With the nice weather I'm making a real effort to walk more to be healthy and maybe force my body to be nice to me. I'm finding it's not helping with my fatigue at all though and I'm getting so much joint pain. I know I have osteoporosis but wonder about arthritis. Do you think walking would help or hurt?

Hi NGNG. My specialist told me to push it - but I don't have ostioperosis. I may have arthritis in my hip.
Does shortening the walk and going more often help?

Specialist said walk an hour a day. That just did me in. Two 30 min walk is better. Still wipes me out but I'm sleeping better at night.

I have been breaking them up but the chronic severe fatigue is awful. Im pushing myself though because I can't let this illness turn me into a hermit.

I had a talk with my pharmacist to see if Siberian ginseng might help with fatigue (I've read chemo patients can take it to counter its effects). She looked at all my meds to see if there was a risk of drug interaction - none. I'll confirm with my GI today. She said if it isn't working in a month don't waste anymore money on it.

I have a bad hip and knees, only the hip is minorly related to the IBD. The knees were caused by being teenager (and the stupid things that come with that affliction).

I recommend a cane, I've been using one off on since I was a teenager. The key is to figure out which side is worse, and use the cane in the opposite hand. My left hip is bad, if I hold the cane on the left side, I'm still putting all of my weight on the left side. by holding it in the right hand, you're able to spread out some of that pressure. As long as you time it right it helps a great deal.

Fatigue, Crohn's and joint pain makes me suspect mycoplasma infection. Same symptoms I had a while back. I just had joint pain in my hips though.

Hope you find a solution.

Dan
