I had never heard it. I guess we all have our own language, customs everywhere.
Like yours, being a shortcut to readying up the house, picking up the house is a shortcut to picking up the things in the house.

I've always laughed at Ashley's term "hoping a shower," however, instead of "going to take a shower" (another strange one, if you think about it, but that is what everyone says here), but I'm sure is short for hoping into the shower.

Still down, gonna fight threw this. Bugger is home, more stones than expected but got it all taken care of. Thank the good Lord. She's supposed to rest, but probably gonna drop by b4 she does. U no her!! Muah- hugs-

Just heard from JBug. She is on her way home, had some complications, but out and doing okay at moment.
 
She had stones growing on stent that that ripped some tissue, more stones than expected, and her bp went too low for awhile. had to go back second time to recovery. like said, finally on way home though. :)

I hadn't seen some posts above. they appeared while I was writing my post, I guess. phones are slower.
 
Great to hear that bug is out okayish. That is very good news and the highlight of my day.

Kirsty, the flowers are very lovely. Thank you for caring. We are all very happy that Bug is okay. It has been a long road and it's hard to not attached to each other at some level :hugs:
 
Sandy is right Kristy!!! Thank you all! This is an amazing community! I am exhausted, but already feel so much less pain. Angel, you know me, sleep and rest elude me. However, I did just promise Mom I would go to bed...can't lie to Mom!!! But that reminds me, T, you said the "JB" should be "jumping beans" cuz I am so hyper...the doc sait it took an "increadible amount of anesthesia" to put me under!!! LMAO Said it was enough to put an elephant down...to which I replied "are you calling me fat????!" He stammered for a minute on that one! (I sometimes enjoy doing that to people...men don't know how to act when you accuse them of calling you fat!!!!) I got a good laugh out of it. So did Mom! Anyway, thought it was funny that you say I am uber hyper, and it takes an elephant tranq to put me under!!!! :)

I will be back tomorrow. Doc ordered bed rest til Thursday!

Hope all of you are well, and I truly mean that!

Won't BUG u too much, just to let you know that the reason I couldn't post your picture is I couldn't get it to go into our photos. I downloaded it and it went into Bluemail. I am just not good at these things. Mine also didn't have a whatever you said on my right click. So I just tried everything and gave up. Once I can get my hubs to download a pic I like, then we'll try again. Now get to sleep young lady!!!:lol2::rosette2: LOVE TO YA!

The tide is coming in outside now as I look out the window I did manage about 1 hour in the garden which was good. I planted out parsley, rosemary and thyme, dill and pumpkins.

I have had tea and just relaxing watching tv now. Bugs its great to hear from you. I hope you manage to rest well - we will all catch up with you after some rest.

Hubs comes home tomorrow so that will be great:thumleft:
 
hi Kirsty, where is hubby? we are supposed to be picking up daughter from airport, but all flights from AK cancelled due to stupid mountain erupting, she doesn't know where to stay as her motel is fully booked, means we are dog sitting for another day.
 
He's in Blenheim back tomorrow, bugger about the planes. I did wonder when I saw the eruption cloud if it would do that.

Hi all,just had a quick scroll through and everything seems to be as it should. Very good news about Jen,speedy recovery,love.Robert wasn't on at his usual time this a.m.? Maybe he went into London early to get our Christmas prezzies......been for some paint for the bedroom today.Got suede effect burgundy for the bed wall and dark cream for the rest.Might do it next week,or might not.Horrible rainy day here.Gonna walk Alfie soon,then a lazy afternoon.Might even read.Taking the win,back laters.

Hey Stacey!!! It was a rough go about it...had some complications, BUT, they were able to get all of the stones out, and I didn't have to stay the night, so it went GREAT!!!! Lol! I am feeling better, though I should have a few days of pain. But it is better than it was!!!! How was your day? Any plans for today?
 
Painting is one of my least favorite things. But it beats wallpaper. Wallpaper should be outlawed. I remember reading Bill Gates' book years and years ago and we are all supposed to have programmable walls by now that can change to anything we like. Yeah, don't think that is going to happen anytime soon.

Well,all washed up and sitting down.It's 3-45pm and I didn't get sat down as early as I would have liked.The thermostat (heating) came off in my hand,and while I was faffing on with that I burnt the apple pie.Managed to salvage enough for Les though,it's a good job I'm not bothered about it.As to the painting.....Les is doing it.I've got arthritis and find it difficult now.Well,that's my story and I'm sticking to it.I'm the works overseer and tea maker and cleaner-upper and BRAINS.Wouldn't that be good though,change a colour scheme at the filck of a switch.I can think of lots of other things that would be useful for.

Ryan ~ Yeah, it hasn't been much fun! :lol: But I am on the mend now. I already feel so much better with the stones gone! And my pneumonia has cleared up as well. So I am pretty happy right now!!! Do you have plans for Thanksgiving? Family dinner?? I love Thanksgiving because I love to cook for people. I always get up early and start 'the bird!' Making some pies and pumpkin roll ups today! :)

Stacey ~ I will rest!!!! It's tough for me sometimes! But aside from my baking, I will only be playin around online, drawing, and doing some stiching or crocheting. All the while, being waited on of course!! ;)

Angel ~ MUAH!!!! Loves You! I am sorry you're feeling junky, that makes me sad. Sending you lots of love, and good vibes!!! I'm workin on that drawing today too!

I think I'd like to have Thanksgiving - I like any reason to cook a nice meal :lol2: - I am a thankful person :ylol:

I DON'T!!!! But now I will have to look that up! I love steamers, and I love seafood! I did a New England style Thanksgiving a few years back. Baked stuffed lobster, steamed oysters, muslces, and scallops. I made some yummy green beans and butternut squash to go with it all...Soooo yummy. But I was in Boston that year and could buy everything fresh for a very good price. Here in Minnesota, you can't get fresh seafood unless it is shipped overnight for a small fortune. In our grocery stores we pay about $50 for a frozen lobster tail. And it's rock lobster, not Maine lobster :(

Hey I phoned up the people that I had the interview for...the woman said I had ESP as she was looking up my CV on the computer. She said that they will be in touch tomorrow the delay was for them to secure enough funding for the role... - gosh knows what that means. But I think she would have told me if I did not have it then.

That's about like the midwest then, on fresh seafood. Oh, my mom made the most delicious oyster dressing, gosh I miss it! I never got her recipe.
 
reading past posts just now, I thought I would mention we just painted Ashley's walls and put new flooring in. I used to like painting and was good at it, but I guess I've turned into an old lady. Doug had to finish. flooring done professionally, and I am very glad of that.

Going to my wife's Aunt/Uncle's about 15 minutes away from us. Makes it nice since our house is a little cramped and we never seem to have enough seating. Have a nice relaxing day.
 
Warning.. mega venting incomming...

You know ths days when all the clean dishes are in the diswasher and every time you take one it reminds you you should just empty the diswasher. And the house needs cleaning.. and clothes need to be put in the washer.. and just a hundred things to do and you just feel tired. And just dont want to or have the time to do housework. And wish someone else would do some of it. But when someone else = cat + cat +dog.. well its just you then isnt it. And its just you on everything. If you don't do it yourself no one will. Argh... Doing everything just wears you out sometimes.. I want a break. I want to have the energy of a healthy person for just for 1 day (well.. maybe a bit more.. lol) so I can compare what I would be able to do then.. or If i just think its that much more.
 
Everyone, including those not from the States, have a wonderful day tomorrow because although we have a lot of difficulties, we have a lot more to be thankful for. :) :) :)

I spent my entire lunch hour so mad, had called my daughter ask her to do a couple of things this morning, make less for me on my lunch hour and tonight, right? Was ANY of it done? Nope....par for the course. I get so frustrated....she is 18, old enough to know better.
 
It's funny how even the ones in your house don't even understand. Doug and I very seldom argue, until health problems on both fronts arose. we learned to keep it to a dull roar, now we are much better at supporting each other. It gets really hard whenwe bothhave no energy at the same time (which is often), but we understand each other better.

Just remember your daughter is still a teenager, no matter what.
