I agree you are misunderstood. Who can understand men???
But I will give you the benefit of a doubt when you show how nice you can be, deal?

I repeat, how did your talk go Robert?

Teresa, I know a charity you can donate your TV to. It's called the Doug and Sandy charity. Our TV is about half the size of everyone around here. I'll even pay for my massage therapist to visit you for one hour, and she is good! Between methotrexate and her (and a little physical therapy) I don't think I would be walking today.

If I hadn't already promised Glenn the old TV I'd give it to you Sandy. But, it's old. The stand is awesome and huge. But the new TV won't fit anyway you try. It is on a mount you can turn from side to side. NO you cant have the new one. Sorry!:pale::Karl:Love ya though!
Ok back to work now. See ya later.

Actually, I'm just in a good mood because of my imagining visiting Carol's area after she described it.

I repeat, how did your talk go Robert?

Didn't see that Sandy - where did you post it?

It's tomorrow night at the business in London where I was Director for almost 20 years - they keep inviting me back to speak - will be 60-70 people, all smoking cigars! I was there two weeks ago for the party celebrating their 225 th anniversary (established 1787).

Will be a long day as afterwards we tend to go on somewhere - so will not be around at all tomorrow.

I was thinking I had the wrong day, but thought it was last night. Good luck. Posted it the day before. I'm always mixed up though.

I think I better color my getting blonder hair tonight so I can think straighter.

Bye for now friends!:heart::heart::heart:

Robert, I dare you - I'm up for a make over

Okay -

Kirsty - Sassy Kiwi with lucrative sideline as a life coach. Glamorous, raven haired young business women in emerging market. Passion in life for gourmet cookery and attacking hapless Brits.

Oh my gosh, Robert, how wonderful of you! Have you been drinking? :lol2: And totally yes to taking the mick out of Brits - I live with one that constantly does it to me when he is here. He keeps telling me I cant speak "It's egg not eg" "Its head not hed" as for bear. beer and bare forget he cant tell the difference, but kiwis can :ylol:

Oh my gosh, Robert, how wonderful of you! Have you been drinking?

Women! Give them a compliment and they think you have been drinking.

I can always tell the difference between a Kiwi and Australian accent though!

Language is funny - we all share the same language but very different accents - I know if I ever met Carol I would not understand a word she said - and she is only 400 miles up the road. I, on the other hand, speak like a BBC newsreader!!

Wish we had skype, wouldnt that be a blast? Imagine us hags in the morning on here drinking our cuppa and youRobert saying Who is that???:ylol:

No hags on here - only lovely ladies and sensible chaps - but it would be interesting to hear all the accents!

I know what you mean about the accents. Hubby is a West Country speaker - he does this really cool "ire" sound - "the fire","butterrr" and I say "buta" - it's so funny. He is half welsh and his uncle is very hard to understand. He only lives 2 hours away from his mum's.

Well okay - I have got a list now Cheryl then Teresa - but it takes time - I can't just pluck them out of the air!

Me neither, but I did my share when I was younger. Boy did I do my share!
Live and learn though. At least I grew up when you're supposed to grow up.
How is your trip going? How is Debs? Is she driving? I always drive when we are on a trip. Have you ever been to the US? If so, what part?

just checking the forum to see whos up who, and who hasn't paid, then we are off heading for home, should take about 3 days. Debs is driving. i was known to drink my bodyweight in alcohol when i was younger. sure dont miss the hangovers.

I always thought you had a good job!!!
I have to go for now. You have a great evening when you get done.:panda-wave-t:

I don't need a makeover either. Just a new body. I just spent six hours again ~ sigh ~ in the emergency room for smacking my head on the floor. They checked me for stroke because my face was numb and tingly and I couldn't say my ethes (s's). After the CT scan they assured me I have at least part of my brain left. No new losses. The male nurse, Randy, was kind of cute, though. (Sorry, Doug.)

av neva in me life sed "am gan doon th' booza then am gan forra geet big kebab" I do speak with a Northern accent but not in the slang that most Southerners think all geordies speak.I cringe when I do hear it.It's laziness or ignorance or both........well am ganna mek a cuppa fo' me owld man then am ganna tek th' dog oot roond th' blok, then woch a birra telly.:lol2:

Good Afternoon my friends.I see Sandy's been in the wars AGAIN.you must be on the hospital staffs christmas card list.Hope Teresas shoulder is feeling better and I hope you're having a good day Cheryl. And I hope everyone else is having a smiley day. And please don't ask me to explain Roberts post

Thanx Carol. Still sore all over. I overdid it yesterday trying to get my house back in order because I am getting company today. My son's girlfriend and he are coming for her first vist here. My hubby had the place such a mess you just would not believe it. From installing the new Tv and stand and all the crap inside the stand and on top of it (Pictures etc...):sign0085:
I couldn't leave it like that and took a painpill and went at it. Now i'm missing my group at church this morning. I'm soon to be a backslider if I don't get back to church:lol2:. I was off from dogsitting too.

Sandy, get well soon! You too Glori!!!
Hello Carol and Cheryl and Trev and Kirsty and Trysh and JG and Robert in London and Newbies! Hello all!:ghug:

Housework is the most thankless, never ending task ever.We all like our homes to be neat and clean I bet,BUT it really is just us.Nobody else gives a hoot what it's like.I know I don't care what other peoples homes are like. And men definately look through different eyes than women. They don't see dust, damp towels, awry pictures, crumbs or dirty wash basins. The list is endless. And women no matter what age will EVER be truly retired. But I'll always be a winner.

Yeah Wifey, you finally got home!!! I know what you mean about sleeping in your own bed. I stayed at my sister's until Tues. for a week dogsitting. Boy did my bed feel good. And nothing like the arms of your hubby holding you tight either. I hope you are feeling much better now!:thumleft:

Well---I have arrived to take the win.
Hi everybody--hope you are all doing well.

Robert---you do make a lot of noise waking everybody.
Time for you to be back though--- we need a cool note of reason.
No thank you to the cigars and beer! kind of you to offer.

Now to the serious business of winning------

WOW what a dead forum today!! We did miss you Robert. How was London? I hope all went well. Sandy fell and hurt her head and she is having mini seizures in her brain. Say a prayer for her. OK? I kept checking and noone was on today! I was lonely! My hubs took a vacation day tomorrow so we may drive up to a place in the mountains here where the elk come to to mate every year. We got a rental car and may go both days. I'll let you all know how it was. They are huge animals!!! Miss you all!!!:ghug::panda-wave-t:

Hi 723--
Hope you and Sandy are feeling better.
I had my appointment with the GP today and results were very good, no more bleeding.
As long as the microbiology is negative then the Remicade will be organised through the coordinator.Have not yet heard a date.
Still not too keen on the Remicade route but the GI and GP won't take no for answer (they gang up on me!)
since the last colonoscopy results.Have to do something since I had a bad reaction to imuran and there are not too many options.
It has been quiet around here today but it is beginning to wake a bit now.
It is intriguing to hear you are driving into the mountains, is it the Blue Mountain Range?
I would think the elk will be quite noisy, but lovely to see, they seem to be gentle creatures.
I took a long walk after leaving the docs office today,--- my thinking time---the weather was so perfect for walking.Usually I take the bus but could not squander such a lovely day on a bus ride.
The Niagara Escarpment is so beautiful at
this time of year with all the fall colours, flaming reds and oranges and lovely yellow and greens against the blue Lake Ontario background......perfect.
Make the most of it before the snow flies.
And now to win----

Sounds really lovely Trysh! Thanx for the update. I guess you best stay with the Remicade if it's working.
Where we are going is part of the Appalachian Mountain range. It goes through several states. The Blue Mountains are beautiful too. We've driven the 110 mile Skyline Drive through the Blue Ridge Monutains in the fall too. It is Gorgeous this time of year as well. Just love Fall!!!
The elk do make a high pitched noise like a squeal. We love seeing them. They are pretty docile unless you get too close. I'll let you know how it goes.:thumright:

I'm doing a lot better, thanks. I just hate hospitals and doctors.:voodoo::voodoo::voodoo: I'm glad your results turned out better Trysha. Have fun elk watching, Teresa. They are huge magnificent animals, aren't they? Don't get too close though, they are also dangerous, but I am sure you know that. (especially in mating season.) Have a nice day, night, whatever time you are at. Robert, be good.
I'm tired, see you all later.:medal1: I win.

We are leaving soon to Benezett to go elk watching. Sandy take care of your head today!! Be careful~ok? We will have a great time. Hope you all do too. Robert, no picking on the girls today, they've had a rough week.:yfaint: Thanx, Teresa

Bioheaded, keep Robert in line for me!

Time to appear for the win--------
Hi Everybody ---hope you are all feeling good today
Safe and pleasant journey to the Appalachians Teresa---have a lovely time, will be thinking of you in the midst of all that lovely scenery.

What is the Niagara Escarpment? Is it a National Park that contains the Niagara Falls? Do the Niagara Falls 'belong' to Canada or the USA?

The main cascade of the Niagara Falls belongs to Canada and has a drop of around 1300ft.
It is very spectacular and is contained within Niagara Canada. The Niagara Parks Commission is responsible for the whole area.
There is a smaller cascade known as the American Falls contained justup the road from the Niagara Falls and is within the same area.
Geographically this is a border city which has defined entry and exit points one of which is called The Rainbow Bridge and one can travel into the USA across this bridge which is constantly controlled by USA border guards and customs officers, like wise there are Canadian border guards and customs officials for people travelling from USA into Canada.
Duty free shops are available.
People can also walk across the bridge but in all cases passports and visas are required.
There is an excellent writeup in Wikipedia titled The Niagara Escarpment and gives full details which I cannot condense here.
The escarpment extends through Canada and the USA and is huge.
You really must visit sometime Robert and you could also hop off to Cuba from here to get the famous hand made cuban cigars in person from the maker!

Well thank you Trysha - I was not sure.

I have been to Niagara Falls though - when the children were about 7 and 9 we spent 3 weeks in Canada. Great photos of the children at Niagara Falls - my daughter was really into the Anne of Green Gables' books at the time so we visited the fictional home (cannot remember where now - but we took a boat I think). Absolutely loved Canada - I know I would feel at home there!

You would be very much at home here---life is a lot easier in this lovely country.
Anne of Green Gables was written by Lucy Maude Montgomery and the house Green Gables is to be found in Charlottetown, Prince Edward island.
You would have need a ferry boat ride from somewhere like St John New Brunswick or from Nova Scotia to cross over to PEI.
Now there is a bridge to drive over if you don't feel like sailing.
Lucky children to have already visited Canada. It is a vast country and you have not lived if you never visited the Rockies which again is a mountain chain shared by Canada and USA. Very spectacular.
Cheers! Robert-----

Canada and New Zealand would be my favourite countries to move to.

I almost moved to Toronto in the late 1980's to run a cigar shop - long story - I often wonder how my life would have been! Canada has it all - four distinct seasons - outstanding natural beauty - huge country - 'small' population - space - low crime rate and so on. Mind you Canadians are not big on cigars - so maybe not!

Morning all - how are we today? All those that are not well - I sending you my  all of those that are well I sending you :tongue:

It's too early on a Sat morning to be awake. Hubby slept in town last night due to having a night on the drink after a conference dinner. At midnight he text he was at Molly Malones, be interesting to see if his gout flares when I pick him...to take his crutches or no...hhhmmm we have to wait and see

So your husband likes cigars, boozing and football - reminds me of someone

Yep that's my hubby - booze, cigars, football, golf, cricket and good food.

My girlfriend and I went out for dinner at a nice restaurant by the sea - we had a great night

Me..American Football (but my Utes lost to USC last night) and good food. No booze as I want to remember my good times. No smoking as I really like breathing.

I can still be tempted when it comes to drink - but I don't do it often. I don't smoke either gave that up years ago

Hi everyone! Robert, nice you are back. I had a nice day or should say the weather was great and the scenery beautiful and elk too! I was sick in the stomach all day today. I don't know what brings this on. I was fine since the bout at Dana's house!!! It is a 2 and half hr. drive home through the mountains and the sun was setting. You would have loved it. I missed you all though. Doug, nice to see you back on this thread! Where is Sandy?
