out of the water. I don't think the otters can tell the difference. :)

We have a Cabela's near us but I don't think I've ever been there! I'll have to check it out sometime. Doug, if Allie likes car rides then I think she'll like kayak rides too. My Lily hates water so we weren't sure if she'd like the kayak, but fortunately she loves it. She usually sits behind me and in front of hubby, and if I stop paddling, she'll start nudging my arm with her nose - she wants me to keep paddling! :p She doesn't want the boat to stop and she gets a bit whiney when we do stop the kayak to have a snack or lunch or whatever.

Hi ya all, had fairly decent sleep last night. The niggley headache has cleared now, though i could still do with being alseep n not up for work.
Hope you all have a good day. Keep as well as you can.
Love n hugs. :ghug: πŸ’•πŸ’žπŸ’

So very true Carol...n im never up for it really :)
At least the sun is shinning so it aint all bad...
Hope your are keeping well girl

Oh my... D:

I'd definitely be monitoring it. It's been the size of a tiny pimple for about a couple of days now. No pus, no redness, no warmth, no swelling whatsoever. Which is why I wondered whether it was a scar. I guess it doesn't harm to monitor keep monitoring it ._.

Fistulas and abscesses sound scary. I hope none of us here ever experience them (again). :/

Wishing everyone here all the best. Stay positive! :ghug:

Mandy, I'm with you, work has been very stressful for me lately - lots of changes and lots of added work and new projects and of course they're all high priority so I've somehow got to do a ton of things all at once. I kind of want to just run away!

I have been assigned a very nasty audit at work. The last several weeks it has taken all my time and I don't have time to attend to other assignments. It is driving me nuts. I know it will be worthwhile when I finally get it finished, but it is causing a lot of stress.

Doug, I can relate somewhat. Definitely can relate to the stress and large workload. At work we've just been absorbed by another region and our regional president was ousted, so now we're basically reporting to another regional president in another state. I had been doing a lot of spreadsheets and reports for our previous president, so now everything has changed for me and I've had to set up a whole new series of spreadsheets (while still doing my old ones, because the managers here still want to see those spreadsheets). Every day it's a new spreadsheet added to the mix and I get no feedback from our new president and then just today I heard second-hand that she hated one of the spreadsheets that I created. Great, that's awesome. I'm so glad I'm doing crazy amounts of work just to re-do it all again later in the hopes that she won't hate this one. Ugh. She's going to be in our office tomorrow and that's scary, because we're all pretty sure that there are going to be more layoffs coming.

The lady who waters plants for our building, she came by my desk today and was complaining that she's stressed out and tired. And I was like, your whole job is to water plants! That sounds like the least stressful job ever! Seriously. Maybe if I get laid off I can get a job watering plants. Or, when I was in Japan, I was at a temple that had a beautiful garden, and I saw a worker in the garden and he was trimming moss by hand with a small knife. I think I could totally be a moss-trimmer, that sounds very low-stress to me. I mean, if you do a bad job, it's just moss - who is even going to notice? Has anyone ever said, that moss looks shoddy to me? Nope, I highly doubt it.

Im sorry to hear your jobs are stressfull Cat n Doug.
I love my job n its not stressfull its just darn hard n heavy work. We have been moving shop fittings round today 😯 so im just shattered now. Damn this chronic fatigue argh 😠
. Still gotta look on the brightside...iv got a job n a lot of people havent. So il keep smiling ☺☺
Love to you all πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

Mandy, I wish I loved my job. Sometimes I do but not right now. I do like spreadsheets and numbers and data, and I'm good at it. But it's all just too much right now. I feel like I'm buried under piles of work, and the more I dig, the more buried I get.

Stuck inside for a couple of days as its pissing down, supposed to get 2 months rain in 2 days. The internet is crap where we are parked behind a large building, the good news is our water tanks will be full at home. Hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected.

Funny that Trev...we have the same forecast for the next few days....hang in there...can't last forever...the sun will come out..tomorrow.
Carol...sorry to hear of your "inconvenience"...same thing here...appointment with doc on Thursday....not expecting great things though....even though he's Mighty Mouse..
.Cat...so sorry for all your trials and hope you will soon be more comfortable with your workplace.
Ron...too bad about your C difficile labwork.,really sorry for your inconvenience,Having worked with the foibles of C.difficile and other bacteria it is essential to have really fresh specimens.Labwork is only as good as the specimen and the container it comes in.It is really disappointing to the patient when this happens and a viable answer could be to give clear written instructions for specimen collection...together with a suitable lab container.C.difficile is an anaerobe and does not take kindly to oxygen.
Mandy ..you do really well with your job and baby sitting...just be careful to take some extra rest and feel better.
Doug...hope you have finished that stressful piece of work and can relax a bit more
How are Sandy and Allie...
CYY...hope you are feeling better now.....hopefully the bump is just a bump and will go away....know how you feel with intrusive exams...but they are all professionals and seeing patients all the time....so try not to feel too badly.
Feel better Everybody....
Winning....

Cat keep digging you will hit the bottom of the pile and can breath easy again. So glad that i dont have to deal with paper work. Well other than the odd stock transfer..
You take care and try not to stress to much hun. I know thats easier said than done πŸ’•πŸ’ž

Hi Trysha..rest whats that πŸ˜ƒ.. i do try n rest at every oppotunity tho there are not enough hours in the day sometimes or so it seems.
Hope you feel better soon from your toilet troubles.πŸ’–πŸ’•

Been feeling tired these days. It's only Tuesday and I miss my weekends already ;_;

Thanks Trysha. Really appreciate it ^^

CYY,

I agree with Trysha. I hope the bump is just a meaningless bump, like a pimple or something. I wish you, along with everyone else good health. :)

Thanks Cmack :D

Yeah, it's probably just a meaningless bump. Nothing much to worry about :')

I'm sorry about the stress at work Doug and Cat. Sending you some motivation and peace.

Sorry about the bad weather, Trev. We learnt about tropical cyclones during geography lesson today, and they sure sounded nasty. Stay safe!

I hope you get your CDiff tested soon, Ron. I hate inconveniences too D:

Haven't read anything for awhile, need to go back and read, and can't stay because battery dying. But have to tell you (Doug told me he mentioned we were going to) WE HAVE !
KAYAKS! (Sorry poor grammar)

Hey Mandy. Is your son's birthday today? I vaguely remember you mentioning. I remember coz, oh yeah, it's my birthday today too [emoji14]

Hi CYY,

How are you doing?

Hi Cmack. I'm doing fine, thank you ^^

MTX jab tomorrow, so I guess I'll see you guys the day after ;)

Here's wishing that everyone has a great pain free day! :ghug:

Don't worry Madhu, I didn't forget about you. Happy (belated) birthday! :D
:bdayparty:

Happy birthday, Madhu!

Happy kayak day, Sandy!

Happy (?) Wednesday to everybody else!

I'm feeling rough again. Think I'm having yet another taper fail. SO sick of this and so sick of pred. Going to call my GI in about an hour when his office opens. In the meantime, everybody is invited to my pity party. Party hats will be provided by me.

Thanks everyone. Had a busy busy day that didn't feel like my birthday at all :)

Cat, I'm so sorry. You deserve a break.

Hugs to all !

Thanks, Madhu. I just got a call from my GI's nurse, she's always so nice to me. She's going to talk to my GI about my tapering issues and either my GI or the nurse will call me back hopefully this afternoon.

Cat, I am so sorry. Hope you feel better soon. No more Humira for me. I am supposed to call the infusion center regarding starting Entyvio.

Cat, so sorry you are still having tapering issues. I hope your GI can figure out a way to get you off the pred. We wish you the best.

Cat, I am so sorry. Hope you feel better soon. No more Humira for me. I am supposed to call the infusion center regarding starting Entyvio.

Ron, my Entyvio infusions go quite easily. They are quick infusions. Generally last about 30 minutes. Very unlike the infusions for Remicade (2 hours). I think Entyvio is doing pretty good, but sometimes I think Humira weekly was doing better.

The best to you and your family, Doug. I hope the Entyvio does great things for you.

Doug, when I called about having my syringes picked up, I asked if it was possible to ever go back on Humira and the person who I talked to said yes if the doctor ordered it

Yeah, it is possible to go back on Humira. The problem is, in some patients, going off Humira causes anti-bodies to build up against it. So the next time it might not work.

Very interesting didn't realise going off can build antibodies against a medication. Wonder if vedolizumab is the same.

KAYAKS! (Sorry poor grammar)

We are going to a small local lake this evening after work. Figured it would be a good place to break us in to kayaking. Well see if I can actually turn the boat!

I was supposed to have my first Entyvio infusion tomorrow but they messed something up with the authorization so I am not sure it will be tomorrow.

Good Evening.Just popping in to say hello and I hope you're all as well as can be.
Doug.we really need a photo of you and Sandy on the lake......
Trysha,Mandy,Ron and his good lady,Trev, hope the rains stopped,I hear there's been serious flooding,Jane, cmack,Cat,Kirsty,Madhu and her hubby, and Shanen and of course Sandy and Doug and Allie.Thinking of you all with fondness and if I've forgotten anyone I'm sorry, it's my age to blame, and I'll send you a cheque when I win the lottery. If I remember.

Cool, nah just send me a plane ticket to UK and a tour. Been crazy packing and unpacking for hospital. They just told me I have to come in a day earlier so Monday now not Tuesday.

Guess what? Our Kayaks can float in the water! And better yet.... I can actually steer it! We took them out to Bountiful Pond this evening and had a good time on the water. Not so good a time with loading the kayaks back on our Honda Pilot in the wind and the dark. But we discovered that Sandy can out race me on the Kayaks.

Doug,

You just need a bigger paddle. :)

I'm glad you had fun. Good for you Sandy! You beat Doug! ;)

This is the first time in years that I have been able to out-do anybody at anything physical, so I'm on cloud 9 tonight! In Doug's defense, he's only spent a few hours on a kayak over 40 years ago, and though similar time frame for me (or more), I have spent dozens and dozens of hours in kayaks and canoes. Also, the back of Doug's seat snapped out of position out on the water and we couldn't get it back in position, so I had a definite advantage. Yes, indeedy, my arms are stronger than my legs. And I was wondering if I would be able to handle a kayak still. I'm one happy girl. (Happy 22nd anniversary Doug! Love you! 😚😚😚😍😍😍❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀)

We have friends coming today (yes I know you're surprised I have friends) and we're going out to lunch. We've got lots of catching up to do as it's been six months since last time,so I don't think I'll have much time to eat.Mam always told us it's rude to talk with your mouth full. How many youngsters take notice of that bit of advice these days I wonder.Catch you later........I'm sooooo proud of you Sandy,I know you'll have a great summer.Happy Anniversary to you and Doug x
