on three meds and none are working

I take 150mg of 6-mp, 80 mg of humira every two weeks, 40 mg of prednizone. running out of options fast. I had two surgeries in last 6 months. just hurting all the time. what do i do. i danger of losing job, i am contracted employee, can barely leave house long enough with out having to be in bathroom for 30 - 45 min at a time. im so fustrated.

Welcome Tallman! How long have you been on this cocktail? We have a user, Beth, who is very versed in Humira. She was helped mostly by going to weekly injections. Do you get any relief from it at all? Are these the first meds you've tried?

My ears are burning :) Have to say that if 80mg Humira every other week plus 40mg pred is not doing the job you really are running out of options. Weekly 40mg doses may help spread out the goodness, but...

I'd suggest Remicade, as perhaps a more potent biologic, at least different, but they are not miracle workers. Maybe serious IV steroids could help get the inflammation down enough to let the other drugs maintain you properly.

Otherwise surgery does have it's place however off putting some of us (me!) see it.

So where is your Crohn's located, colon, small bowel, illeum/etc? Your 2 surgeries, where were they, were they resections?
What are your care team suggesting?

Welcome to the forum. Have you and your doctor discussed what the possible next step would be? I agree with Beth, you could try weekly Humira or perhaps Remicade.

I sure hope you find the right treatment plan soon.

40mg of Pred makes me feel invincible, but sometimes it doesn't work orally depending on severity.

IV Hydrocortisone might help, but you'd need to check into hospital. Or maybe you could ask you GI to switch you to Dexamethasone, it's 4-5 times more potent than Prednisone.

Good luck.
