What is YOUR weather like today??

Still sunny 28c today , no sign of rain . It has been around six weeks since we have had any rain. Local brigades had to put out two grass fires yesterday, not a good sign. It only got down to 18c overnight. Got up thru the night and took the blanket off. Almost winter and still in shorts ant T shirt. Ron.

Hot day warm night. Today was supposed to be around 25-12c it was 29 to 18c. it is supposed to be 9c in the morning but it is still 18c at midnight. I want a winter. Ron.

I would put your alarm on Ron,just to remind yourself what 9c feels like.:eek2:
If they're wrong again sue the b+ggers.:ymad:

The monsoon has reached Andamans and is shortly expected to make a landfall on Indian mainland. But it is still some distance from where I am located. This picture is from Kolkata during monsoon (from The Telegraph newspaper)

I said a while ago that I wouldn't ever complain about our weather when people around the globe have it so,so,much worse.......but I probably will,it's part of British culture.

The monsoon can be hard to live with at times SMT unfortunately it is also impossible to live without. In Northern Australia we don't follow the seasons it is simply either the Wet or the Dry. Doesn't matter which one you are in , you finish up wishing it was the other. All the best Ron. PS Carol I don't need the alarm I woke up early with massive cramps and my legs freezing , it only got down to 11 , Ron.

Sunny but cooler at LAST. 9c to 22c today similar all week , perhaps a week of near winter.. Ron.

3rd day of the holiday weekend and still cool and grey. There's a 10c difference between here on the North East coast and those on the balmy West coast, less than 100 miles away. Also rain on the way from "Europe" They've had bad storms and a lot of folk and children have been struck by lightening.

The monsoon is making landfall on the Indian mainland - it is a season of good cheer. :) Even today, when services contribute to a disproportionate large share in the GDP, the monsoon remains vital to the country and its economy. Let us celebrate the occasion!

Sunny again here mostly. Tho i couldnt say much about this afternoon as my little grandson arrived a week early.. so weather went outta my mind lol. Mum n baby doing well when i left a bit earlier. 😆 💕

I might have to retract this observation. Two agencies are at opposing viewpoints as to whether the monsoon has arrived or not:

I am not an expert in this area and hence do not know who to believe. I can only say that it is still very hot.

Congratulations to fuzzy_butterfly.

Thanks carol n smt.. oh lovely stuff this grandparent lark. ☺

Weather a bit cloudy today n more chilly than lately. Xxx

Yesterday was extremely hot and I saw a snake trying to enter my room after dinner. I called the watch and ward staff and had to walk atleast 2 km here and there but they could not catch the snake. I changed quarters. I take a Librax type drug before dinner and that drug makes me drowsy. I did all this and today I am ill (mushy stool) as a result of this. Would stay somewhere else today but then what? No answers.

Forget what I said about no rain. The heavens opened yesterday with some areas in SE Qld. getting around 340 mm in 24 hrs combined with gale force winds ,high seas and a king tide. WE got a fair bit on the Sunshine coast but the Gold coast was worst hit and one of the beach front restaurants had all of its windows smashed by waves on the high tide. There were no drownings but one unfortunate couple died when a fuel tanker jack knfifed in torrential rain and took out their mini bus. For once my unit did not flood . I could not have done much as I have been laid low by a severe upper respitory tract infection since last Tuesday. I have been on two different anti biots and 25 mg of pred a day and today is the first time that I feel half alive. Ron,

Ron, feel better soon me old cobber.
Overcast but a tad warmer today. Our bit of the east coast has hardly seen any sunshine for nearly 10 days.I'm not complaining mind you, just an observation.

Better than some . In the past week a lady was taken by a 4.5 metre croc just north of Cairns and a surfer south of Pertth lost his leg above the knee to a great white he was treated in hospital for three days before he passed away. Another lady was killed by a shark whilst diving off Perth today. Ron.Ps They found and killed the croc and recovered the victims remains. They caught and killed a 4 metre plus great white near the surfers attack.

Ron, sir, is it very rational of the surfers to surf in such waters? What is the expected value that a surfer would suffer such a fate in that coast? I know it is an exciting sport, but this is at the cost of life!

Unfortunately SMT our increasing attacks from sharks and other marine predators seem to be as a direct result of our improving conservation efforts. Several species of sharks including great whites are totally protected except in cases where parks and wildlife declare a problem animal that needs to be removed. Crocodiles have been protected since the sixties and some areas of northern Australia have abundant numbers. With regard to the great whites another conservation effort , that of the humpback whales, has led to greater concentrations of great whites in inshore waters. The sharks follow the humpback migrations along both east and west coasts of Australia. Whaling was ceased in the early sixties and the humpback populations on both coasts have increased enormously. Great whites and orcas are their main predators and their numbers have increased in line with the whale populations. The population of Australia is concentrated on the coast and surfing is probably the most common recreation. Very few people are actually killed by sharks or crocs but it is something that seems to both make headlines and cause a lot of fear in the population. Ron.

That explains matters: I understand that it is a low-incidence high-decibel event. And I have never had an opportunity to engage in this sport, only watched it in movies or as I recall now, in James Blunt's video, Stay the Night. It is truly an exciting sport.

Wishing everyone a nice weekend.

I saw reports of the recent attacks in our daily paper.I know people are far more likely to read about these attacks, than flower arranging or origami, for the scarey factor alone.
Life is a risky business for us all,and we are all aware of the risks. But as usual,it's a case of "It'll never happen to me".

!5c and sunny, but a chill breeze on the coast.

Europe is having massive summer storms and we are in the midst of one of the worst east coast low pressure systems to hit Australia in many years. There is flooding from central Qld to the border of NSW and Victoria with the system now expected to cause flooding in eastern Victoria and then Tasmania. Wild world weather. Ron.

Three men found dead in cars in NSW in separate flood related incidences. When will we learn , if it's flooded forget it. Ron.

I caught a short glimpse of the Aus. storms on the tv news. Will watch with interest this evening.I'm glad the worst of it has missed you Ron.
Nice day here.Supposed to be 18c but there's a chill breeze off the sea.Went cycling with bare arms and had goose bumps for a good while, until I warmed up.

The east coast storm which caused so much trouble eventually reached Tasmania and turned it into a giant puddle with some of the worst floods in ninety years with one woman drowned and two others still missing. Parts of Sydneys north side ocean front mansions are still falling into the sea due to high tides and a large swell. Things have settled down up in Qld and it is cool but sunny winter weather. My lungs have finally started to clear thanks to the anti biots. It is scary how quickly you can go down when you are taking immune suppressants like cyclosporine. Ron.

Glad the meds have helped Ron ☺
Just woke to thunder n lightening. Hope it clears the air. But not cause any major problems. Sorry for the folks in Aus n Taz. 🙏💕💕💕

RON....Glad you're feeling better and I hope the cooler weather suits you better.

Grey skies and cool here at the coast.Going for a run to the country where it's warm and sunny......allegedly !!!

Here it is currently 87 F with 23% humidity, Wind at 1 mph. at 12:55 p.m.. It is partly cloudy, but not threatening any precipitation.

Hot as hell. Usual. Hope to go home after 19 days for a thorough check-up. Looking forward to that.

Despondent. Could not work hard the past week.

We have just finished a week of sunshine and temps up to 30c now we are having a cool rainy week. Somewhere in between would be nice. Ron.

I think we have had a glimpse of the sun two or three times in 10 days. It's really dismal today.Fog horns at the mouth of the river (TYNE) have been blowing mournfully all night.

Depressing but safe.

It's turned into a nice afternoon...........I know it's trivial,but I'm quite annoyed.
I could have done the laundry and hung it out-doors,but the forecast was for rain,so didn't want to chance it as I was going out. I already have some on the indoor airer.

Ah well, tomorrow is another day.....probably a wet one hahaha.

For once they got it right. It has rained every day so far this week. The day temps are not too bad but the nights have been quite warm making it hard to pick what to put on the bed. I mostly start with a sheet and one blanket and finish up with both kicked off and leg cramps. Sigh. Ron.

Been a rather wet week here still quite warm tho which i struggle with, having to wear a coat to stay dry n being to warm in it . What ever happened to the four seasons we used to have...
💕

We have just been advised that another significant east coast low will hit us by sunday it will not be as intense as the last one but given that the last one produced up to 385 mm in some local areas the expected 100 plus mm this time is expected to cause significant flooding right down the east coast from central qld to Tasmania. looks like I may be bailing yet. Ron.

Started to rain quite heavily at lunch time yesterday. It has been raining steadily all night. This is not the rain event predicted for the weekend. Apparently it is not raining 50 kliks either side of us just here. If it pours on Sunday I will definitely be bailing if not before. Ron.

As much as I love a thunder storm i'm sure I would be happy with what we've had. No sign of hot sunny days, still hoping for some kind of summer though.

Absolutely dire.....grey,damp,chilly.I feel like returning all the lovely summer tops I have amassed since last year, and exchanging them for some cosy sweaters.

All the components of the east coast low are coming togeather . huge rain band moving across central Australia ,Alice springs had hail today. Western Qld is expecting good rain tomorrow and we are expecting severe storms with heavy rain on Sunday from Cairns down to the Victorian border. Big storm . Ron.

Hi dry so far today. Sun is poking its head out here n there.

Keep safe all having severe weather at the mo.
Love n best wishes all 💕💕

Solid overcast this afternoon but not expected to be at its worst till midday tomorrow..Ron.

It is supposed to be °120 here on Sunday. It's been said that you can fry an egg on the sidewalk here during the summertime. Maybe I should buy some eggs !

I honestly don't know how you can bear it,over 18c- 20c and I struggle.:eek2:

sending you cool breezes from the North East coast of England. We've got lots to spare.

Today the sun is fighting a losing battle with the clouds.Cool breeze though.:hallo3:

Rained all night and this morning. Main trough is not here yet. I'm hoping that no severe cells come my way. The hill behind my flat is saturated and I fear if we get a really heavy downpour I will be bailing out the bathroom and laundry. Ron.

It poured down for most of sunday evening. Water started coming in around ten pm then the rain just stopped thanks to near gale force westerly winds. I was able to deal with what came in and cleaned up the remainder this morning. Some of the older residents in western Qld could not believe their eyes. Longreach received 170mm. It is the highest rainfall they have ever recorded in winter. Winter rain just does not happen out there. Quite remarkable. It is NSW turn today with rain and gales from Sydney to the Victorian border. Ron.
