Just doing what u guys all do for me!! I know how it works and the love is where it's at! You all mean sooo much to me too and can't even imagine my life without u all now and I'm serious!:rosette1::ghug:

Okay guys, catch me up please. There's no way my eyes will let me read a ton of post. Good news. The four blood clots have gone from the acute stage to the chronic stage. (a couple of them were already in chronic stage. Can't recall which ones though.)

It's raining this eve so rsd flaring. Did too much with arms that I'm not supposed to do due to the blood clots so now I have the pain and inflammation from that. When am I ever going to learn....?

Family didn't celebrate my b'day with cake and all this weekend. What a bummer. I really would like some cake and ice cream right about now.

Went to the Gypsy Tea House with my home infusion nurse and my daughter. What a blast. There were four older ladies at a table close to us and we could hear every word they said. One lady talked about her friend who had had three husbands and they all died. No, she didn't kill them. I started laughing and said to the folks at my table " have your heard of Arsenic and Old Lace? LOL!

:birthday2:Glori!!!
We have missed you! When r u gonna learn to listen, probably never, just like all of us. Everyone here is doing pretty good except for our little JBug you may not have met. She is in the hospital with a lung infection and is depleted and they are trying to refuel her as we speak. Robert is good and Kirsty and Cheryl hasn't been on much lately. Very busy. Sandy is dealing with evil children and Angel is too. Mine are finally coming around! We are all having Thanksgiving together for the first time in at least 10 yrs. So I am happy about that. Carol is well and is on everyday and Trev usually stops in the evening and so does GJ and Trysha. We all hope you feel better soon LOVE! Sorry you didn't get your cake, but Happy birthday!!!!:rosette2:

Where's DustyKat? I bet should could find me a real nice cake. :thumleft:

Don't know what I'm doing for Thanksgiving this year. If my dad ever gets rid of his cold, he'll come up. We were invited over to a friends house. Lots of people will be there. We're not going this year though. It would be too long of a drive for me as well as too much chaos and noise for my concussion brain. My boys were going to try to go to their grandmothers but plane tickets were just to high in price.

Have you been staying well? How did you fare in the hurricane weather?

I've got the lousy depression that comes with a concussion. I read an article that says it can last up to a year or more. Not if I can help it! My pcp said the percentage of folks with a concussion that end up with depression are higher than what the article stated. I'm not surprised. Knock your brain around and that's bound to mess with all the emotions. I told my doc that I now think I know what a bipolar person feels like. LOL! I feel emotions intensly. You wouldn't think a knock on the head could do that to you, but it can. Wow! That's all I can say.

My pcp said last week that I am in worse condition now physically than when I first came to her over a year ago as a new patient. I'll be getting lots of blood draws tomorrow. No, wait, that's today! Thank goodness for implanted port. Not pain!

Of course this :poo: is painful on the head.

Dear son got back safely from his overseas deployment. He looks great! But he is tired. He has been working for a company that does clean up after water damage & floods. This weather has kept him employed. It's nice to be able to hug him in person. So glad he's back. God protected him when he was driving his grandmothers care and hydroplaned and wrecked her car. Now he has to rely on friends and family for rides until he gets the car fixed. If it's not one thing it's another.

Finally got around to having a friend intall lighting on our stairs. It's nice to see the stairs in the dark. No more kicking the cats down the stairs. LOL!:lol2:

This must be sung in your best Marilyn Monroe voice!...

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday Mrs. Naturelover
Happy Birthday to you!

Birthday_Cake_image.jpg

I think there should be enough cake there for all of us. :)

Just don't invite Robbie...he's a guts. :yfrown:

DustyKat, Thanks for the cake! I absolutely love it! It's wonderful! Yes, let's all share it together and have a great big party! I'm grinning from ear to ear now.

Jen, why on earth does Robert call you Marcia? When I was a young child, my grandfather nick named me bug. I was so tiny. I shot up like a bean pole in high school. They can't call me bug any more. My nick name is glo worm. My real name is Glori.

Hi gang! I will answer the Pm's tmoro. Hubs is snoring so loudly I am switching to the spare bedroom for the very first time!:stinks: Just wanted to win one more time before I lay my head down again!:heart:Night loveys!!!

Dusty's just sharin the luv since u had the gall to eat chocolate cake n not invite any of us Robert, heel....geez- hugs- muah

I think i am the true winner her. The Steelers won in OT, my guest goes home in less than an hour, and things will be getting back to normal. (Actually, I'm not sure if "normal" is a win or not.?.?.

Watch and learn

You can't teach yor granny to suck eggs..............old Northern saying, put what connotation you like on it !!!!! Just been for a walk along the coast and had some lovely fish and chips, but because I'm not having a good day I feel a bit sick now.Still at least I don't have to cook,so it was worth it

I have agreed to pick my daughter up from work soon - she needs to 'get a few things' at the shops

1. what does that mean?
2. why will I be paying?

It's a strange life.

It means plan on about two hours of looking around, and she'll find something she doesn't need, but Dad please can I get it??? I just love it!!!
And you being the great Dad:facepalm: will buckle under and say, ok, but that's it!
You could be paying around oh lets see,$70-80.00 Maybe more:eek2: depending on what she NEEDS. LOL!:rof: Good luck!:award2:for being the best Dad!

This is my third attempt at writing this post. Wolf has sat or walked over the keyboard and made it disappear. Anyway...Good morning all  It's a lovely day here today. I have just had breakfast and that was a mission. Wolf wanted my spoon from my porridge. So I was eating and he was trying to get me and the spoon. He likes porridge, well he likes anything that I am eating. So breakfast was a little harrassed by a demanding Wolf. Now for cuppa and meds.

Today I have to do some work, but have breaks for ma and pa and lunch. Also going out with some girlfriends for tea. Hubs is away till Friday.

Still no word on the job front, last I heard they were phoning my referees. Please send prayers and good vibes my way - I could do with this break and at least not worry about money for 6 months or so.

Ta all :ghug:

Hello Kirsty - pleased to hear Wolf is causing trouble again.

These people would be mad not to offer you work. If you don't get it they don't deserve you.

One of your boys got banned for stamping on the head of a Scottish player - the Scot said it was a harsh punishment as it did not leave a mark. Tough game rugby!

Oh, no, no, no, everyone. Shove over! I'm here for a much needed win.

Prayers and gentle hugs and thoughts coming your way Aura. Crumb! I forget your name! I've been away too long and am having some long and short term memory problems from this darned concussion. Ugh! I take it Wolf is a cat? My cat, Ms. Liz loves to walk all over my keyboard when I am using the lap top. She likes to sleep on the keyboard as well. Snicker snicker.

Scottsma, Fish and chips sound good to me. Sorry they made you feel bad. Drats! Can't remember your name either. This stinks!

Okay, this is not fair. Robert, Sandy and Teresa are the only names I can remember. Don't let it go to your head Robert.

Robert, you will take your daughter shopping and buy her something nice, cause that's what nice, loving, sweet dads do. You may even spend over a hundred dollars. You will have a wonderful bonding time as you wander around the stores with her and wait for her to try things on. You pay because you love her. No other reason. Have loads of funD!

Jen, I hope you are feeling better today. The sun is so bright here today, one cannot help but feel better.

Blessings everyone!

Very best wishes for your future Kirsty.Everything crossed (as usual).Pets are fun aren't they.Thing is with cats, they can get to places dogs can't.I must say your pickle sounds ab.fab. I was drooling reading your recipe.I'm going offline soon,so you enjoy your day and keep well...........But I win for now.

Not so fast Scottsma! You may sign off, but I've got the win for now. Hee, hee.

Did Kirsty post the pickle receipe on this forum or where? I've gotta try making pickles. Never done it before. Any and all tips would be helpful. My daughter loves pickles and her birthday is in about six days if my memory serves me correct. She's growing up so fast. What am I gonna do...? Sigh....

Sandy hun, where are you?

Hello Glori,

I have been very kind to you lately - well you have not been around have you - so I have some catching up to do.

Thanks Robert :thumright: Wow - yes always good that Wolf is causing trouble - he keeps me on my toes.

Thank you re your statement about work.

The punishment if fair and just - he knew it wasnt the ball he should not have placed downward pressure with his foot.

It's okay to forget names :thumleft: I'm Kirsty and yes Wolf is one of my cats. He is the curious one. When I cook he is on a stool standing with his front paws on the bench watching me. When I garden - he tries and takes the tool away from my hand. On the computer - sits on the keyboard or the printer. Watching tv he sits in front of the screen. Now he is sleeping!

I am watching an early Cheers (they are showing every episode) - Cliff is just too funny - genius character!

Aura is Kirsty, and scottsma is Carol. No wonder you didn't forget Robert's name,LOL and me and Sandy and our big mouths. Hard to forgettoo LOL!!! Bless you too!:thumright:

The last night off. Work again tomorrow. *sigh* Taking the win.

Robert, How old is your daughter?

Work tomorrow! I think you should get drunk tonight - then it wont seem so bad.

Liz is 22 - still acts like a teenager though - lives for 'right now' - tomorrow will take care of itself.

Teresa - you must know what a Swede is? Swede and carrot mash - oh my!

Running to town, be back soon. Robert cherish this time with your daughter. Believe me, it is a gift!:rosette1:

Funny. Then I can call in sick because of a hangover.

Good luck with daughter. And have fun shopping. I am sure it makes her happy daddy pays (and the time together too). Wish mine did.

Sanni, Hello! We haven't met. Just and FYI, Robert likes it when you use the HUG button on him. You have to use it a lot. Tee, hee.

Wow! I have a bird wildly chirping outside my window. How nice! Makes me forget about the impending winter... The impending pain the cold brings.... Sigh...

Hope everyone is having a great day. Had a little snow here today. Not looking forward to winter.

Kirsty, what is swede? Never heard of it...

Hi Teresa "Swede" is called Rutabaga in Canada and is the correct botanical term for it.In England and elsewhere it may be called Swede---- a term I grew up with.
Cheers!
Trysha

I am watching an early Cheers (they are showing every episode) - Cliff is just too funny - genius character!

The Cheers bar in Boston is one of my favorite places to go!!

Hello all! Thanx for the well wishes! Been a tough couple of days. Eating and drinking are damn near impossible due to ulcers in my esophagus. They're flared pretty bad again. That's what's causing all this mess anyway. Things go better when you can eat and drink!!!

Hope all is well for everyone!

Robert, why'd you have to go and humanize yourself???! Its going to be harder to be mean to you knowing you're a good Dad! Everyone is right, cherish the time. I never had a Dad so cherish it a little extra for all us kids without ;) :thumleft:

Oh anyway...WIN!!! SMILE! :D

Teresa, its also called a rutabaga. Does that help?

Yes sanni! I actually looked it up to see and was going to go at Robert for not saying that! Thanx though and don't listen to Robert. Getting drunk never made me feel any better, especially the next day!:thumleft:

Thanx Trysha, I looked it up. I don't think I ever ate them. Do they taste like any other veggies?

You can keep your snow ryanps and your Cleveland Browns! LOL:ylol:Sorry, Pittsburgh Steeler fan here!:ylol::thumleft:

Ha-ha. I was born and raised in Michigan. But not a Lions fan either. Growing up "The Big D" always meant Detroit. Crohn's sure as hell changed that though.

Hi Teresa,
The rutabaga (or turnip) has a different taste and can be eaten raw,as children we were given it to eat raw instead of candies---and also cooked, it gives soups and stews a nice rich flavour
Hugs
Trysha

:rosette2:Guess I will have to try it nexttime I shop. I do like parsnips so much. My gramps used to boil them and then bake them with butter on them. Wow were they good. We went to a fancy restaurant here and they had parsnip and carrot soup. It was smooth and delicious. MMM...:thumleft:

Take a slurp through your vein! I do! Tee, hee! Just don't get tangled up in the tubing or on the pole like I do when I have to rush for the loo in the dark of night. Ha, ha, ha! I hope you heal up real soon. :rosette2:

Awe, a little banter never hurt Robert. He'd be lost without it. Makes him feel loved.:ylol:

Oh anyway...WIN!!! SMILE! :D

Taking a win cause it's fun. Enjoy your day folks!

was going to go at Robert for not saying that! Thanx though and don't listen to Robert.

Rutabaga? Never heard of it - besides I don't talk vegetable - it's a Swede!

Welcome back Marcia - having children does not stop me being meaner than mean.
I see Cheryl has turned up - thought she had gone for good this time - still!

Hey it's all done - I don't hang around. I got off lightly - it was all cosmetics and things like that - too many days left until payday and I am told it is a basic human right for a girl to have all that stuff - I was just summoned to pay at the end.

Yep, a girl feels lost without her goods!

So u got off easy!!!:thumleft:Glad u went tho, girls need Dad for more than things!

Ty! I am home now though, no more iv. Know what I hate? The noise of the iv poles being pushed down the hall. Specially at night when I'm tryin to sleep!!!

I hate that sound too. I have one IV pole upstairs next to my bed and one downstairs to roll around on the tile. Fun, fun.

Glad to hear you're back home. Nothing like home to recover. Home Sweet Home.

I don't do football either & I don't have a team. Shame on me! Ha, ha!

Its pretty fun. I never liked football til the hubs. Hes a die-hard Vikings fan. We go to all their home games we can. But my fam is from plymouth mass. And my gramps always used to call me when the patriots would play. Last yr, at this time, I was in Boston, at mass general with my gramps. He was in the icu on life support. I hat to 'pull the plug' I left my heart back in Boston. I gotta go Patriots now. As a plus, it drives the hubby mad!!!

Robbie, don't get ya knickers in a knot! A swede by any other name would taste as sweet!

When my Dad came to Australia he refused to eat turnips, he was shocked that Aussies ate them and I still hear it till this day...

Ye dinna eat neeps! Neeps are only for the coos! :rof:

Ryan, that comment about Charlie Sheen made me laugh outloud! :) Robert, dear heart, you KNOW better than to count me out, when will you learn? (Shakes my head at Robert, tsk, tsk, tsk...)
Teresa, lol! Changing up my comments? Sorry you had to put up with Robert the last few days....

What are courgettes, cornichons, and gherkins? jWhat is malt vinager? Thanks!

Hi courgettes are zuchinnis, conichons are baby gherkins. Gherkins come from the cucumber family and are pickled in a vinegar. My receipe for that takes 3 days!:ylol2:

Malt vingear is a dark brown vinegar, good for the toffee in toffee apples. We have white vinegar, cider, red wine, white wine, basalmic. Asian cooking also do a black vinegar.

:thumleft:Kirsty, your cooking, although wonderful, has lasted far too long. Actually, your cooking can't last long enough, but your win has. All my guests have gone home, i slept an extra five or six hours today, now I'm ready to win.:ysmile:;):biggrin::rosette1::bigwave::cheers:

Yes Jamie, us women have had to deal with that forever in our lives and even though some goes away, other things start that can drive u just as crazy. Our whole lives we deal with health issues that can toss u for a loop! But, I still wouldn't want to be a man either!:ylol2:Some days I just feel like cryiong for no reason and that sounds like u today!:cry:It will pass and u will be smiling again soon!

:rof:Not did yours!:rof:

Hey, how did all of these other posts get in there? Teresa's was the last one i saw

Leaves things wide open!!! :eek2:

Sorry, looks like you will just have to take the win at home!
