Over 30c again today , 70% humidity , Cyclone trevor has crossed the cape and is heading for the Northern territory. Temps over night are around 22c. It is very hard to get any sleep particularly with the high humidity . More storms predicted for this afternoon. This is November weather not late March. Ron.

16c and sunny.First wear of the year of liteweight Hi-Viz cycling jacket. And we saw BUTTERFLIES on the ride..…...cooling to 10c at the weekend though.I'll try very hard not to complain about our weather in the future after the tragic floods in Africa this week.Absolutely devastating.

Back down to 65 after our glorious 70 something yesterday. It felt great sitting in my wheelchair with the sun on my face waiting for my ride. The one positive of yesterday....see I can be positive. :)

Clear sunny day with a breeze as the snow slowly melts, the birds are making quite a racket. Its time to stop feeding them as the vermin come out of hibernation and find the feed and the birds can easily find their regular food sources now.

+7C and sunshine. Some green grass on the edge of the boulevard. The snowbanks have shrunk considerably without any flooding. I have to put in my seed order, I'm late this year. Maybe get some blackberry canes as well.

Brisbane area
Partly cloudy. Medium (40%) chance of showers, most likely in the late morning and afternoon. The chance of a thunderstorm from late this morning, mainly in the west. Light winds.

The official forecast for my local area. As Ron has mentioned the real action is in the tropical north where two cyclones lurk. TC Trevor is a potentially nasty one, expected to reach cat 4.

-3 but going up to +5. Bright and sunny. A few flurries in the forecast for Sunday, so it's not over yet. I'm going to sweep the sidewalk today, can't do any raking yet.

I caught the squirrel in the act drilling through the plastic film covering the chicken I placed outside to cool after supper last evening. Had I waited another minute he could have destroyed my leftovers. No more feeding the birds as this attracts unwanted wildlife, a sure sign of spring's arrival.

One of the weather forecasters last night suggested that our above average Autumn temps are due to high sea temps. He said that if that is the case and sea temps stay high we will be looking at above average temps for a long time, so get used to it. We have had temps in the l 21c h 30c+all of this month with very high humidity and thunderstorms likely nearly every afternoon. The future ????? Ron.

Hot and sunny. 34* with N/E wins which are not cooling. Glad to see that Cyclones Trevor and Veronica has crossed the coast and are dissipating. As far as I know, the damage has been less than could have been expected.

Lovely and sunny out. Winter woollies are drying nicely. I'm still wearing them though, oh, and the thermal vests. I'm not that brave!

I'm planting some potatoes and flowers up today.

Another 30c+ day and 20c + night. Nearly April and the number of days below 30c you could count on the fingers of one hand. We are expecting two days with rain and temps in the mid 20cs mid week but by Friday back to 33c. Ron.

Looks like another sunny day. Not cold out again. I think we are over Winter well and truly. Expecting some nice weather, apparently until May. Whoopee.

Spooky, I will swap you weather for a day! Hot, horribly humid and windless. 33*. Ron50 and I are fairly close neighbours ( by Australian standards )and he and I are sick of the heat. Wednesday might bring a drop in temperatures and a reasonable amount of the wet stuff.

Cooler weather has firmed up the snow pack, I am going to take advantage of it by doing a fuel run before the weather warms up and softens the trails again. Time is running out, and the taxes on fuel are going up next week

Fine and sunny 9c. with a brisk Northerly breeze.Great day for a cycle.Lots of people at the coast, walking, cycling and jogging. One or two hardy souls in shorts and T.s.....nutters.

Fuel prices shot up by 15 cents a liter at many stations today, I'm glad I made the fuel run yesterday. I felt good yesterday, one of those rare days that I felt rested, and my bowels were good too. Fuel runs are always long, as I combine grocery shopping and everything else in one day to cut my costs.

+6 and rain in the forecast. I made a supply run with my Trolley Dolly in case it really pours. Maybe that will melt the last of the snow. Don't want any more.

This the second day of fairly heavy showers. Most of the effects of ex-cyclone Trevor had seen heavy falls in the drought-affected inland areas which is great news for those who need it. 26* today, more rain due.

Wonderfully sunny in the Midlands today. I really appreciate sunny days to raise my spirit up. Almost feel as though I could take the thermal vest and woolly aran jumper off today.

Cmack, you made me laugh with that comment.

Some fresh snow coming down, perhaps enough to coat the icy snow pack enough that I can go for a ski later. The number of opportunities left for going for a ski are limited.

+2 and it started off sunny, now a little snow cloud right over the city, it's so small it won't last long. It's melting as it hits the ground. I still have about a foot of snow in the middle of my back yard, the sides are all melted. I got busy washing windows, because pretty soon I'll be spending all my time outside.

Little warmer than yesterday, which was about 23*, At present about 25 or so, with a max of 27 forecast. Still some showers around and SE winds 10-15knts. Warmer weather its with usual predicted accuracy 'suspected' for next week.

Same on the Sunshine coast Merv . Cooler but still very humid. Maroochydore got 118mm for the day yesterday. We got about half that. A bit warmer today but showers still coming thru. Ron.

Lovely and sunny again today. Nice and warm already. Am going to try and sort some stuff in the garden whilst there is no rain and i'm feeling like I have a bit of energy.

16c clear blue sky and lots of sun...but boy was the wind chilly at the coast. As we cycled past the shorts and t-shirt brigade I thought to myself " I bet you wish you'd brought a sweater".…..These will be the same folk who suffer bad sun burn if we get a good summer

Deceptively bright and sunny, but it's actually -8. Southern Ontario is in the midst of snowstorms, but we missed them all.

-13C with enough fresh snow to get me on the skis. The opportunities to get out on the trail are becoming fewer, I'll take advantage of it. I am not ready for spring yet, winter is my favorite season, the wild fires, vermin and insect repellent will come soon enough.

Much cooler overnight. Lovely morning today, with, any Japanese members will excuse me,' a slight nip in the air'. Hopefully, Autumn has arrived. minimal rain and cooling SE winds for the rest of the week.

Quite nice here today. We had a high of 16c....Still lots of pruning to go though. Got a new lawnmower and it seems pretty decent, I assembled it today and it fired right up on the second pull. It's made by Certified, I hadn't heard of that company before. Briggs & Stratton 174cc engine, which I like. Ask me in a few weeks and I'll give my further review. :)

Cheers!

I haven't heard of the Certified brand, CM. Are they local ( Canadian) products, or, made, like most things nowadays, in China? I have Toro, which I think was manufactured in the US. It is cumbersome, but self- propelled and reliable. The old Australian Victa brand is now made China too nowadays.

We had a gardening business for years before hubby retired. He still cuts lawns for some of the neighbours (to keep his hand in,he says) Briggs & Stratton were his favourite.

It's been a nice day, warmer than the 8c it says.We had a walk along the river, but high up, away from the crowds.Clocks went forward last night so we are now into British summertime.Stand by for whinging from me.Summer is not my favourite season....

I hear you Carol, I don't like daylight saving time. Rather it wastes time as I find myself inside working on supper when I would still be outside on the old time. I dislike late sunsets and late sunrises.

Yesterday I went for a lengthly ski, the snow pack is solid supporting my weight and I could go up the side trails off of the main trail to places I cannot get too very often. I could have kept on going but had to know my limit as to what my body could take.
Chris, you should have good performance from Certified, they are a reliable build.

It's currently 14c here with scattered cloud cover.

Regarding the new mower, some parts (such as the deck) are made in China. Everything else seems pretty legit. I'm quite impressed with the rear wheel self propelled assembly. It also has only one very sturdy height adjustment lever which is very well though out.

Sounds like you had a nice skiing session, Buff. Right on man!

Cheers all!

Lovely and sunny today, again. Whoopeee from me for Summertime, lol. Can't resist a good bit of warmth and sunshine.

Seen a good few butterflies, have loads of ladybirds (procreating), the bees have arrived and I even had a fly in my kitchen. Not spotted a hedgie yet.

It's currently +4 and clouding over. Looks like we're going to have a rainstorm. That would actually clean the streets and sidewalks a bit. Everything is covered in sand, the city takes a long time to sweep the winter sand off.

Took a drive to an old hunting and fishing spot to go for a long ski to visit places that I have not been to in many years. The one lake that was all wilderness now has been developed and they are diamond drilling a large area of prospecting claims that followed the logging. A mine may start up one day, which would be a shot in the arm for the struggling economy in our area.

It gave me a feeling of deja vu as the area was once a prime remote wilderness area rich in wildlife and fishing opportunities in my younger days.

Sun, clouds, rain and hail. Oh, and colder today. Think it's going to be the same for the rest of this week. So similar to Scottsma.

I hate it when wildlife areas are destroyed by humans. Haven't we taken enough for ourselves? tut tut.

Cold this morning -4c... It got real warm as soon as I had to go to work on the roof though! Cleanin' chimneys is a dirty game... especially when the creosote sticks so well to the sweat of your brow... ;)

Sunny day today, there were a couple of very short showers this morning, but nicer although I did pop the heating on briefly earlier.

Before I can plant up my hanging baskets the jackdaws are pecking out all the basket fabric and moss out for their nests. Might buy wicker ones this year so they cant destroy them.

-4 this morning with a bit of snow on the boulevard, with more in the forecast. I don't think we'll get a lot.

Fresh snowfall and that means one thing, I'll be out exploring the far reaches of the ski trail this afternoon.
Chris, chimney cleanings are no fun, I installed my wood furnace so that I can access and clean the chimney from the basement behind the furnace, as I am as useless and clumsy as a horse up on the roof with polished hooves.

-8C clear skies. Yesterday conditions allowed me to go on a long ski as the firm deep snowpack at this time of year allows one to go almost anywhere. Today there is work to do at the cabin.

We are getting short heavy showers every day. You are not game to go anywhere without the brolly. Temps are finally in the pleasant range with max at 27 and 20 c overnight. Ron.

Much as Ron has described, pleasant SE winds for the past few days which keep the island mosquitoes semi-grounded. As winter approaches they seem to be more active, anxious to get the last bite in before sniffing it!

Wish we could get up to the 20's.
Looking a bit brighter than yesterday, but there's still a wind out there and the day is young. The garden needs the water but it's delaying me from sorting it out for Spring.

11c but feels a lot colder with the wind chill, but dry.
There was snow in parts of the country which took a few folk by surprise, not to mention new born lambs that had probably been born in sheds then turned out with there mums at a day or two old. If snow's expected the lambs are usually dressed in polythene jackets.

I spent the day out at the cabin cleaning up the pile of water damaged stuff outside the cabin including the old mattress. Hauled it all out by snowmobile to take to the dump. The hard pack makes it easy to transport heavy loads on the trails. The time is quite limited now, as the spring melt could happen anytime.

26 c and occasional showers. We have had more rain in Autumn than in all of summer when we would normally expect it. Everyone around town is happy that their rainwater tanks are now full. Ron.

+4C. 25mm of rain expected for tomorrow. The ground is still frozen so there could be flooding. I woke up with sore hips and figured rain is on the way. I don't really want to be a barometer, but what can you do.

Gray and miserable. Going forward it looks wet. At this time of year the calendar moves slower than molasses forgotten in the back of the fridge; it feels like we already had a full month of April but only one week of it has gone by. If my finances would allow I'd book a trip to the Caribbean.

I could join you in the Caribbean, Buff. Sounds lovely.

dull and cold here. I've been planting seeds for summer colour lately. Got many tulips out already and more coming up. Apparently the weather isn't going to be too warm or mild next week. Never mind, I hope we have another good summer this year.

Its an indoor type of day, as we are expecting a lot of rain moving through the area. The heavy soggy snow pack isn't going to help those living in low areas. Its the time of year we are paying for both our past winter and the upcoming summer. I'll find out how much income tax I'll be paying at months end. Seems to be the month of billing be it nature of the hand of man.

Another wet day, the rain made a mess of the snow pack, its still well over half a meter thick and will take several weeks to melt. The snow itself has become icy beads as it compacts and could become hard and firm once again with the next cold front expected later in the week. Spring is a long often messy progression before the warmth of the growing season sets up.

It was over 30c in quite a few areas in SEQld yesterday. The winds have swung to the north and with them comes the heat. lower temps and more wind and rain for the rest of the week after Wednesday. Ron.

10C. Most of that rainstorm passed to the south of us. The snow is gone, so I can start planning my garden. There is scattered flurries in the forecast.

Showery and a chill wind. Not as chilly as North America of course. When does that snow shift, Buff and Tuff? I've been looking at flowers for quite some time. January onwards usually. Lucky us.

It will be another 3 weeks at the very least before the seasonal shift takes place, and then there is always the chance for a late season snowfall anytime in May. The ice on the lakes break up on the first or second week in May. It does not end there, for once the snow is gone the black flies come out in force, followed by mosquitoes and the unpredictability of wild fires.

This morning its -5C and we received 3 cms of fresh snow on top of our existing snow pack which has firmed up. Enough to go skiing, and good skiing at that.

I'm not a summer lover at all, and I definitely wouldn't leave the house when the flies and mozzies where in full force.I had a little whinge today because it was warm in the car.

Luckily hubby's of the same mind.

Had to use the snowbrush to clear the windows and hood on the truck yesterday, and forecasters are calling for a snowstorm later tomorrow. I should have stocked up better as the doctor apt may have to be rescheduled depending upon how much snow we receive.
-8C under clear skies this morning, perhaps a ski this afternoon.
