Dreary again. We've had 7 days of murky weather.Luckily our air purity is good up here, but v.bad further south, especially in the cities.People with heart and chest problems are suffering.Supposed to clear tomorrow.

We got about 10 inches of snow overnight. Now it is 31F, but sunny, so the snow is already starting to melt a little!

Today was another day in the mid 40's and mostly sunny. Two days of heavy rain predicted...at least it wont be snow...hopefully.

Still around 30c. Cyclone Ita has been named out in the coral sea . It caused severe flooding in the Solomon Islands and has changed up to cat3 and is slowly moving west towards the Qld coast. The met bureau is not sure if it will reach us but they are keeping a close eye on it. The last time we had a cyclone in april it was pretty bad ,it crossed the coast at Brisbane. It very nearly got me . I was driving down to Brisbane from the Sunshine coast. There is a long low bridge across Hayes inlet at redcliff. I was in my old nissan patrol 4wd and I was half way across when a wave broke across the bridge. It pushed me ten foot sideways and stalled the motor. I was not game to get out of the car as I had my mother on board. I eventually got the car going on a few cylinders and limped across to land. Things like that usually only happen when I have a boat under me. Ron.

Around 27-30c. Cyclone Ita slowly creeping across the coral sea. Current heading has it making landfall around Cooktown , if it makes it. It had intensified to a cat 3 then back to a 2 ,now they think it will re-intensify to a 3 by the time and if it crosses the qld coast. It's way north of where I live so I am well out of harms way at this point in time. Ron.

42F and a slow steady rain.It has been raining since early last evening.Rivers and streams are close to cresting and flooding.

Rain, glorious rain! It has been so dry here that we really need the rain to continue for a few days,

It's cold ,got down to 27c yesterday. 31c forecast for Saturday. Cyclone Ita is moving slowly but steadily west. It is cat3 but is predicted to be cat 4 when it reaches the coast around cape Melville on Friday or Saturday. Ron.

No ,warming up here ,31 for Friday and Sat. Cyclone Ita is turning into a bit of a beast. Forecasters predict it will cross the coast Friday night. They are worried it could get as high as cat 5 before it does so . Winds are already over 200 kph and may reach as high as 260kph. They are hoping that it hits a reasonably unpopulated area and that it may not intensify as much as the models predict. Ron.

Glad I am in south queensland and not north. Cyclone Ita has developed into arguably the severest cyclone to threaten queensland since records started. It has intensified to category five . that is the highest rating. Winds near the centre are already 280 kph and could increase. I just hope the folk up north get thru it ok. The storm is expected to cross the coast around lunch time tomorrow. Residents have been warned to be where they want to be by 11.00 am and not to go out after that time. Interesting times. Ron.

31F and blue skies B,r,r,r,r...mid 40's predicted. We have lost a lot of snow  upper 50's by Saturday!!! Weather getting nicer and no bugs out..yet

Still high 20 c low 30 c. Winds at Ita's centre have reached 300 kph. They may have to increase the scale max to cat 6. Two years ago when yasi hit I did not think that we would ever see a storm of its strength for another hundred years. Looks like we may have to get used to a new normal. Ron.

28 degrees Heavy rain and the chance of a thunderstorm. Destructive wind gusts exceeding 130 km/h possible depending on movement and development of Severe Tropical Cyclone Ita.

I've stocked up on chocolate and Nutella so I'm ready... ;-)

Ditto from me daisy. It may have backed from cat5 to 4 but it is still packing 250 kph + winds . Keep it safe Ron.

Sunny spell is being very much enjoyed by me. Spent yesterday afternoon in a friends garden. Was like being in the Mediterranean. beautiful today and appreciating my flowers coming into bloom. Stay safe you Aussies, hope Ita isn't too destructive. Hope the north americans get something of a spring soon.

56F and cloudy with a bit of wind that will help dry things out. Tulips are sprouting in my garden so spring has to be on it's way at last. Last week we had a blizzard so I'm by all means not complaining.

Shanen, I don't know where you live in Minnesota, but the channel 4 weather guy said we could get another big snowfall next week in the twin cities.

I am about 3 hours or so northwest of the cities. I had heard that ugly rumor but I was hoping the weatherman was wrong, but that's usually only regarding nice weather forecasts.

Got caught in cloudburst today. Rained so hard the motorway looked like a demolition derby. People all ok but a lot of panel beating needed. I don't know why people refuse to slow down when it is like that. Cyclone Ita hit an unpopulated area of rock and rainforest. Ripped quite a few roofs off in cooktown. It is still cat one which is unusual . they normally turn into lows over land and become a rain depression. The north is seriously flooded and last I saw Ita was heading south east thru port Douglas and Cairns , then heading out to sea again. Strange creatures cyclones. Ron.

The calm after the storm phew... what a weekend.

Yesterday was the day that Tropical Cyclone Ita made its presence felt here in Cairns wind speeds exceeding 120kms p/hr and heaps of rain.

Today was just gorgeous can't believe a cyclone had passed through.

Did you have any damage, Daisy?

Gorgeous day.Unbroken blue sky and although coolish a wee bit of heat in the sun.Have been for a run out in the countryside and the trees and hedgerows are bursting forth, the birds are singing and the lambs are gambolling in the fields.Oh,it's GOOD to be in England, now that Spring is here.(apart from the present Government that is !!!)

Superb weather , clear skies , no wind and temps in the 27-30c range and around 14 c overnight . I like it. Ron.

Cold and pouring rain. If it were 5 degrees colder, we'd have over a foot of snow right now! And it is going to stay this way for the foreseeable future.

Still high 20's c , a few showers but mostly at night, just gone back to work after ten days off. Barely left the house, change of season ,add asthma to all of the other problems. Siiigghhh Ron.

mid 40's and still damp. The grass is greening and daffodils are coming up.I have been using the wood stove the last couple days to take the chill off.

Daffs here are finished.Council still cutting the grass around them but I think the next cut will obliterate them. Cherry blossom is in full bloom and the bluebells are in evidence but not "splendiferous" yet. I love Springtime.:)

Our daffodills haven't come up yet. They are just tiny shoots. We still don't have leaves on the trees, either.

We've got leaves too,at different stages, and there are crops in the fields and lambs of different sizes. The weather has been good for lambs this year.Sometimes they have to wear little plastic raincoats when it's cold and wet.:(

I'd love to see a picture of a lamb wearing a raincoat. Is it almost like Shawn the Sheep?

Cuter, but a wee bit sad and worrying.

The coats are usually orange or white.

I haven't got a pic.but you could prob.google one.

I've just googled British lambs in plastic coats and there are lots of pics.Don't know how to upload them to you though. Techno Phobe:ybatty:

Ugh! Now we have sago snow!
cold.gif

There's this big, yellow shiny thing in the sky. It seems vaguely familiar, but I don't know why!:ylol2:

Sunny but windy. Only got to 22c today and down to 6c overnight, my kind of weather at last... Ron.

Another sunny, warm day. It looks like the trees are getting ready to sprout leaves and the tulip leaves are starting to push out of the ground! It looks like Spring is finally here:dance:

Nice here,got the washing dried,yipeeeee !!

Forcast SAYS 82f on the way for a week or two but that's probably in the South. It looks promising though. No complaints.(famous last words hahaha)
