-12C Cloudy with a flurry. Yesterday may have been our last real nice winter day so I didn't let it go to waste. I went out for a ski for an hour and a half and felt good. Its been a long time, but dinner went down well and I actually enjoyed eating for a change, for most of the time its a chore. Definitely feeling better now, but this morning I am still having a hard time clearing my nose and throat of glue like mucous. I may as well take advantage of the weather an take another ski this afternoon as the weather is going to warm up and the of the season may end soon.

Still wet here with rain most days. I have been doing my best to resurrect my unit. I had to get a new light weight led ceiling light and have been using a hot air gun to try to dry out the plaster board .The ceiling and wall will not hold any weight as the screws just pull out . When i get it dry i will use liquid nails to laminate some thin ply onto the roof and wall so I can refit the light and towel rack . Only time will tell if it works. Nothing the owners have done has worked , so they can put up with my home repairs or see me in court ,Ron.

0C Sunny and breezy. Warm and messy forecast, expecting some rain overnight followed by more above freezing temps. The snowmobile got sick along the trail and finally quit at the cabin. For some reason it keeps flooding itself. Good thing for cell phones, as I called for help and the neighbor brought me home. At this time of year I need that snowmobile as its the one that has the traction for poor trail conditions that show up at this time of year. The melt is starting early, I have a feeling this will be a long difficult spring. We have a meter of snowpack, and if it all starts melting at once I will not be able to leave the house.

Hi, all, no notifications and my brain is foggy. Weather wise, i need to put a light on. Think my eyes are somewhat affected. The swelling is going down on my head and face and the bruises are fading a bit. Tried to get appt with GP this morning. Ended up telling them they're running at North Korean health care standards. They paid themselves £30k extra during covid years. They beg their patients to fundraise to pay for a new practice building and work 3 days per week for £90K. Think they've got their avaricious minds on materialism not healthcare. I'm def giving the nhs a big break and will look after myself for a little while. I just can't be doing with them anymore. Not got a specialist yet. Only the one scan done so far. Oh well, i might just go away for a couple of weeks, i don't have my cats anymore and i could do with a different area for a bit. Going on a Mystery tour tomorrow hopefully, not keen to drive far yet though, it's a bit weird with the eyes. Lovely day today weather wise. More crocus up and plenty of daffs. -24 is cold Buff. Ron, i love your sense of humour with the bleach and mold. Chris, don't trust putin not to nuke the Ukraine, stay home and stay safe. I am ok, Carol, just very very down and not very hopeful about anything at the moment. Can't get a complaint through to any govt agency to complain. Think they've switched off due to millions of patient treatments being delayed. I suspect 6 million are in pain with severe illness and the gmc, PALS, and all governing bodies of medical agencies have stopped trying to cope. Eveything is simply returned. Oh well, not one on the planet to help. We def have North Korean healthcare.

8c here. Good to see you back Diane. Go have a bit of fun and try to relax. I know it must be terribly hard... And a magical mystery tour sounds like fun... Just keep in touch my friend. Buff, I think you have a stuck float or your carburetor and fuel pump need a good cleaning and rebuid gasket and diaphragm kit. If you aren't good at it, I can point you the right way. I've done it dozens of times. I have diagrams and such that I could share. I also have a big box of carburetor parts/ working snowmobile Tillotson and Mikuni carburetor's that I would share with you. I may not have the right part but I'll do my best to help you find it. Pm me if needed. Cheers to all!

Well, i got to my coach trip and there were two extras not booked on and only one available seat, so not feeling good at all i gave up my seat and came home. Think i might need an ambulance after all. I'm sure they'll want to give me my death sentence and hopefully not keep me in. It's hard when you're ill and on your own. Don't think im going to be driving much longer, my eyes just don't feel they're getting stuff in perspective. Right, don't know if i will be on for a few days as i think i'm not too long. Really would be love to be back chatting, i'll see how things pan out. Don't worry too much for me.

Di, of course we're going to worry. you silly mare. You sound really depressed and no bloody wonder, Why not get an appointment at the opticians ?
They can probably get you seen at the hospital pretty quick should you need it.I'm sorry you missed your day trip as I think you need a break. The weather is going to warm up soon so that's something to look forward to,Sending hugs and positive thoughts your way. Mild here today but a wet afternoon.Time to snuggle down with a book and some cadburys,

+2C Soggy, wet and gray. Got to say that this is the most depressing time of the year, we went through Blue Monday, the first Monday after the spring time change when people are tired and accident rates are higher from the clocks jumping forward. Coincidently it was when the snowmobile died. Chris my neighbor also mentioned the possibility of a stuck float. Snowmobile repairs are a summer time job, so up on the block it will go, so that its ready for the first snow. Di, hang in there we are at the bottom, and as the weather starts to improve and things green up and become warmer it will bring better into the world around us. We had a lot of melting yesterday, but my roof held up and I won't worry about ice dams this year. Its an ugly day outside, so I'll clean the chimney and take a good hot shower afterwards.

Still cloudy with showers. Big hug Di ,I am sorry the planned trip didn.t work out. I know the feeling well, so many things I want to do but then my health goes down and there is just no way I can commit . hang in there. Yesterday was the big real estate inspection. waited and waited but they did not turn up. Not happy. Ron.

0C Gray. I wonder if you could get all the tenants together and put pressure on the owners of the building Ron, somethings not right. Maybe get everyone to withhold their rent. I still have have some weakness from the covid, cleaning the chimney left me with a bad case of vertigo and lightheadedness from repeated crouching and standing up several times. It needed the cleaning from all the slow fires of late with the milder weather.

Decided i didn't want to go to hospital. Got to supermarket and wrecked my neck with awful trolley. I'm sending off for a neck brace as i can't really lay down without head/neck pain, it really wasn't hurting much and i did think maybe i gave myself whiplash. Feeling really bad as i bashed my wing mirror on a gate post. Will get to specsavers and see what they say. Not driving again until i'm tested to make sure. Gosh, aren't are NHS bad, they are unapproachable, they're degrading, humiliating and bloody embarrassing. It's just not my fault i've had this brain cancer for years and been seen by oncologists every month and refused help. it's impossible to complain to any govt agency, can't even email PALS, the hospital/patient liason team. The govt or nhs has blocked everyone from contact. Obviously there are people in serious distress because our NHS danced, pranced and sang instead of caring for patients. They protected themselves. Now there's the 6 million cases, and people are in pain with serious health issues. I think plenty are contacting Human Rights organisations abroad. Strangely difficult through uk links. We know our govt don't agree to human rights. That's been known for a long while. I might just cheekily email north Korea and make them feel better aabout their healthcare standards, they're probably better than ours. Our NHS qualifications seem to hold the same value as an algorithmed GCSE. Oh well, just listen to my whinging! No, don't haha, actually it's a really lovely day today. Quite warm, would have liked to get a load of washing out but not straining my neck until i have a brace on it. It was feeling like a water-bomb balloon for a few days, but now it's only when i bend down or get up. Getting better actually from the fall. still got loads of bruises though. They stay longer as we age. I wonder if NHS Scotland is any more proud than the English version. I should take a few days out in Scotland, give them a visit maybe. I so love the birds singing at dusk and dawn. Hoping to train blackbirds for live mealworms soon. need to sort that garden too. hopefully i'll be ok in a couple more weeks. Falls are bad at our age aren't they Ron?

-2C sunny. Hang in there Di, dealing with the medical system can be frustrating, ours is full of holes too. Many poor diagnosis, my father would have lived longer if they would have diagnosed his cancer earlier rather than telling him it was indigestion. Maybe I would not have had to have a colostomy if they had diagnosed my Chrons instead of saying its just an infection that should go away on its own with time. I am unsure of our government run healthcare system, many seek medical services south of the border at great expense to get better treatments that cannot be found here. Some good news, the hospital called to cancel my April appointment for the day surgery and moved it up to next week. Glad they did, its soar and the wear time for the appliance is short.

12c with cloudless sky and continuos sunshine.,Days are getting lighter by 4mins per day and clocks spring forward one hour next weekend,
Earthquake in Japan and wildfires in Texas......I in 21 people in the UK have Covid !!!! and Hong Kong is running short of coffins, Is there no end to it all ? Di,. Just try to get through each day as best you can me darlin', It's all we can do really. IBD nurse tried to coax me into having a colonoscopy during our phone consultation, but I managed to put her off the idea for another 6mnths,just can't face it for now,I'm going for blood tests so that'll keep her happy for now,

6c and mixed sun and cloud. My folks are both very fatigued, but otherwise okay. I'm too tired to do much myself. Stupid illnesses anyway! Good luck with everything in general to all of you struggling... Obviously most of us are to some degree.

Hang in there Diane, you need to do exactly as you say and let the bruises heal. Hopefully your vision will improve... I must say you can type very well... And, I also very much appreciate your sarcasm and friendship. Hugs, buddy XX

Buff, I'm glad they postponed it too, have a little rest brother and take good care.

My best to every single one of you.

Another nice day,We walked through the park and down to the market today and they were both absolutely rammed,,,,we are both still masked when in crowds we've got enough going on without taking risks,Here's something to cheer you up Di,
HOW TO SPEAK IRISH ,
WHALE
OIL
BEEF'
HOOKED
Say it fast.........sorry ,I just had to share

-2C Sunny. Another do nothing kind of day after the last few. Nothing I can do at this time of year with the kind of weather and poor snowpack, no skiing, no wood cutting as the wood is still encased in ice and snow. I'll go for walks and do some visiting with the neighbors and make phone calls to pass the time. I find the callendar moves very slowly at this time of year, its the long wait now for the real spring to arrive.

0C partly cloudy. Right now we have a good controlled melt, as temperatures are up above freezing with sunshine during the day and below freezing temperatures during the night. Chris, I don't have much energy either, in part there is nothing to motivate me at this time of year. I am going to look at booking airline tickets, they have a good offer where I can change the date of my flight without any surcharges if I book them before the end of the month. Its a good option since I am not ready to commit to a date when to go and prices will be going up with the expected fuel surcharges ahead.

Spent all day getting a new virus protection program. Why is everything to do with computers so time wasting. I saw my computer shop yesterday and they said just drop it in tomorrow ,have some lunch and it will be ready to pick up. I dropped it off at 10.00 am and finally was able to pick it up at 2.45 pm. i was not happy about it. Ron.

15c and really springlike.I don't know what happened to all the snow they were forecasting a few weeks ago , Clocks spring forward on Sunday.
A quick word about technology.....I hate it,I find it quite stressful to be honest.Life was so much simpler before. Also I think credit cards etc were a huge mistake encouraging folk to over spend .I mean why would you get COFFEE on a credit card ? Not me,I was born and reared careful.
I

|Hi all, really poorly here. The supermarket trolley experience makes me believe they've overlooked a crack in my neck. Dialled NHS 111 sunday night. They prioritized an ambulance for me. Couple of young blokes. Well, i've not had a proper trauma to my head and neck in the 7 days prior so didn't take me to hospital. This is bad! Omg, i'm really poorly and getting to the point where i couldn't care less.
Lovely sunny day here. it's going to be nice for a while they say. Proper spring weather. I so appreciate lighter days now. It's lovely. Will have to call someone to recheck my scan. I've also contacted a medical negligence solicitor and hope to hear back. The last one had too many cases and couldn't take it on. Oh, well, spiritual healing please do your bit. Hopefully i'll keep in touch, but i'm not very well. I hope to get stronger.

I never had a credit card, Carol. No HP for me. Save up or buy second hand. Their spending just adds to our landfills. Technology wise. I simply cannot get Chrome to get on my Asus and stay on it. Really frustrating. Hope you're all well.

-2C Snowing. The forecast is calling for a big dump of snow. Its a waste of good snow at this time of year, I wish there was a way to save it up for next November. I long for the good old days, when there was no internet and we had party lines. Four households would share a line, it was a pain, but at the same time it brought the local community close together. I pay everything with a credit card, even a small burger, but I treat it like cash and pay the entire balance off every month. I get cash back at the end of the year to the tune of 3 or 4 hundred dollars, so the card pays me back to use it. I never use debit, and debit does not have the fraud/theft protection that a credit card has. If there is a really big bill I will use the line of credit at a lower interest rate until I can access savings to pay it off. Ron I am not sure what you are using, but I use a windows 10 laptop and the Defender anti virus has very robust protection, it runs automatically. I used to use a stand alone antivirus, but I found that it had holes and it slowed the laptop down.

Buff, we really have spring weather here now. It does feel good without the chill and sunny skies just cheers everyone up. I so need to make an optician appointment but so far they're so booked up, just don't want to risk driving until i'm checked. What's with Englands eyes at the moment? Maybe no one likes going out during winter. Just to make matters worse i am starting a flare up however, dexamethasone tomorrow. Might take some swelling out of the brain and help my eyes.

Again it's lovely out. Tee Hee, I'm laughing at myself. I'm having a new experience. Nipped along to post a letter, walked right past. Walked straight past my gate on the way home, walked past the chemist too today, walked past my gate again. Oh, blimey. At least i can laugh at that! Sleeping better finally, less pain, whoopee. Still got tingly right leg though. At least i know i can pootle along, although not very fast. All's looking good with nature. I'd love to see a hedgehog. Even my houseplants are springing new sprigs and leaves. Well, i'm going to pootle down the shop now as i'm not driving yet. Poor car, will have a flat battery soon. Not taking risks though, it's not me i'm worried about. No one deserves to be knocked by my visions spatial awareness.

Carol, any sign of Putins subs around the shetlands? Seems strange and a 5.1? Whatever next.

-2C Sunny. We received much more than 20 cms, closer to 30C. The clinic called and canceled my appointment which made my life much easier as I can now break down the shoveling into something manageable. Most of the driveway is done, but I still have the walkway to deal with and have to pack it down some before the snowmobile can be used to make a good path without getting stuck. It maybe spring on the callendar, but its still genuine winter here.

Makes me appreciate our weather that is lovely. I must admit the winter woollies are still on and the thermals too.
Carol, brilliant idea. I think i will do that. thanks. Arctic weather??? oh joy. thank god for leccy blanket and weighted blanket. Haven't put heating on for a while. So pleased. Not paying more than £21 pw. What a stingy cow i am. Not suffering fuel costs either yet. Can't get an appt with optician yet. Hope frost doesn't wreck the new leaves. It's starting to get it's bright green Spring tinge on everything. I love spring.

I am feeling better today i must say. My brain and neck are less painful, so is the abdominal pain from ovarian. Unfortunately i have discovered i have lots of little lumps right up the crohns disease scar. Hadn't noticed them before. Gosh i fall asleep half the day and half the night too. |Mind, i need it as i've hardly slept lately. I've got tons of primroses up now replacing the snowdrops and crocus and my rose bushes are getting longer stems with more leaves. Had a word with the council today about being able to put more waste and recyling out due to needing to clear out, i can't drive to the tip and have no one to help, they said no i can't. Guess they're going to clear out for me, lol. The inconvenience of govt run agencies. Oh blimey, they're so awkward. Also, i'm feeling nausea with the dexamethasone. I'm mainly sat in the sun every 20 mins. don't like to miss it. Seems our covid deltacron is rather high at the moment, not that the deaths are very high so far. Putin is wrecking everyones lives and i can't believe his ego. Someone needs to nuke his brain. Stay safe all.

-3C. I had a heck of a morning after getting out of bed with a difficult bowel movement, I thought I was having a heart attack, and took the phone outside with me to the loo just in case. It was like the train was too wide for the tunnel. Exhausted, but relieved now. I spent yesterday afternoon clearing the rest of the snow and packed down the trail with the short track machine. Its going to get colder, and with hope I'll be able to tow the dead snowmobile home from the cabin once the snow pack firms up. Di its the same problem here with gov't run agencies with their watered down services.

Sounds awful, Buff, you take care. You sound like me. Just let me move my bird feeding station back in place for the dusk and dawn chorus after the trees came down. One second i was looking up laughing at the feeders on the station swinging about dropping all manner of bird feed over my head and shoulders, next i was 90 degrees down on the floor with the station. Ooops. We think we are more capable than we are sometimes. I don't think we take in how we change over time. But, hey, it's nice to think we're as young and capable as we once were. I've taken to taking my phone to bed in case i need to dial 999, not that they send any kind of emergency service before 6 hours. I wonder how long to get to you being right out there in the wilderness. Don't stress too much about towing the snowmobile, just ask younger blokes around the area if possible. HOpe the old crohns relents for a while. You sure you don't need that surgery? Hearts are fast to hit. I do know. Keep the breathing as in, two, three, four, out, two, three, four, I do and it apparently tells the mind you are safe and at rest. Quite peaceful and reduces stress.

Lovely and sunny again today. Unfortunately i was awake all night with i think the dexamethasone. Feeling better today though. Still unbalanced and lost in space with the spatial awareness, but going to get the sun in the garden whilst i can. Having another good clear out, but carefully as i collide with stuff. Mind, my place is really untidy as i haven't yet got to grips with housework. Not going to push the pressure in the brain.think the Arctic weather will be on it's way. Hopefully it will be up Carols end of the Brit Isles. Hope it's not icy as i'm pootling along to the shops. Next week the bus in the village will hopefully stop over the road. Roadworks mean i can't get my shopping back up the hill for now. Looking forwards to going out, although i think my day trips will end for a bit as the bus doesn't quite meet up with the day trip meet ups. Not sure i'm capable of being on my feet somewhere different for a few hours yet anyway. I'm taking it easy like Buff. 4.3million had covid last week. Bless em. Not hearing of serious cases yet. That's good news.

Di that dexmethasone is a terrible drug. It is like taking a steroid that's on steroids. You need to see if they can put you on a anti-nausea med that does not contain steroids .I was on one called ahnsemet. It was really good. Covid is really bad here to. People are turning up with two varieties of cd at the same time. I will be due for another booster in earl april as well as a flu shot. Take care mate, Ron.

-12C blustery but sunny. Its cooled down and I'll take it, I'd like to go for a ski and see how things are firming up with the snow pack. Yesterday was the first time in over two years that I could go into the stores without wearing a mask, but I was surprised to see many still wearing masks. I enjoyed my day, and went through the stores taking my time, enjoying seeing others without masks and seeing smiles again. Finally I can breath again, I just hope the numbers don't go up forcing the mask mandate again. I have real doubt over the effectiveness of these paper masks, I see the vaccines as the means to control the spread.

Never ends does it Ron. Poor old Aus. i really feel for everyone having to contend with regular flooding. Here we have a colder but bright day. don't think the buses are running yet. they've done roadworks and i can't get out yet. God, i've hardly been out since i had my fall. Looking forwards to going somewhere, probably be a hospital though. There's a lot more leafage appearing all over the trees and bushes. algae is growing in the pond too, i'll have to rake it out daily soon. I'm still also clearing my clutter but can't really get rid of it. I'll find someone or the charity van to come and collect.

-20C sunshine under cobalt blue skies. Its a beautiful late winter day, either I will be skiing or ice fishing later. I'd rather be at the cabin, but my edurance is just not there. We got the snowmobile out, I managed to get it running, belching huge clouds of blue smoke and sounding sick and hoarse like I did during covid. It started running better halfway down the trail so I am quite certain its a fuel problem like a stuck float. Another summer job coming up, at least one sled runs properly out of the two.

Buff, you call that a winters day? That's a bloody good British summers day to us, lol. Sounds absolutely great. Glad you got the snowmobile up and started, love the humour too. I do like a good laugh. A tad of humour is one of the best daily medicines. Shame you can't get to the cabin though. Perhaps your neighbours will help you with the summer job.

Rain fall of over 200 mm overnight in SE Qld and northern NSW the body of a 40 year old man was recovered from flood waters near Toowoomba. rain still falling and Lismore in danger of flooding again. It is not just the rain, trees are falling and many areas are reporting landslides. ron.

-8C Gray, expecting snow later. Yesterday may have been our last of the nice dry cold winter days. The neighbor had an appointment, so I went for a good long ski, long enough to burn my nose despite the sunblock. The sun is strong at this time of year along with the reflection off of the snow a good tan can burn. Its a nice time of year for skiing as I can go anywhere without sinking into the snow, making skiing quite effortless. Chris, I hope you will get on your iron horse soon. Ron, I hope there is a break in those unrelenting storms, our winters and your summers are total opposites. We had months of gentle winter, but now the active weather season here will soon begin.

Much colder again today, rain, drizzle and a chill wind. I hope it's the last of winter. There is a slim chance of snow over the next few days. Moreso up Carols neck of the woods but might push inwards from the continent to bring some here. I did put heating on today. what a cheat.

Ron, the heavy continual rains can do much damage in the way of landslides. Roots of trees expand with waterlogging, then the hot dry weather shrinks them a bit and the grounds just shift. Down come trees etc creating havoc for travel. Thats still a lot of rain and i remember you talking of Lismore previously. I feel for the people and the wildlife. It's a great shame when life is taken through flood waters. The flow is strong enough to knock people and animals off their feet. Trying to get upright and stable footing is often impossible. Stay safe.
Great you had a good ski Buff. Sounds lovely getting a tan whilst skiing. Enjoy the iron horse, Chris.

Some areas of the Northern rivers catchment received 430mm overnight. All of the northern rivers are in flood again and the river at Lismore has topped the levee and the river is still rising. there has been flash flooding in many of the coastal towns on the northern rivers. There are large areas being evacuated for the second time in a month. Very sad. Ron.

-3C Snowing. 5cms came down so far with another 5 or 10 expected. Don't be shy putting the heating on Di, nothing much more uncomfortable than being in a cold house. I get the feeling that with this snow will come the seasonal change; with that long stretch of moody, changeable weather before we finally start seeing leaves pop out in the next two months.

5c with a mixture of sleet and snow although the sun has managed a quick look-in occasionally.I've just put the heating on for an hour or so but I'm planning a hot water bottle later. We're expecting a 55% + rise on the bills so until I see the worst I'll err on the side of caution for now.Thing is once we pay big bills etc.there's no way of getting it saved up again while on a pension.I don't relish being skint now,we worked long and hard for the nest egg we have,,,,,,,Bloody government !!!!

It's been a mixed bag here with sunshine until mid afternoon... Then onto cloud and gentle rain. The temperature was a low of -2c and a high of 12c. More cleaning today after a meeting at the bankers office. Good news... my credit is improving! I've always paid my bills but my credit history was too old due to being sidelined that it counted for nil. Glad to be on the upswing... Cheers all!

-3C This is just a horrible time of the year given the kind of weather, and how long we will have to wait before it improves. Carol its the same here, our government is intent upon making our lives miserable with their profiteering on their climate change policy. If prices are not high enough, they are going to raise their brutal cruel carbon tax again tomorrow. This government is so focused upon this climate thing that they are ignoring everything, all the issues facing us, and just look at us as walking bank machines and keep pushing our buttons. Its tax time, I have to go and see the tax preparer and find out how much they are going to hit me this year.

Not having a good day. Went shopping yesterday for the second time in a month. Popped into specsavers, they had a cancellation. So got home on the bus, put shopping away, got bus back. Not good news. Left peripheral isn't goodat all. They wrote an letter for me to take to A & E, got the last bus back, didn't have enough money for voluntary driver. So, got on bus this morning, horrendously cold andd snowing, Buffs weather tbh, got to Daventry and i think maybe the shopping yesterday has upset things again with head/neck pressure, got to loo, threw up a bit, was very nausic, got on loo too, realised i wasn't going to get the other two buses to Coventry and i was so poorly i actually dialled 999 in the public loos. Told i'd have to wait a minimum of 6 hours, so called volunteer drivers and they couldn't get anyone to me for 3 hours. Well, i had to wait another half hour to get bus home. Bit better now i'm home, but what crap. Can't even get a bloody ambulance, optician is worried about bleeding behind the eyes. even bending down to pick up handbag at the optician i smacked my bloody head on opticians desk, oh blimey. What is a human supposed to do? I'm so knackered, i'm planning on having a restful night and trying a different volunteer driver tomorrow.
Sun on the bus homeward was really quite warm, but snowing mot the day. Some had settled overnight. I have got the heating on a bit today but will go to bed early. Not taking the dexamethsaone anymore, no nights rest since starting.

Simply can't believe the levels of rainfall. Terrible news. YOu're going to look like Vancouver did a few months back.

Ron, i'm so sorry for the residents with extreme flooding, never ends does it?

sorry about the messed up typing etc, i'm making so many mistakes now, really struggling with reading and writing at the moment. At least you know i'm still alive lol.

Sunny and 10c with an expected high of 14c. The post office is super slow so I'll keep tidying things up around here for now. I'm sorry to hear about all the struggles you're dealing with, Diane. I wish I could give you a lift myself... Although I might be dangerous driving in the left lane... Never really tried it. Have a good rest. Feel free to shoot me a message any time you like. I know all the words... No worries there. XX

The ow off NSW is acting like a cyclone with winds over 100 kph and swell over 5 meters. The flood peaks in a lot of the northern rivers are moving slowly and are still to reach the coastal towns. When they do they are running into tidal surge from the high swells. WA is suffering coastal flooding as the latest Indian ocean cyclone comes ashore. The forecasters believe that we have not seen the last of the wet weather with at least two more cyclones possible for QLD in April. I am off to the doctor this afternoon for my second covid booster. I am expecting my flu shot later this month. Ron.

It's been the coldest start to April for 15yrs.Showers of snow and sleet again and the odd blast of sunshine,,,,I think I might be to blame 'cos I bought
some sun block the other day.....what a crappy time you're having Diane,I hope you get sorted really soon. The cost of living here has soared today,And I mean everything. They say it's the worst for 50yrs..........There was over 4,000,000 people with covid in the UK last week and 1028 deaths yesterday !!!
Not a lot to be cheerful about.

0C sunshine. Good to see the sun again after the gray days. Yesterday was long, I dragged through the day feeling lightheaded and dizzy but managed to park in the driveway without cracking the egg so to speak. the cost of groceries keeps rising, and today our prime minister is smiling as his carbon tax rose again. I don't understand how these people get voted in, or what the hype is about climate change when we have many issues far more dire facing us. So much misery everywhere now. Everywhere I go I see people begging holding signs out as they panhandle on street corners and at the entrances of the stores. The numbers of homeless people continue to surge. I am glad for retirement, its a difficult world today. I dropped my paperwork off at the tax preparers, and will find out later how big a check I have to hand over to this government we have that resembles more of a dictatorship by the day. Hang in there Di, I hope you can catch a break.

2C Mainly cloudy. Sitting rather high and dry, perhaps soggy is a better description, a good day to do small chores around the house. Chris there should be no stopping you for going for a ride, your weather sounds good for a day of it on the roads. Glad to hear things are looking up and you can get out in the yard Ron with better health.

It's rainy and 10c here. I slipped with a knife and stabbed my palm between the thumb and index finger pretty bad last Sunday. I had to go easy on it for the last six days. Tomorrow makes seven and I should be able to use it to carefully grip my handlebars after that. Good thing the knife was sharp as a scalpel and clean. I like to keep all my knives sharp enough to skin a buck... The wound is fully closed and no infection. (touch wood) Cheers all!

Yay, i'm still here. Stayed in hospital a little. Good news. I've got a whole new MDT bunch. Omg, everyone in Coventry hospital is absolutely respectful. So, in the next two weeks i'm going to meet the neuro surgeon, gyn/onc and the new macmillan team. my eyes are not good, gotta oops, have to sell the car! wasn't going to drive like this nyhow. only did about 2k miles per year anyhow. Hopefully i'll be given a bus pass, prob need the bloody white stick as i collided with leg injury person in A and E. Felt awful about it. nurse tried to make me laugh, it was already injured and they were in the right place, lol. Carol i think everyon with covid has been sent to Coventry, the bloke in a and e next too me was brought the thicker mask and told to put it on. my hspital companions coughed all day and night, one had a total panic attack the whole time, apart from when meals were dished out. Strange! i wished she had just kept stuffing her mouth. There was a scottish lady who nobody could understand but was shouting for attention the whole time and i suspect i will get covid. Back on higher strength dexamethasone again. Haven't slept in around two weeks, but it's nice to be home.i'm going to start stCan't believe the deaths aare up again. i've only had the one jab still. udying on how to be blind, lol. i'll join an online support group to find out how others cope. At least i won't have car costs at all. Maybe i'll move to coventry. there's no snow today and i'm home to feed the birds. Feeling better about things although sudden depression hit whilst in hospital. i don't like that i can't switch other people off or tell them to speak intelligently. Obviously i'm a difficult patient. i coped and i'm home, brilliant. ok, i'm going to try and tidy up a bit cos i'm going to get a home help soon. i definitely can't do anything strenuous as it puts the pressure up in my brain and causes pain. i will catch up fully tomorrow i hope. hope. stay safe all.

Thank goodness you're getting the attention you need Di, AT LAST!!! Just get through one day at a time and all will be well. We got rid of our car a few months ago and haven't really missed it to be honest. The traffic and idiot drivers was making Les edgy. There's no where we need to go nowadays....been there.read the book.got the t-shirt.We can walk, bus cycle or taxi quite easily. It's been another nice day but being where we are,the traffic is mad,It's nose to tail moving or parked.Buff I think your government and ours must be in the same gang...bleeding twits.

0C Cloudy. Glad you are getting the help you need Di, it should help make life more reassuring. One thing I know about knives from a lifetime of making and using them is that they always gravitate and go for the hand and they can be quite selective about fingers Chris. Sounds like it was a nasty cut. Carol, I read about your political struggles, they are similar to what we are going through. Governments have no sympathy towards us seniors and the vulnerable who have to choose between eating or have heating but not both in cold climates.

The east coast flooding has moved down to the Gippsland area of Victoria. Heavy swells up to 7 meters have been smashing Sydney beaches. The iconic Bondi beach has been virtually washed away by the heavy seas. We have more rain coming next wee with a large cyclone out in the coral sea. It is not certain which way it will track. Ron.

& meter swells Ron? i couldn't fancy that sort of powerful waters around me, not surprised but saddened to hear the rather famous Bondi beach has been devestated, have to hope the wildlife is coping. Let's hope the new cyclone goes outwards from Aus. Buff, i have watched off grid men on tv who make their own knives. Quite impressive. I enjoyed metal work in school, but we didn't make knives, lol. Chris, i hope the hand is mending.
Weather today was rain all night, quite cold too. fell asleep for half the day and feel confused about all i was supposed to get done today and it will have to wait until tomorrow. I've got an mri brain scan tomorrow too. No real covid signs since bein in hospital. So far so good.

Read today of a father and son being killed by a mud slide in Eastern Australia, There seems to be no end to bad news these days. It's so sad,,,,,out for a family walk and that happens.Hope the scan goes well Di,. at least somethings being done.Never mind falling asleep and not getting the jobs done, they'll still be there tomorrow. Not a bad day here 8c and cloudy. But watch this space for the whinges about the UK summer heat hahaha

0C and now they are warning us of another big dump of snow. I don't do much in the knife shop anymore, like everything with age has slowed down. But its nice to know those knives I made over my lifetime will keep going long after I am gone. I never made much money on them, but it has been the satisfaction of leaving my mark on the world that will continue to live on. Glad to hear you are on the mend Chris

Yes Carol the family had not long been in Australia when they did a trip out to Wentworth falls in the blue mountains. They were on the walking track out to the falls when a water damage part of the cliff collapsed on them. The man and his young son were killed and his wife and an older son are in hospital in a serious condition. Another young female member of the family was badly traumatized but was able to walk out with the aid of police. Very sad. Ron.

-1C heavy wet snow coming down. 15cms so far, power went out after breakfast and while I was setting up the generator all I could hear were trees cracking, breaking and coming down in the bush and all around me. Very scary, a big one came down and narrowly missed the house. The outages are wide spread and the roads are closed or in very poor condition, so it will be awhile. Generator gets a good run. I have a feeling there will be a big clean up of fallen trees once this storm is done.

Cold again here. The wind factor doesn't help. A severe frost occured and ruined the magnolia trees enirely. Not a pretty site at all. HOpefully we will warm up soon. Have had to put the heating on for a couple of days now. Sad about the family

Most of the built up areas on the east of the country have exceeded their average yearly total rainfall in the first three months of this year. The area from the central NSW coast down to Bega on the south coast are in the firing line at the moment with 24 hr totals from 100-250mm with flash and riverine flooding. There are very few dams on the east coast that are not full or overflowing resulting in little or no flood mitigation. Ron.

Wet tomorrow (how unusual) and wet for all of easter. So sick of the rain the humidity and the mold. I had a birthday yesterday. Sick of them as well. What did I do for my birthday. I had a unit inspection. Useless pack of fools. Ron. PS Carol the easter egg hunt is simple here, just wait for them to float by in the flood, and rescue the ones that have children attached.
