I got the sun shining brightly into my lounge. Omg, my windows are filthy!
Chillier today, and one very strong gust of wind in Daventry whilst out. Nothing since then. How's it going Carol? If Abigail hits you, you hit her right back.
Amen about Paris.Big storm this evening. Some rain ,a lot of lightning but no hail. On the other side of the country Aust and New Zealand are playing a cricket test at the WACA ground in perth. The temp at midday under the cover of the grandstand was 39.4c. The say that the temp close to the playing pitch was close to 46c. The bowlers were wrapping ice towels around their necks between overs. Not looking forward to it drifting our way in a few days. Ron.
Paris is very, very sad!
What the weather and the critters do to us is nature. What happened in Paris is just pure evil terror. I am not into violence or hurting any one. We are subject to illness and disease. We try very hard with medicine to alleviate our suffering. I wish there was a cure for terrorism one that could eradicate the disease. We eradicated smallpox from the world and we appear to be winning against ebola. Perhaps it is time we took the gloves off and eradicated terrorism. Nearly all of the world leaders have said that will stand by France. Do it. Ron.
Highly agreeHere here Ron. With u all the way on this post. Keep safe n well pal
63F [emoji39] great day to open up the windows and watch college football.[emoji458]
The heat in Western Australia has an aftermath. Bushfires down near Esperance in the South. Four people killed in their cars try to outrun a fire. Tragic, some of the victims my be foreign backpackers , I hope not. If it is correct it is not a phone call I would like to make to someones parents. More out of control bushfires south of Adelaide in South Australia. The whole country needs some rain. I think there is another that has been burning for weeks in an inaccessible part of Tasmania. That's Australia ,cometh the summer ,cometh the heat ,cometh the flames. The east coast will be on alert for the weekend. Very warm where I am today. Ron.
Sounds really bad, Ron. Stay safe.
Sunny at the moment. The hoggies are fine. Two are now over 700g so could poss hibernate in my shed. The other two need to scoff a bit more grub to get there. They're both over 600g though. So successful so far.
wind died down and all is calm but I think the cold is going to come in now.
Two massive fires at Esperance carol. Apparently quite a few farms have gone. One of the deaths was a Young married farmer driving around trying to warn others to get out. The reports of the other three so far are three German backpackers. Some very lucky escapes with families driving thru flames to escape. Apparently some of the cars caught fire and the occupants only just made it thru before they had to abandon their burning vehicles. No reports on the damage yet from south Aust but there are out of control fires there as well. Quite a few towns in outback Qld hit 40c today and it looks like Sunday may be slight relief from the heat then up again for the next week. Sadly few of the towns out west have anything left to burn, the drought has been so bad. The fires in WA were all started by wild storms and lightning strikes. It is warm tonight but no sign of storms here. PS I don't think your son will be going anywhere near Esperance at the moment Carol. Hugs Ron.
Terrible to have to lose your life to fires. tbh, it doesn't shock me that foreigners are a tad naïve of such situations.
Hahaha, no I'm not unpacked yet, Carol. I've not found the moving easy, I shall get it done at some point. Bit more painting and then I can get all my books on my shelves. Then I shall be happy.
Dull now with rain coming. Colder too.
All my favourite books are still in boxes. Those I've already parted with quite a lot, can't think for the life of me why I brought it, lol.
I am sorry. Hope things get better. The WA fires are just being brought under control. There appears to be a lot of damage and at least four dead. One was a local farmer out trying to warn people and direct them to safety. The other three fatalities were European backpackers . They were trying to save some horses and they appear to have rolled the 4x4 and horse float dodging the fire. There are bad fires in south Australia and Sydney is expecting temps of 40c tomorrow. That always spells trouble for the western suburbs and the blue Mountains just west of Sydney. They will be holding their breath till it cools off a little tho we are not expecting cooler conditions till at least next week.We will reach the mid thirty c's where I live but by afternoon every day we pretty much get a sea breeze to cool things a little. Ron.
