Hey, just a quick question, I was just wondering, I just got DX 4 days ago and have been on Pred 50mg for 4 days and going on day 2 with Imuran. my belly feels a little better but I am wondering in time will my Bowel Movements get solid again? How long am I looking at before that all comes together. Secondly, is moonface inevitable? are there any cases where it doesn't come? lastly, now that my immune is down, what precautions can I take to try not to get sick/flu.

wash your hands a often to keep from spreading germs to your mouth from all the things you touch. Keep your teeth clean too.

nobody can tell tell you how long your going to have loose bowels. Might be a few more days. Might be a few years. Imuran takes a long time to effectively lower your immune response. And it only reduces the immune response. You might end up actualy not noticing the pesky little colds and stuff at all since all you ever really get bothered by is the immune response in the first place.

Hi, Are you getting Regular blood tests to monitor your blood count?
I had alot at first then fewer when it appeared to level off.
The Moon Face didn't occur until I was on Prednisone for a Long time.
A few months at least. It may vary.
I wish you well..........

On the pred, the side effects seem to vary quite a bit, individual to individual. I can tell you I'm tapering off 20mg, which I had been on for around 2 months. Much less than you are one, but for what it's worth, the only obvious side effect I got was a slight "speedy" feeling just after taking a dose, and that was only initially.

No moon face for me this time but I am super careful about what I eat. I never got the Pred munchies this time either.

Thanks for the insight guys...I feel speedy too at times...oh by the way, how do I put a picture to go with my posts like you lovely people have?

I was fine on pred with any side effects. Main point id like to say is if/when you feel better do not stop taking the pred until your doc tells you how to. I was on 40mg, down to 20..felt better and stopped it ... week later my stomach was in so much pain. Taking it again (at 40) and has helped no end
