Hi guys...Its great to see a message board about this and doesn't make us feel like we are alone with this disease.

I just had an Upper and Lower GI done yesterday and was told that most likely I have Crohn's disease. We are just waiting for the biopsies to confirm it. I was also diagnosed with GERD. What a great combination. If its not coming out one end, its burning at the other end. I've had "issues" for years and refused to get check out until about 6 months ago when it became unbearable. My whole life revolved around the toilet. I also have dibs for the bathroom. UGH!

My main concern is that my mother had an ileostomy when she was 24. They didnt know if she had Crohn's or Ulterative Colitis (this was back in the early 70's) and I refuse to have that. Its not being vain, its just that I watched my mother have 17 surgeries and was in miserable pain for 40 years with it.

Anyway, its great to see you're not suffering alone. Thanks guys!!

Melissa

"If its not coming out one end, its burning at the other end." LOL!!!! So true! Welcome to the forum! It has been a great place for me to learn about CD and it is nice to be able to share info with each other. I hope your path is easier than your mom's has been. :rosette1:

I got a kick out of that, too! Sounds like our life stories around here...
I'm sorry you had to find the forum under such circumstances, but glad that you did find it.

Welcome!

Hey there Melissa and welcome :)

I'm sorry to hear you've been having problems and it looks like Crohn's :(

You are definitely not alone and we're here for you anytime you need us. Please keep us updated as to your biopsy results and if it is positive, what treatment regimen they're planning to start you on.

All my best to you.
