Hubs is getting to know you all - I read it out to him sometimes :ylol: We just sit here on our sofa together and relax and watch tv but out sofa is a double chez lounge we have a whoppa of a sofa - one could get lost in it

Tonight we watching rugby game between All Blacks and Scotland - we didn't stay up to watch it as it was too late so we watch a replay.
 
Good that you had an awesome day GJ. We had a cold and windy one here. I had my gloves on when I walked to the post office this morning.

Also, I've noticed that lately Robert has been a bit more welcoming to the elusive 'A Team' I would like to implore all those who have been barred from the A Team, such as myself, to join my team. Team W. W for WIN!:thumright:

Hello everyone. :rosette1:

So I told you all about my friend the other day. Aperently she will have to have surgery on her leg. Anyhow today she was crying to me about how crappy her situation is and that she must have done something horrible in her previous life to now sufer so much with her leg. So to get her to snap out of it I had to remind her she was talking to someone who has had more than ½ their intestines removed. Anyways she is driving me absolutely nuts about complainen about silly little things like how will she get to and from the doctors. I said she needs to take a cab like all other people who don't have a car or can't drive.
Sorry.. venting... but like I said.. Driving me nuts!

Life in grand rapids is not very grand at all. Small town, just under 11,000 people. Small town mentality, zero culture...rather sad...
But on the positive side, beautiful nature. Awesome camping and boating. Love the iron ore pits and cliff jumping, and I'm close to family and friends :)

Why don't you tell mme a little about where you hale from???!

Leigh on Sea

The village of Leigh was first recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 as "Legra", a small fishing hamlet. Due to its good position on the shipping route to London, it began to grow and by the 16th century had become a fairly large and prosperous port. Ships of up to 340 tons are recorded as being built in Leigh, including many that would have been built for the local fishing fleets. nobody would remember this, but it was me who first started calling all of you loonies too, and was I ever right. At first you were appalled, but it stuck.
 
I've got to go make hay while the sun shines, then i will be back to catch up on posts, older and newer, but rest assured that I will win last, along with my fellow Utes.

I had my first cuppa in bed when hubby was getting ready for work that was 6.30 - now up, dressed and ready for breakfast and the day ahead - which will be branston pickle day!
 
I have never pickled anything, and Trysha, it is almost -6 Celsius here. We had almost a foot of snow in the last couple of days. Brrrr!
I think i will make soup today.
Also, i convinced Doug to do some of my chores, I need to sit and play.

I am doing laundry again, it never ends around here. You'd think I have 3 kids! LOL... My hubs wears a longsleeved teeshirt under his uniform for work, 2 pairs of socks too! I'd be carted off to the hospital for heat exhaustion. Keep prayers goin for jbug. She passed out!!!:frown::heart::heart:

Branston Pickle is a combination of onion, cauliflower, apple, dates, gherkins, carrot, swede, zuchinni, garlic, finely chopped with malt vinegar, all spice, cayenne pepper, mustard seeds, lemon juice, brown sugar, worcester sauce,
boiled and simmered before being packed in to jars.

Its great with cheese and crackers and yummy on bread. I am making it for my Christmas pressies this year as people really love my pickles. I am seriously thinking about putting a sticker on with with a picture of Mrs Brown saying "Made with feckin love":biggrin:

You are too funny Kirsty! We have something similar here called pickalilly, but not as many ingredients as that! Interesting combo, love to try it if you'd be kind enough to send me some LOL!;)

I gave up on what the commercial one has become. Originally it was so good but not the same anymore.

Thanks Trysha and Teresa, I have a reputation for my pickles etc - so thought it would make a good Christmas pressie this year. I'll reward myself with a bath at the end of the day as it will take the whole day to do it all.:thumright:
 
You will need a bath after all that vinegar! You'll smell fresh as the morning dew (summer's eve!LOL).:biggrin::heart:
 
Just me complaining again. I thought I would have a well deserved rest while (special needs) guest went to his very part time job and Ashley to school, and Doug, with a day off, volunteered to help with some of my things I was getting further and further behind in. Not to be. The supposed adult in the house where Nick is from, the one who is supposed to help with cooking, etc. (I think she is as much special needs as Ashley) decided to come over for a visit three hours before her work shift was too begin. I think she thought we would feed her, then take her to work. Not this time. I need to learn to be more assertive with the "I don't have time right now," but she saw i was watching television, so i invited her to join (a show that was recorded and i had wanted to watch all week.) She talked right through it.:frown:

Between letting myself get taken advantage of (way more to story about neighbor who is gone, but i love her son, Mr. Smiles) --- and i know it is my fault that she has taken advantage of me, mostly; my seizures that still are not controlled, and make me feel downright awful, and the fact that I'm afraid to go out in public because of these stupid seizures, or even going down the stairs, etc., my independence gone, and mainly the fact that that i know my thinking and ability to organize my thoughts and my energy are all going downhill, I'm angry, and feeling down. I know how Jen feels about doctors, too. :voodoo: Once you have a label, you fault or not, in today's world you are stuck with it. That is why i decided to be nicer to Robert, it is not his fault that i am a wreck.

Hey everyone,:biggrin: Got a text from JBUG,:heart: she has bad lung infection and she is dehydrated too, also anemic really bad. Not enuff blood or O2 going to brain,(I have that problem too, LOL).Her BP is too low and they put a banana bag on her to get her back to feeling a little more human. Say prayers for her please! Robert, she will be back to defeat u!!! She misses us and her fone wont let her post on the forum. She is only able to get one bar in there! But, she will be back asap. Sends love to everyone and thanx for ur support!:heart:

Steelers are still tied at 10-10. Don't know what will happen. Our quarterback got injured and is out for the game.
