Hot,Hot Hot,My unit gets the sun all day and all last week at 11pm it was around 36c (over100f) . No aircon ,almost impossible to sleep. Have the fan going all night and no sheet even. It is making me quite unwell. At least I had a quiet christmas day,No visitors,no aggravation.

All our snow melted last night from the rain! Tmro it's supposed to be a rain ice mix!!! Just lovely when I have to drive 23 miles to work!:(

It looks lovely today. Sunny and bright.. ofcourse that means the temperature had dropped too.. -15C (5F). And since it has been snowing non stop last couple days we have nearly an other foot of new snow. And since its holidays no plow cars to be seen. But hay... Atleast its sunny. :)

Tis bucketing down ice now mixed with snow and not a salt truck in sight! REDIC!!!!

Now there is a snow moblie racing up and down my street!!!

The weather in Ireland is cool and overcast to-day -about 38F I would say- and we rarely get snow here . It is a public holiday and I have been taking the opportunity to make some contributions to medical websites. I am being interviewed for a program on Norwegian TV next week about LDN and that is why I have arrived on this site. I am a family doctor in Dublin and was delighted to find the names of 3 local specialists listed on this forum- one gastoenterologist and 2 surgeons, one a professor of surgery.
I have been prescribing LDN for over 10 years but only one of my own patients has Crohns. He was diagnosed at 14 and is now 31. His life was painful and misererable on Dipentum and Entocort when he came to see me in 2006. I am happy to report that he has been well since on 4.5mg naltrexone at night. The research in America by Dr Jill Smith is very encouraging for patients with this condition. Dr Edmond O`Flaherty

OMG, Edmond,

can't get to try LDN here. gastro bloke said "what's that?". Do you know where i can get it. can i buy some from you? Almost all meds have failed or had hideous side effects.

Yesterdays -14 (5F) is now a +2 (35F). Its wet wet wet.. with about ½ meter of snow starting to melt. Slush and Ice on the walk ways. The steps of my apertment are a layer of ice.. nearly fell down in my first step out this morning. Not at all pleasant (or safe).

I know. I have some spikes to put on my boots so used them when I went out the second time. Much more secure. Still need to be careful. It will freeze again tomorrow so I expect it will just go from bad to worse. Preferd the cold and fluffy snow to this weather.

Yes, I am terrified when it is icy. I once went to visit a friend a couple yrs. ago and her road on a slope was black ice and I didn't know it. My feet flew out from under me so fast and the back of my head hit first. So hard I saw star. I had a huge egg on the back like 5 inches long and stuck our a good two inches. My friends put ice on it and prayed for me and I held the ice on for 2 hours. The lump came down some but not alot. I had pain there for a whole year!!! I was lucky I didn't die.

Thats so scary. Didn't you go to a doctor? I have had a couple good falls in the past too. So far no broken bones ever. But with the osteopenia I am a but paranoid so yeah... using my spikes. You stay safe too Teresa.

No I didn't go, stupid me! I didn't realize how dangerous it was. But, God took care of me, because I am ok!!! You be careful too. I need some spikes. Have never seen them here. Probably sell them at a sporting goods store. You stay safe too Sanni!:)

Christmas eve we had a couple of inches.Enough to make a white Christmas:dance:. Clear and cold Christmas day. That night the next storm moved in.I blew about 6 inches of our sidewalks yesterday and am about to do the same now.

Us too Doug, only we got an inch of ice first! Should be fun to clean off the car!:stinks:

Still hot in eastern Australia, most days are in the mid thirties (celcius). Perth in western Australia has been consistently over 40 celcius all of this week. The heat is killing some aged and invalid folk and the Bushfire danger is critical. We need rain badly.Ron.

Thanks Ron.Haven't heard from our son in Perth for a while except by txt. There's one thing about the British winter, you can put the heating on,put a sweater on or snuggle into a warm bed.I found the Aus.heat inescapable even with air con.Take care......quite mild here today, for the time of year, 10celcius. overcast but dry.

I'd rather have this cold weather then hot anyday! Cold here but sun came out. More snow tonight thru tmoro. A couple in. Oh boy!!!

Had a good snowstorm...25 cm (10 inches) at my parent's place (where we were since Boxing Day) and 12 cm (about 5 inches) here.

Yay, it looks like a nice cool 31C (88F) for new years, definitely beats past year which must have been at least 40C (104F) here in Adelaide, South Australia.

I'm getting a bit sick of the muggy nights though, with lows as high as 25C (77F) not uncommon. It's supposedly 19C (66F) here at 1am, and not having luck sleeping :(

-12C with a -23 windchill (10F -9F windchill), sunny and blowing snow. We ended up with about 25-30 cm of snow from the storm yesterday (10-12 inches)

Here is a view down the street yesterday morning at the height of the storm

What is your new years dinner traditoins?:shifty:

They have put out a country wide aleret today in Australia. The whole continent is under a band of extremely hot air with no rain. They are predicting that some areas inland will expereience temps in excess of 47 c for most of next week. Fire bans are in place nation wide and we are expecting strong winds in conjunction with the heat I just hope that the inevitible crazies keep their matches in their pockets and we get thru it without any major bushfires.Ron.

Alert!!! just seen weather forecast and i think we okay for the next few days. That's no rain!!! whooopppeeee! Many country lanes have terrible potholes now and there's still water everywhere. Our farmers were considering paddy fields on the news today, lol. And we've just had our second wettest year on record.

Hey Ron, I'm in Central Qld and we have a scorcher here today, it's way too hot to be out in the sun, a really dry heat and winds....hope those in the country like me are safe from fires etc.....

Really hot with strong winds here, in Victoria, also. Already a number of grass fires, one quite bad in the Dandenong area.

Surprisingly mild in Glasgow for the last couple of days, considering how cold it's been for the last couple of weeks! Glad it's warmed up a little for me going back to work :)

No change here ,all's well.Looking at the rest of the world,we've got nothing to complain about.........but we will,no doubt.

Hi farmerswifey,Susan2 and upsetmom. Unfortunately it looks like Tassie is copping it this time, latest estimate 50-60 buildings gone and Hobart had their highest temp since they started recording them , A slightly cooler day tomorrow then back to real hot. My wifes sister lives out Windorah way. This has to be one of the hottest summers I've seen in over sixty years. I'm glad I live on the sunshine coast hinterland and we get a sea breeze every afternoon.Keep safe everyone and as cool as you can get...Ron.

Thanks, Ron. I am right on the coast, so get the seabreeze when it comes in. I took the dog for a walk along the beach at about 8.30 tonight and it was just beginning to get cooler. We are going to have a couple of cooler days then the temperature is set to rise again.

I have friends in Tasmania and have checked that all of them are safe.

Thanks Ron ..i'm also right on the coast ....so it's not as bad as some other places. I was looking at the weather channel and some place are reaching 45c

Still very cold and we are to get snow tonight and tmoro, but only an inch or so. Warm up into the 40's by midweek, yoo~hoo!!!!

-7C (windchill -18C) 19F(0F windchill) and sunny. Had a freak snow squall here just before lunch, it was snowing with an intensity that I could not see the house across the street. Cleared off as quick as it came on though, managed to get the outdoor Christmas lights down off the house after lunch and the Christmas Tree ready for curbside pickup on Monday.

Pretty boring here.Seems settled for the next few days too,Not complaining, best wishes to all of you worldwide, having extreme weather.Take care.

Yes, what Carol said! We are about 30 and cloudy. Chance of snow, notmuch to speak of thouhg. Sorry all you Aussies!!!! I really am praying for you all in the heat!
