Yes Carol, on both counts. I've really enjoyed my visits. I wish I lived down here closer. But my hubby works 5 min. from where we live and gas is so high!:sign0085:

I thought this post didnt show up, I looked and it wasn't there. I think something funny is going on here!!! Robert are you messing with the forum???

OK I do have to go clean or never get done. I'll be back when I take my break or get finished. Robert, before you make any comments about how easy cleaning is, you have to see the size of this house!!!! So keep the mouth closed!:ymad:

Hello Teresa

Feels like a fresh start on a Monday - so let's try and attract new people on here.

How do we do that though? newbies seem to flit in then flit out again. Are they trying to tell us something do you think? Perhaps we arn't as wonderful as we think we are !!!Are the current posters destined to be cast into the "Last One Wins" wilderness forever trying to outwit each other?

Cheryl will be back as sure as the sun shines and you know troubled old man!

Yes Carol had a wonderful time seeing all my family. I would move down this way, but hubby works 5 min. from where we live. Plus gas is high now. How much is a gallon over there???

Well I know there are about $1.60 US to the Pound
I know Petrol in the US is in Gallons not Litres
I know the US Gallon is different to ours - so hang on I will go ask my friend Yahoo

In our prices a gallon of diesel is about £6.60 - it is hard to believe. I fill up every week (between £60 - £80) - that's about £3,500 a year - now that is shocking!!!!

Ooh, awe! I'm sooooo jealous still of anybody who lives near, close to, or is able to visit a beach. it has been years since I have done so. hey, I just used my speaker to text button and it worked! definitely win! wish it would punctuate though.

p s I need a win. i just had a bad dream

Hi,Sandy. We don't care about your punctuation.I see by your week-end posts that you've been in the wars AGAIN............I think you better come over here where I can keep an eye on you. Please take care. You do seem to have a "Gung Ho" attitude:eek:

PS Carol. I'm going to send you private message about the dog thing. ( my dog just jumped up on my lap when I said that and try to lick my face in appreciation. that is a no no though.) just giving you warning because I am slow sometimes as you can tell

Thanx Robert, that is higher than here by far. But your income rates may be higher there as well. What is your minimum wage there? It is only $7.50 and hour here and that is 70% of jobs in America (guessing), but it's impossible to live on alone.

Not sure but I think it is just over $9 US - I couldn't earn less than the amount of beer I can drink in an hour!

Hi everyone! Teresa, knew you were cleaning, but now I'm getting sleepy, very sleepy, all this math put me to sleep. I'll be back later, too.:ghug:

Hi Everybody
It's a perfect autumn day and lovely sunshine---great for a walk in the park.

Let's make a comparison between the menstrual cycle and the symptoms from Crohn's disease....

Menstruation:
Mild to severe abdominal pain
Mood swings
Blood coming from places that normally don't bleed
Getting checked by a doctor in uncomfortable places using uncomfortable tools.
Happens typically for one week of the month.
Craving for chocolate or ice cream.:lol2:

Crohn's Disease
Mild to severe abdominal pain
Mood swings
blood coming from places that normally don't bleed
Getting checked by a doctor in uncomfortable places using uncomfortable tools.:hallo3:
Can happen for as long as it wants until it is checked by medications.
Loss of appetite and weight loss.

I think there's a slight comparison. Just saying.

And you would be correct, Bio! LOL, I always told my friends that my Crohn's cramps caused me to understand why they tell women to "breathe" during contractions....seems to the natural tendency to want to hold your breath thru them....

Yeah. Warm baths and heat packs are my best friends. Oh, and a good massage therapist... I got to find a new one now that I moved to the Boise area.

I hardly ever treat myself to a massage, I probably should, but seems like I shouldn't waste the money on myself. I hate that about me, lol!

Good morning all, I'm a bit late this morning. Our clocks went back on the weekend. Hi Bio great to have you here, and to the rest of the mottley crew - big hugs and kisses. I am blaming my sleeping in on the Humira yesterday and the disturbed sleep I got during the night.

If I'm going to live with this debilitating disease, I'm sure as heck going to make the good times great to make it at least bearable during the bad times.

Very similar, except we get the weight gain instead!!!:ymad:

Hi, never had either one of those, just premenstral rages and nothing was worse than that! Talk about a lunatic!:ymad:

severe to severe abdominal pain - in my case
Mood swings
Blood coming from places that normally don't bleed
Getting checked by a doctor in uncomfortable places using uncomfortable tools.

Craving for chocolate or ice cream all the time:lol2:

Crohn's Disease or IBS and other intestinal problems
Mild to severe abdominal pain
Mood swings
blood coming from places that don't normally bleed
Getting checked by a doctor in uncomfortable places using uncomfortable tools (in my case 5 seizures in a row).:hallo3:

Can happen for as long as it wants until it is checked by medications.
Loss of appetite and weight loss.

My pregnancy:
All of the above, even lost 50 lbs in first three months. Threw up everything I ate for three to for months solid (stupid doctor told me it was normal.)
No meds allowed, or very limited
Checked often by doctor in uncomfortable places.
Labor pains. Everyone around me crying like world is coming to end. I think, what is big deal? No worse then menstrual pains.
Told doctors I want no meds. They say okay.
Last 15 minutes of labor, change mind, want meds. Still think others in labor are the babies themselves. Can't get meds, too late. Hard labor, baby comes. Think I passed out with last push, not sure. Baby beautiful little girl born. Don't have her any more.

Hysterectomy. Uterus twice size it should be. Have to do it abdominally.

slight comparison. Just saying.

Don't feel picked on, Bio, we give everyone a hard time. That was a good comparison. If you notice my signature, it says I'm a blond and a winer.

Sorta. I'm going to have to come back. Her highness awaits me. Does Mike have computer until 10?

I wasn't really comparing it to pregnancy, but my wife's two pregnancies have been a cake walk. She even admits it.

And I'm not trying to be insensitive but if all I had to do was push a bowling ball out my hind end to be rid of crohn's for good, my name would be at the top of the list. Twice.

I'm still down at Dana's house. He's probably on thiough at home.
I am going to watch Salt Lake City" Antiques Roadshow" now at 8 on PBS. Hope you got my message!!!!

Does anyone in here use Humira? I am trying to figure out if it is ok to inject while being sick. I have a low grade fever and I was throwing up, but I am not anyore.

Yes Jamie, Aura does. She lets it warm up an hr. before injecting she said on the previous page. I would just google it and ask the question. Is it safe to inject Humera when sick? I do that sort of thing all the time. It always has an answer. let me know,OK?

Jamie, I just looked it up and I wouldn't. It says if you have been around sick people or have a fever even low grade etc... not to use humira. I would wait until you are copletely back to normal and of course, call your GI as soon as possible and ask him or her. OK? Hope this helps... TERESA

Thanks Teresa!! Gald I read your post before I injected. I ahve been trying to get a hold of my doc all day, but he has yet to respond and that is not like him.

I wasn't trying to be insensitive either. I sometimes (a lot of times) overreact. And I don't blame you for what you said about the bowling ball. I've seen what my husband has gone through and it it way more than me. I just like to complain. :ycool:

You can win for a second for putting up with me and still posting. :)

me too!!

I think after I went off of all of the antibotics, I cought some bug and now my body is trying to detox.

I just heard from my doc. He wants me to go on a clear liquid diet for 24 hours then get back to him.

GJ, Doug says there is a humira club forum thread also. I haven't looked because I don't take it - I just inject Doug with it. I really feel for those that take it. But what Teresa said above is accurate. :)

Hi I use Humira - but I am fairly new at it, if I think I am getting sick - like I have a fever and any other symptom I have to go to the docs straight away, can you phone your doc and or speak to a nurse to confirm if you should?

hi guys, just been to the eye doc, good news, no more eye injections, bad news, no more sight, now i have an excuse for being one eyed. how is everyone?

Yeah. He texted me a little while ago and he wants me to go on a liquid diet for 24 hours and then contact him tomorrow. Since I still have a fever he wants me to wait until tomorrow to inject.

Trev, are you coping ok with the news on your eye? Is there any vision and what you have is it? Or is there no vision at all?

Trev, I am so, so sorry. are you okay? No jokes, how are you inside? How is your wife? Does it change anything in your life that you wouldn't have expected? Take Bioheads idea and go get a massage. Do something for yourself. You need something for you right now. Hugs.

So sorry Trev. Hope you will be ok and will keep you in my prayers,,,

hi Kirsty and Sandy, i have blurred vision which is a pain, so i have been wearing an eye patch. Debs can drive the new motorhome so thats ok, lucky she can also drive a boat. just have to lower my standards as my cabinet making skills arnt what they used to be.

I did, I did! Doug recorded it for me because a friend from Idaho called. She also has epilepsy and is the one that introduced Doug and me. She is going through a hard time. Everyone on the forum seems to be going through something. IS THERE ANYONE WELL OUT THERE, EMOTIONALLY AND PHYSICALLY?

OK Sandy, sorry just wanted to make sure you knew coz of last time you missed it. Just takin care of my bud!!

hi Teresa, yes i got the name, so have 2 others, keep thinking. was a good name tho.

Teresa, you do a good job of taking care of people. Trev, did you see Bioheaded up above? He is into diesel trucks, and I'll bet you two would have a lot in common. Also I would still bet your workmanship is just a beautiful and no standards are lowered.
