What is YOUR weather like today??

Crohn's Disease Forum

Help Support Crohn's Disease Forum:

We had the first of our Autumn southerly fronts come thru. They predicted wild storms ,wind and rain and cooler temps. None of the above occurred, two rumbles of thunder ,twenty spots of rain then the sun came out and it got hot and steamy. Ultrasound of my heart and lungs in the morning. Be glad to get it done with. Ron.

Let's know how your tests go Ron,hope it's good news.
Diane,is Dave still lodging with you ? A rescuer on lunch time news (28 this winter?) has started releasing some into private gardens.I didn't catch her location but I doubt it was up here.
Just like winter, cold 7c., grey and very wet,Looks like it's the same for the rest of the week too.

I agree, Ron should retire and relax off. Life's too stressful and wreaks havoc on unwell bodies.

With due respect, I do not agree with this. Human beings work not just to earn their bread, but to express themselves, their creativity. Our work defines ourselves. Under the circumstances, if a person is able to work, albeit with difficulty, he should carry on.

Lucky is the man who dies while working; not literally, but while active.

Even if this viewpoint becomes unpopular, I had to say this as this is what I feel. Of course, I am not in any way trying to influence Mr Ron's decision, and this is merely my general view.

Carol, I have a hog in my garden each night at 9-9.15pm stuffing her gob. So little Dave is going to trot off in the next week I think. I shall stuff his cage into the garden for a couple of nights so he can see his territory (though it takes 10-12 gardens for one to forage (piggies)) then release him with a blob of white paint on and hope he comes back each night for his squirmy worms (live mealworms). If I don't see him again I shall be sad but hopeful. The other one in the garden allows me to stroke her with no spines up so I think it's one I released just before Xmas.

Ron, we had a couple of rumbles of thunder too. 20 splashes of rain, then sun. Not too hot though.

SMT, I do understand your viewpoint and it's not offensive at all, its just us ladies worrying about Ron, lol.

I will just add that creative expression can be done by things other than gainful employment (otherwise I'm in big trouble!) and not all who are gainfully employed are enjoying their work. My two cents' worth. Ron, you are the one who knows why you are working, and how much your body can take vs. what what you get out of it (including financial gain). We all just hope you can enjoy life thru all your difficulties.

It's a typical spring day here, in the sixties and sunny. We are expecting a few showers and slightly cooler weather the next few days. (Also typical.)

Can't complain about the weather.

Oh, forgot to say, my tulips are finally opening! (Most have already opened around here, but mine are in gardens facing north, the least sunny side of the house.)

It was another warm steamy day. Rain predicted but none came. More of the same for the weekend. Still on my 1 litre and double diuretics. Had my ultrasound. Like all technicians they tell you nothing. At one stage he asked me if I was aware of how erratic my heart is. I told him I knew about 10.000+ ectopics. he just said double that. He turned the volume up. He joked that I sound like a V8 running on two cylinders. I believe he mentioned some signs of atrial fibrillation. I hope I misheard him. I get my results on the 27th. Ron.

Cool, grey and damp, feels like November.Luckily we don't have the winter to look forward to.Surely things can only get better.I'm fed up of wearing winter clothes.

Oh for the chance Carol. (wearing winter clothes that is) Shorts and a t shirt has become my all year uniform tho we are expecting 25-6c for a few days. We don't get it tho , it always sneaks up to 30c regardless of predictions. It has been cool and wet in southern Wa but scorching in the north (high 30's today). Ron.

Partly cloudy but expecting 30c again today. It was supposed to be cooler on the weekend but it finished up in the 30c's both days. I am struggling with the 1 litre a day fluid restriction and double diuretics in this heat. Only up side is my b/p was 118/83 this morning. I will continue on it for the rest of the week then cut out the second diuretic and keep my fluid input under 1.5 litres. I haven't drunk alcohol for the best part of twenty years. Sometimes I just feel like going to a pub and getting blind rotten drunk, but I don't think my doc would approve. Ron.

I feel the same way. I would love a gin and tonic right now ! I have not been able to drink alcohol for a while now, due to my UC and my Acid Reflux.

I have not been on this site for a while, so I will have to learn again who everyone is. It is 6:40 pm where I live and it is 83 degrees. Too hot. But then it will be 115 degrees this summer and I will be complaining even more. :-(

Was absolutely beautiful yesterday. My neighbours and I have hundreds of ladybirds in our gardens. They were all making babies! Was very funny to watch and quite what passers by thought of our humorous comments I do not know, lol.

Grey and expecting rain, possibly thunder.

We have had a couple of unusually rainy and cold days. I think we are expecting one more unsettled day then back to spring.

It touched 40 C/23 C today/tonight and I am really struggling. Got to crunch data tonight and in the weekend. I just hope that it rains, but I know that it would not. :(

The same here Sandy. 76 degrees at 5:20pm right now, pretty nice. But it is predicted to be 93 degrees on Tuesday of next week.

Scottsma : I would love to see those swallows. :)

Smt you can have some of our rain... im sick of it 😕
Rainy afternoon but not cold
💕

Thanks, fuzzy butterfly, for the offer. Alas, if only it was possible!

You and I both know that is not possible. May we all accept our circumstances, as we are all doing, and rise up above that to perform at the best possible level given the constraints that fate has handed us, climate being just one example.

The very best wishes.

Horrible day,not fit for man nor beast.

4c,cold wind, heavy snow showers and sleet, but not lying thankfully.
The sun peeps out once in a while, but by the time we discuss if it's worth getting the bikes out,it's gone in again. I bet those swallows wish they'd stayed in Africa.

You would think someone would warn them to stay in Africa Carol. Same thing at the beach. No one ever warns the tourists that the sand between the carpark and the water is 1000 C and is going to cook their feet up to their knees. Temps rising towards the end of the week. Back to 30c again . I really do hope that the three days of 27c was not winter and now it's over. Ron.

Although we didn't spend a lot of time at the beach,I know what you mean about the HOT sand Ron.I've never been one to lie in the sun, even here in the UK.Beaches are for walking the dog every day of the year, including Xmas.
What I do remember well,is getting out of an air-conned car,and feeling as though I'd just open the pre-heated oven,to put the Yorkshire puds in......wow !!!

Sunday 17 April 14:43

Cloudy. Cool-ish 20.3C ( 68.54F) real feel: 16C (60.8F)

Need some rain for the 70 bulbs I planted last week!

G'day Ann it is supposed to be winter here . I am sitting at the puter at 9.15 pm and it is still just under 25c (about 76f) It got up to 28c today and they say it will be up to 30c again by Friday. On the news tonight they said there was a big storm and cold front sweeping across the central US states. Stay safe and warm . I could do with a cold front sweeping over us. Trouble is that even in winter the day time temps never drop below 15c.Hugs to all Ron.

Sunny with a little breeze. Washing going on the line i think.. 1st on the line wash of the year for me.. ☺
Love to all. 💕💕

Ditto here D.,......I've got a nice little pile of summer tops (collected over the winter)
languishing in the wardrobe.I had a rifle through earlier, and had forgotten some of them.
But as you say,a chilly weekend is on the cards,so I'll keep me vests on under me jumpers 'til it's safe.

Really lovely day warm in the sun..my is spring finally here !! Well it is till the weekend anyhow. Make hay while the sun shines 🌞

Temps have finally dropped to the mid twenties18c to 26c forecast for today with a sunny day. Funny how a change of seasons always results in a drop in my health. Battling peripheral and pulmonary oedema , probable congestive heart failure,1 litre a day fluid restriction & double diuretics, down to one dose of oxy in the morning withdrawel at night making sleep impossible . No oxy = no constipation - return of bile salt malabsorption - back on questran lite=not happy.Ron.

Lovely day, lots of sunshine but cooler near the coast.
I had to tie my jacket 'round my waist, while on a bike ride.First time this year I've been outdoors without a coat.
Also I will have to remember to put sunblock in my bag, as I could feel the heat on the back of my neck.

I have lived in Arizona for 40 years, but I grew up in Southern Minnesota for the first 12 years of my life. I loved experiencing the four seasons, always something fun to do outside when I was a kid. Snowy, rainy, sunny.....always outside. I miss the birds and squirrels and flowers there. :) :)

One state up (Utah) and it is only 70°, probably our high for the day. I too like the four seasons.

Ron, isn't there a way to drain that fluid faster? I know here in the states they sometimes insert a needle into fluid filled sacs around the heart. I know it sounds awful, but then there is immediate relief at least for the time being.

I see my neph next week Sandy and I have no doubt he has been busy plotting my doom. I took my last Targin(oxycodone/naloxone tablet) around 35 hours ago at the end of a 34 week taper from the 80 mg I was on daily for over two years. there has to be a better way I feel like my brain has rejected my entire body. I had to come home from work and go to bed It felt like the neuropathy in my legs was connected to the power supply, I really thought I would be feeling better as the temps dropped .It has been a cloudy 27c todaydropping to 24c over the weekend. Ron.

Must say, Ron, I do love your humour throughout your issues. I love a good laugh too, especially when my own health is down. Stay positive and I hope issues resolve themselves soon one way or another.

Hazy sunshine today and getting colder over the weekend.
Happy Birthday QEII, I won't reach 90 i'm sure, and you'll be lucky to Ron. Somehow I bet your health drags on until you reach 89. I'll be sorry if mine does. We just need to await that cure all pill, lol.

You have just given me nightmares Di on even suggesting that I would get anywhere near 89. I am however thinking of writing a book on how many parts of the human body are totally appendix like and not needed to maintain life. Using myself a an example at least half of my bits no longer function or are at best very dodgy and yet I am still upright and moving after a fashion. Might give the genetics bods some input on designing a newer streamlined human. Ron.

Another nice day,so nothing to whinge about from me.I'm happy I woke up this morning
and I hope to be happy tomorrow morning too......Hugs to you all.

It is a nice day here too, weather-wise. 54 for the low, 75 for the high. I should do some gardening, but having a hard time motivating myself. Feeling down about health issues for the entire house (including a dog recently diagnosed with colitis:confused2:), and need to develop a better sense of humor about it and stronger disposition over all.

We all have those days Sandy, and as bad as they are ,deep down we know it will get better.Let today take care of itself, tomorrow is another and better day.

The sun has just come up ,the birds are singing and unity water are digging up the street again. Life happens despite everything. Sorry you are down Sandy I hope your dog is ok and not in too much pain ,Hugs Ron.

8c sunshine and clouds.Cooler than yesterday. The trees are getting greener each day,and the birds are singing their hearts out.....love it !!!

Temps went up to 30c again today, getting toward the end of April and still no cold weather . Goodness knows what next summer will be like. I hate to think. Ron.

aw heck Ron,that's not good.At least over here we can be sure to get colder and very cold weather, after the summer's over.Hope it cools down soon, for you.

The sun has just come up ,the birds are singing and unity water are digging up the street again. Life happens despite everything. ...

Sometimes we joke that we have two seasons (though definitely four), winter and street maintenance, also known sarcastically as cone flower season because street and utility maintenance cones (to block/reroute traffic) pop up everywhere. :rof:

I know Sandy. We got a note in the letter box to tell us the water would be cut off on a certain day. Since then we have had around seven more notes saying the same . Digging up sixty year old plumbing is like a surgeon operating, you never know what you are going to find. Another warm day , we will probably get to 29c. Ron.

was sunny today but clouded out now. Not too cold. Looking forward to some hot weather here, Ron. Would it help to take a job with the water board? Probably the only way to keep cool in your area. Hoping you get snow for your winter, too.

27 c today and blowing a gale but the forecast for next weekend is 30c again, hard to believe..Ron.

Sunny but cold , light wind ,from the North Pole. We had a walk to the weekend craft market, and although it's under cover at the Victorian railway station, everyone was dressed warmly,as though it was a Christmas Market.

Hi its me back from oblivion..gawd the notifications are very arwy for me recentley.
Had a few nice warm days last week but cooler for the last couple of days.
Sorry some of you are having a rough time lately and hope things improve very quickly. Love n hugs 💕💕

my notifications are still sporadic too.
Have you got snow yet Mandy?
drab weather here, shouldn't complain though. Sorry you're having a tough time with that weather, Ron.

Hi Di not had any snow lately, tho had some in march i think ??
Ah so not just me then dont know whats happening with the notifications. Hope you are keeping well hun x

We've been having "disorganized" storms the past few days (though Sunday was sunny :)), a couple more days to go. We had quite the lightening and thunder show today. I love a good spring storm.

I could do with a good winter storm Sandy but it does not look like winter is going to happen. Ron.

Cold northerly, gusty, wind.Feels like 2c or less.
We've had heavy snow showers, sleet, rain and sunshine today, and looks like it's going to be the same for the rest of the week.

We had a rainy night but still nothing cold , minimum overnight was 19c and 26-28 during the day. Carol your son had some relief yesterday the maximum in S?W western Aust only reached 18 c tho in the north around Broome they had 34c and Darwin was still 36c.Ron.

WA is cold , SA is on fire watch with very hot temps and we are heading for temps getting toward 30c on the weekend. Crazy. Ron.

Still wintry here.Temps dropping as I post. 0c by tonight.
Glad I held back putting the bedding in.
Is Dave still at home Di ?

Dave is still at home with me, lol. There is a hedgehog in the garden each night, but I don't want Dave catching pneumonia yet. It would be unfair.

My house and green house is full of bedding plants awaiting warmer than -2C at night. Would be a shame to have them killed off having spent on them. Tis a nightmare. I just want a real spring and summer, but not the extremes that some on here have to suffer.
still sunny and slightly warmer before the cold night ahead.

Was a very hot day today. Crunched data from the morning and got only a few hours sleep in the night. A lot of work to do tomorrow as an article is in the process of being written. My head is aching, probably due to the heat. Hoping everything goes off well.

Wishing the best to all of you.

Rain and warm , heart ultrasound came back. Neph has discounted congestive heart failure. He sent me for an ecg to prove no atrial fib. No atrial fib found but numerous ectopics and scar tissue on the bottom of my heart from a possible heart attack. neph did not believe it .I told him my liver was too big for its allotted space. He checked my liver functions . A month ago several rose into the red and the latest test they doubled . I have an ultrasound next week. He is looking for either auto-immune hepatitis or most likely what every colon cancer survivor fears liver cancer. Ron.

We'll all be rooting for a good result, Ron. Fingers crossed.

cold wind today, thunder and lightening with hail briefly (whilst I was out, of course).

Ron i so hope that is not the case.. wishing the very best result for you my friend. 💕😚
Woke to some snow this morning..raining now.
Hope there is no snow monday as iv got to do a 100mile round trip of removals for my son, he is moving to his new house (finally getting rid 😉). He is not moving that far but we are getting some things from his ladys late fathers house ,which is near Blackpool...not drove a van in years!!! I could do without snow if you dont mind mr weather thank you..☺

Cold.but not as bad as the forecast threatened.YET !!!

Ron,best wishes weather whinger.Hopefully these tests will make things clear.
At the very least you will know what NOT to worry about.Given your history,I would say your a tough old cobber,so don't let the b*ggers get you down now.

We are finally pretty much done with our blustery weather of the last week (we had a little flooding in our basement again after a couple of large downpours.) It will be partly cloudy with a small chance of rain for the rest of the week, the highs around 70°. Perfect in my standards. David, you can keep your heat and we will continue to buy Florida (pulp free) orange juice.

Ron, you worry me. :hang: :getwell:

Does anyone know a contractor who will re-seal a foundation for free?

A good start to yet another Bank holiday weekend, but it's gonna turn wet and windy
later in the day.People who didn't get away at Easter, because of bad weather, will
be out in their droves.Everyones desperate for fine weather, and will be trying to make the best of it..............except for us,unsociable as ever.
